I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

I remember week three as being a slow weight loss last time and really hard to stick to, I was told it's the body saying "hmmm let's see if this calorie reduction is a permenantly thing" and holding onto everything. Usually improves week 4 with a much bigger weight loss and easier sticking to it.
You will all get there, give it time, stay strong! And drink a pint of water every time your on the verge of cheating. If you do slip keep to protein only

plumstone · 26/01/2016 21:14

Hi, all, thanks Toasty for the link, pleas can I join, after standing on the scales yesterday, and being 12.7 and my fad days stretchy clue dress being unflattering, i bought the Exante diet 100 for £85, so essentially don't need to buy food for a month. Need to loose ideally 3 stone, by end May! Packs due to arrive tomorrow, actually really nervous!!!

billabye · 26/01/2016 21:38

Hi plumstone Smile

You should shift the weight no problem. Getting through the first few days is the worst. Keep drinking the water and thinking about the new, slimmer you if it gets tough.

plumstone · 26/01/2016 21:50

Thanks Bill, i drink 2litres a day, do I need to up this, it's spaced between black coffee and the very odd peppermint tea!

NickNacks · 26/01/2016 21:52

Welcome plumstone Grin

I aim for 3 or 4 liters a day plus tea. There's a definite correlation between drinking plenty and weight loss as it flushes everything through. I actually find it easy to drink it as the diet makes me thirsty anyway.

SwedeDreams · 26/01/2016 21:57

Oh, just found this thread, it's nice to know others are doing the horrible diet too. I am doing slim and save, have lost 12lbs since 4th Jan. I have had a 3 days where I ate a normal meal and so I just sort of starved the rest of the day. I have loads to lose- another three stone really. It sucks being short! You have to be really bloody light to not look like a porker Sad

Glad it wasn't just me on week three fail- I lost nothing! Despite being really good!

Well done everyone who is keeping going. Just ordered a load more shakes as I can't somehow face the meal type ones anymore.

Thin by summer!

billabye · 26/01/2016 22:00

Hi Swede Smile

I ordered a few slim and save to try for variety. They arrived today. So far I've had the mushroom pasta and choc caramel shake. They were just ok. Which flavors do you like? There are so many it's overwhelming!

SwedeDreams · 26/01/2016 22:10

Hello billabye!

Key lime pie is nice, but really my favorites are chocolate and banana! All the bars are great, not too waxy. Maybe anything tastes good after a while on this?

I do like the mushroom pasta with added extra mushrooms, and the cottage pie is quite nice too. Having said that after a couple weeks I don't really do the meals- I tend to have fish or chicken and vegetables instead.

They sell the packs on ebay for cheaper if you are not fussy and want a variety to try?

billabye · 26/01/2016 22:15

Thanks I'll have a look

toastyarmadillo · 27/01/2016 04:42

I suspect there is something in the, anything taste good after a while thing. Great to see more people reclaiming their wardrobes with vlcd. We can do this!

toastyarmadillo · 27/01/2016 11:52

Day 6, porridge and a mug of oxo for lunch. Really wish I could ditch the oxo and bouillon drinks worried the salt will cause water retention and affect the scales!
Those tesco ultraslim bars are absolutely amazing, only tried white choc and raspberry so far but much tastier than the ones I had with exante and Cambridge last time round. I vaguely recall those tasting plastic or waxy. These tesco ones are like normal chocolate bars, proper chocolate and still the same ingredients and carbs etc as the proper vlcd ones. Now to stop myself eating the lot.

How's everyone doing? Anyone else exercising yet? Has it effected your weight loss. I am doing aqua aerobics and fitsteps.

plumstone · 27/01/2016 15:14

Ok so its all arrived!! Super excited, odd looks from Colleagues as I very rarely get anything delivered to work Anywho - its all here - now do I start tomorrow, and have days 3 and 4 (Saturday and Sunday) which could be hard going as the weekend when I am getting my hair done and for the rest of the time loll about in bed - or do I start on Saturday and eat the food that is bought and scheduled for the rest of the week? Also bought lots of nice bath, hair and body stuff to pamper the hell of starvation it is about to embark on?

toastyarmadillo · 27/01/2016 16:35

Depends how motivated you feel, are you more bothered by wasting food or by your weight. Totally up to you. I would probably eat it then start. In fact it's easier at work as you can't run to the fridge in weak moments. It's just the first three days that are so hard, for some people it's not that hard. Good luck keep us posted.
You will be running to the loo a lot in the beginning, mainly thanks to the amount of water you need to drink. Could be a pain at work, depends on what you do?

plumstone · 27/01/2016 16:49

Cheers Toasty - will take one for the team and start on Saturday!! I hate waste and the thought of throwing stuff out bothers me. I drink about 2l of water a day - purchase a 2l bottle every morning on way to work and chug it so I don't need to lug it home!!! Also three/4 cups of coffee and peppermint tea - so the liquid shouldn't be a massive problem

May try and start Friday and then I can be lazy cow at home for Saturday and Sunday!! Full progress will be duly noted!!! Question - what is the story with Fizzy water? yes or no - I thought I might really much the boat out and get some for the weekend - I take it Tonic is a no no?

billabye · 27/01/2016 16:55

I drink fizzy water. I buy multipacks of small bottles and have one on an evening. I'm pretty sure tonic is off limits.

billabye · 27/01/2016 16:59

toasty do those teach bars have all the nutrients in that the others do? They're a bargain

billabye · 27/01/2016 16:59

*Tesco bars

SisterViktorine · 27/01/2016 17:08

I have just had an exante cheese and bacon scone. Very nice (in relative terms!).

browneyedgirl1974 · 27/01/2016 19:25

I am about to start exante. Need to lose 2 stone initially for an op but long term wouls like to lose between 4 and 6. Will have a proper read later.

toastyarmadillo · 27/01/2016 20:35

Yep tesco ultraslim is exactly the same as exante bars but much cheaper.

toastyarmadillo · 27/01/2016 20:40

On the minimins site they looked into it and both tesco and asda diet bars are interchangeable with the exante ones, really handy if you have forgot to grab something for lunch.

Stonking head ache this evening, probably not enough water. Fingers crossed for my weigh in tomorrow, going to push it in my favour by weighing first thing, every ounce counts right!

billabye · 28/01/2016 14:25

Despite my bad weekend I've still managed to shift a couple of pounds. If I can lose a pound and a half by Tuesday I'll have hit a stone in 4 weeks which I'll be thrilled about.

Just tried a slim and save porridge and had to bin it. Glad I only ordered one as its not a patch on the Cambridge one.

toastyarmadillo · 29/01/2016 07:52

Cancelled my weigh in after a bad day of slips, unhealthy ones at that. Back on the wagon, back to just shakes today!

How's everyone doing

Eddmr · 29/01/2016 08:07

Can I join please? Starting Cambridge again this morning. I have been on it before but have put on again due to my 'D'H leaving etc. My starting weight is 13st 12lb. I am 5ft 8in. I would love to be something in the 10stones but more realistically 11st something would be fab. I need to find myself a lovely hot man so this is my inspiration. Actually, its the fact that my knees and feet ache, I'm the fattest person at my body balance class and my clothes don't fit.
