I have my first appointment with my consultant booked for three weeks time. I've done lots of research and prepping and just wondered if anyone else was in the same position? I could do with the support! Smile

Supernanny that's amazing! Well done you!

Can I join in please?
First day today just having the apple and cinnamon porridge yuck! I think this week is going to be trial and error with the food. I have just over 3 stone to lose.

Newme2016 · 11/01/2016 11:26

Well done Billabye and Supernanny! That's brilliant results!

Well I've had my shake, now looking forward to lunch - I am starving already, but drinking as much water as I can to keep the hunger away. Just got to remember why I'm am doing this.

Hope everyone has a good day x

FatRun · 11/01/2016 11:30

Wow - congrats billabye and supernanny on 2 brilliant losses!

I'm on my first black coffee of the day. Had a full fast yesterday to make the carb withdrawal less painful and feeling ok today. Shall have my 3 x tetras this evening.

I think one of my favourite things about CWP (well, just low carbing really) is how quickly the water retention and puffiness disappears from around my tummy and face.

How's everyone else getting on?

FatRun · 11/01/2016 11:31

nickdrakes how do you make your porridge?

I find apple and cinnamon a bit sweet - the plain is ok but I think there's definitely a knack to making it.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 11/01/2016 11:58

not currently on Cambridge (using Slim and Save instead, but did C a few years back). I loved the chocolate tetras as they were incredibly useful out and about. Then the price increased for them (the delivery was more expensive), and for various reasons life got in the way, and I didn't introduce food properly,so naturally all the weight came back on Sad.

IME, first five days are awful, you just need to drink the water, take paracetamol as needed, and get through it. Ketosis is brilliant once you get there Grin.

I have a stone to lose before the end of January to take me to my lightest post pregnancy weight, then start food, which is the hardest bit. I have a planned cheat tomorrow night, but I am struggling with not picking at eg grapes as I walk past them in the kitchen. Don't mind cooking for the family, and sitting with my shake while they eat, but it's the picking I struggle with. Which is why I was the weight I was, and what I need to change to be the weight I want to be. It's hard though [whiney wail].

StDogolphin · 11/01/2016 13:34

I lost seven pounds but cheated at the weekend so feel like I am starting again.

nickdrakeslovechild · 11/01/2016 16:42

FatRun I used hot water and then microwaved it for 1 min. It was the slimy texture and the chemical taste.

Had the chinese chilli soup for lunch which was ok but powdery. I made that with just off boiled water and a electiric mix thingy. Feeling a bit worried now that I'm not going to like any of the food Sad

StDogolphin · 11/01/2016 17:25

I do hot chocolate by putting hot water in an extra large mug then the powder on top and whisking it so no lumps. It isn't slimy and I quite like the taste. I like the tetra packs once the have been in the fridge.

FatRun · 11/01/2016 19:14

For the shakes I use a hand blender. I have never got on with the soups.

I stick to tetras only now because they're so bloody easy & no prep/mess!

NickNacks · 11/01/2016 19:40

Good evening everyone!

Day 4 for me and I'm still going strong, no slip ups. I still have one more bottle of water to drink today plus my 8pm shake. It's strawberry tonight yum! I have an active blend for my shakes and the only time I tried to do a hot one, it was horrid. Far too watery and gross. Disappointed by that as I was looking forward to a hot choccie.

A nice bastardisation of the shakes is a spoon of instant coffee in a v cold vanilla shake. Tastes quite indulgent!

Well done Nick stick with it! Have you stepped on the scales yet?!

NickNacks · 11/01/2016 20:13

No and actually I'm quite scared that come Friday I won't have lost anything. I don't feel any different. Confused

NickNacks you will definitely have lost. Sounds like you're doing great.

I just made the keylime shake into a mousse. Very nice. The mint choc one also makes an excellent mousse.

FatRun · 11/01/2016 22:12

Nick you absolutely will have lost. How tall are you?

Most people lose a shit load in week 1. It tends to be a mix of water weight and glycogen stores from the liver.

Week 2, in my experience, tends to be a smaller loss. (My typical is 11lbs week one, 2lbs week two as an example). By week three is generally when I begin to 'see' the fat loss IYSWIM.

Week one weigh in is usually a fabulous motivator!

FatRun · 11/01/2016 22:12

Billabye, are you using the mix a mousse?

billabye · 12/01/2016 08:27

Yes I am. It's a bit of a fiddle to get right but it's very nice.

billabye · 12/01/2016 11:05

Eugh my mouth tastes awful this morning. Paranoid about smelly breath which isn't good as I work one on one in close proximity Blush

nickdrakeslovechild · 12/01/2016 14:30

Tried the strawberry shake last night with lots of ice and that was ok. The rice pudding this morning was lovely and the veg soup for lunch was ok. I am a bit worried about the carb content, they all seem to have huge amounts in them. I thought to go into ketosis you need the bare minimum of carbs? The only time I have lost weight the the last few years is when I have cut carbs not calories?

billabye · 12/01/2016 14:33

I think its the combination of low carb/very low calorie which leads to ketosis rather than just the carb content if that makes sense

Newme2016 · 12/01/2016 17:28

Everyone is doing so well. Well done!

Day 2 for me, and I am starving! Making the kids dinner so it's danger time.
Made a cup of tea to keep me going. Usually have my last shake around 6.30. Got to keep strong now.

Why is this so hard?

FatRun · 12/01/2016 17:31

new I hate to say it but tomorrow will probably be worse. Just look forward to day 4 or 5 at which point you'll be blissfully in ketosis with no hunger pangs or mood swings in sight!

Newme2016 · 12/01/2016 17:36

Thank you for replying!

I have done this before so I know it was day 5 before I felt better, but I think I had more motivation last time. But at least I have made it to day 2 (I have given up loads of times on day 1).

I am busy tomorrow, so that should help. I think the tea is helping. I must keep going.... It's just hard!

billabye · 12/01/2016 18:01

It's very hard. Even when in ketosis I don't find it easy. Keep ploughing on though and you'll get through it.
