I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Well done that's great NickNacks

Can you tell in your clothes yet?

nickdrakeslovechild · 23/01/2016 16:01

Lost another 5lb, cant believe it! 10lb in 2 weeks.

toastyarmadillo · 23/01/2016 19:27

Can I join you ladies?
I did Cambridge 7 years ago, did really well got down to a size 10, husband left me and I gave up without doing any maintenance programme.
Now after two more children and numerous medical problems I am the heaviest and most miserable I have ever been.
Doing exante this time round for cost reasons, day one I weighed a massive 16st 3lbs.
I know vlcd work for me, and spent today rereading old vlcd threads here on mumsnet to inspire and motivate me.
Day 3 today, no cheating and after a sneaky weigh in already 3 lbs down.
I have been adding a tablespoon of psyllium husks to various shakes with hot water then blending to make a hot custard/pudding thing. Your body can't break down the husks so they don't add any calories, carbs etc just bulk meals out, keep me full longer and best of all keep me regular 😉

toastyarmadillo · 23/01/2016 19:27

Well done nick that a fantastic loss

toastyarmadillo · 24/01/2016 09:02

So day 4 and I seem to be sleeping better! And the hunger is gone. Any urge to pick now is definitely habit. I plan to increase my water consumption today.

nickdrakeslovechild · 24/01/2016 16:43

first day of week 4 and I am so hungry today, not sure what's going on. Anyone tried the Toffee and Walnut shake. Its amazing my favourite one yet!

nickdrakeslovechild · 24/01/2016 16:43

Doh, I mean week 3!

toastyarmadillo · 24/01/2016 19:00

Think the hunger thing varies weekly. Last time I did vlcd I found sticking to shakes filled me up, but bars for some reason left me nibbly and thinking I was hungry. I suspect it's the volume of the shakes that does it.

toastyarmadillo · 24/01/2016 19:02

I am avoiding both meals and bars this time, I find it easier to not make a huge fuss out of each meal pack, so I am sticking to shakes and not even sitting down to eat them.

toastyarmadillo · 24/01/2016 19:03

Try increasing your fluids nick

SisterViktorine · 24/01/2016 20:25

I'm exante too armadillo. There is 100 packs for £85 right now, including the expensive things.

I am avoiding bars this time too but I don't like the shakes so I do porridge for breakfast and 'meals' for lunch and dinner. I have not felt nibbly at all on this.

That said I've just slipped some cookies into my order. Blush They looked at me!

nickdrakeslovechild · 24/01/2016 21:06

You might be right about the water as I haven't had as much today!

I do shake for breakfast, meal at lunch (today was the curry which was yummy) and shake at dinner. Don't want to get into the snack things at all as that what got me into this mess. If I could lose another 4 this week I will be ecstatic at a stone in 3 weeks.

billabye · 25/01/2016 08:36

Have cancelled my weigh in this morning. Had a bad weekend.

Was planning a night off on Saturday as we were going out. I was going to drive and eat salad. Needless to say that didn't happen. I ate all day yesterday as i felt dreadful. Feeling guilty now as although the food I ate was very nice it wasn't worth it. So back on it today and will go weigh in on Thursday instead Sad

billabye · 25/01/2016 08:37

Congrats to everyone else though, keep up the good work!

toastyarmadillo · 25/01/2016 16:42

Day 5 I think, it's turning into a bit of a blur, which is probably good. Today I had porridge and spaghetti bolognaise for lunch (was a free gift from exante) got a shake for dinner then off for an hour of aqua aerobics tonight.

I was really proud of myself over the weekend, I made fajitas for everyone else, and even sat at the table while they ate them without a slip. Genuinely not feeling like I am missing out, most of the time I am eating because it's that time of day not due to hunger really. Although I was genuinely nibbly for something savory lunchtime, hence the variation from my standard shakes.

Must drink more water though! Am having lots of black tea, and a Americana (black) from Costa earlier, while I watched my 5 year old demolish a slice of carrot cake bigger than his head.

Thinking about doing some t25 workouts on the days I don't go to the gym or do exercise classes, I was doing this before so it should be okay to continue and they recommend 30 mind exercise. The t25 workouts are only 25 minutes so achievable hopefully. Obviously if it starts impacting on weight loss then I will tone down the exercise for a bit.

toastyarmadillo · 25/01/2016 16:45

Billabye don't worry we all slip, just get back at it straight away, you CAN do this!

billabye · 25/01/2016 16:54

I've actually really enjoyed my packs today and feel glad to be back on it Shock

london32 · 26/01/2016 20:09

Hi everyone
Really struggling today - day 21. Going to have x2 meals and a sweet treat on Thursday but it seems so far away Confused

NickNacks · 26/01/2016 20:16

Sorry you're struggling london Any idea why? Sad

I've had a chest infection for 5days now and feel hungry a lot of the time. I wonder if it's that or just week 3 fatigue.

OP posts:
nickdrakeslovechild · 26/01/2016 20:22

Same here this week (3) is so hard. Must be something if a few of us are like this.

NickNacks · 26/01/2016 20:31

I've heard weight loss can be slow this week too so I have that in mind and will go in prepared and determine to hit week 4 with gusto!

Day 6, just back from fitsteps, found it really hard going, felt like I just didn't have enough energy. It doesn't help having to look in the mirror watching my fat jiggling about. I hate being the biggest person in the damn class, makes me feel so down.
Back to exante.... porridge for breakfast, two mugs of marigold bouillon stuff at lunch time, then a white choc and raspberry shake after my workout. One meal to have and am treating myself with a tesco ultraslim bar. They are suppose to be identical to the exante bars so thought it was worth a try.
Looking forward to Thursday and a weigh in, fingers crossed all my effort has shown on the scales.
