Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

Welcome out

I'm embarrassed to say that I have been eating like a pig and my fridge and cupboards are still full of festive food so the gluttony will continue for a few more days.

Jan 2nd I will be back on track! Onwards and lighter.

Out2pasture · 28/12/2015 22:25

in my past experience I would question salt intake. I would increase my water and possibly take a banana (potassium) to help shift the electrolytes.

no confusion as to where my weight gain has come from sheer lack of any movement even less activity.

i'm well past menopause so my hormone levels are stable (at 0 :)) but my metabolism is soooooo slow.

I've recently purchased an elliptical to help me. no to find the motivation to use it, and stick to counting calories, that where I hope your group can help.

lorelei9 · 28/12/2015 23:55

out, do you mean me?
I don't eat much salt. I'm a bit strange that way.
I looked at the calendar and I think it's hormonal. My stomach is also currently in the next town .... I reckon it will return to my locality on Wednedsay. Doesnt always happen, hence my confusion.

Interesting to know though, a banana will counteract too much salt? I have had a couple of restaurant meals where they seem to have a lot of hidden salt and I've felt the effect later.

Out2pasture · 29/12/2015 00:01

yes lorelei, sorry if not relevant at the moment.

lorelei9 · 29/12/2015 00:07

Out, it's good to know
Because I'm not great with salt, the only thing I can do if I've had too much of it is drink water, so this is handy info Smile
Probably just as well or i might have become a crisp fan...!

lorelei9 · 29/12/2015 00:09

Forgot to say, elliptical is my fave machine for cardio. I'd love to have room for one at home. If you put your choice of music on and even do a short burst a couple of times a day, I reckon you'll love it.

Out2pasture · 30/12/2015 00:11

between 4pm and supper is my worst worst worst time!! I hear cheese calling my name and cashews in the pantry begging to be eaten....nobody would notice a few bits missing :(

lorelei9 · 30/12/2015 00:16

I'm picturing cheeses with cartoon faces crying for attention Grin

Out2pasture · 30/12/2015 01:25

:) I did ten minutes on the elliptical which should balance out the pieces of cheese that didn't make it on top of the eggplant and mushroom bake.

Happy New Year to everyone.

A small loss for me, to be honest it's been quite nice to get back on the healthy eating wagon. During the last fortnight my diet has been appalling so I think my body is craving veg.

I'm back to porridge for breakfast, taking a green smoothie for lunch each day and a 'normal' evening meal, heavy on the veg where possible.

No snacks/eating between meals and I'm aiming to drink more water and herbal tea.

Loss this week, but I ate loads of sugar laden stuff on New Year's eve so quite glad I haven't gained anything.

Happy new year to you Rooster and everyone else too.

This thread is really helping me to keep on keeping on! Thank you all.

RoosterCogburn · 11/01/2016 22:42

It's very quiet on here Smile
I forgot to weigh this morning so I shall add my weight tomorrow. I'm not feeling too hopeful, my eating hasn't been too bad but I haven't been very active.

educatingarti · 12/01/2016 07:48

Rooster, I posted yesterday but it seems to have got lost somewhere between my phone and mn central! Anyway I was 152.5lb again! Wasn't on the ball with food though last week and ate loads of stuff I shouldn't. Determined to keep going though!

RoosterCogburn · 12/01/2016 18:16

Not good, gained 0.6lb
This means that I have been roughly the same weight for the past ten weeks!

I need to really start calorie counting and being strict, too many meals out have been my downfall.

I have two more eating out occasions this month so I shall have to think really carefully about what I eat.

Much better week for me 1.6lb loss.

Onwards and downwards! Having seen THE most unflattering photo of myself today I feel all motivated again. Nothing like chubby cheeks and a huge double chin to galvanise one into action!

Small loss but had a big Sunday lunch out yesterday!

Aiming to go below 150lb for next week!

Rooster, I posted you a reply last week and it got lost somewhere between my phone and MN towers!

Anyway, you are doing really well and are nearly catching me up!

biscuitkumquat · 25/01/2016 12:45

Ladies, hope you don't mind if I join you.

DH has just sprung a surprise holiday on me, and we're going at the beginning of April, and I will NOT enjoy myself unless I do something.

I've set myself a goal of 2lbs a week, and I'm chuffed that I still managed to do it last week after dinner with friends on Saturday & a mega hangover yesterday (Big Mac was needed!)

Week 1 164.5
Week 2 162

RoosterCogburn · 25/01/2016 19:12

Welcome biscuit

Arti, you're doing so well - another loss.

I forgot to weight this morning so will add my weight tomorrow. Am not feeling confident though.

RoosterCogburn · 26/01/2016 21:02

Loud weeping from me - I have gained 3.6lb I have no idea how that has happened, I didn't put on that much Christmas week when I was stuffing my face.

Rooster, I hope that you have lost something this week. You have been doing so well! Do you think it could have been water retention or something?

Welcome biscuit! Under 160lb this week? It is good to have a specific target to aim for.

RoosterCogburn · 01/02/2016 14:26

Phew - lost 1.5lb
Perhaps it was water retention - I have to admit to feeling a bit miserable about the whole weight loss thing last week but I am back on target.
It's looking like I need a minor op later this year and I know that the lighter I am the easier it will be and I should recover faster.

I'm ridiculously annoyed though because I forgot to log my eating on My Fitness Pal on Friday which means my 197 day streak has been wiped!

RoosterCogburn · 01/02/2016 14:27

Forgot to say well done Arti - thats a whopping half stone loss in total!

RoosterCogburn · 03/02/2016 20:04

How's everyone doing?

I'm a bit happier because my MFP streak didn't get wiped, I think because I had added one thing in the morning it still logged the day. That means it's 200 days since I started trying to be more mindful about my eating habits.

Ideally I would have liked to have lost more by this point, but trying to be positive I'm more than a stone lighter than I was this time last year which is good.

educatingarti · 05/02/2016 06:31

Rooster, that is really good. The important thingvis to keep going and you will get there. I've been hovering at about 151lb all week. Would really like to be below 150 by Monday!
Thanks for spotting my half stone milestone. I actually hadn't noticed!
