Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

Mama, your plan sounds good. Healthy habits have got to help!

lorelei9 · 08/12/2015 20:34

Mama, do you mean you will eat as you please but with those healthy habits added in?

MamaLizard · 09/12/2015 02:05

Yep, that's what I mean :)
I'm aiming to do the following positive things to 'crowd out ' the bad things, but otherwise I'm not going to deny myself:

2l water
1 green tea
Vitamin supplements every day
2 portions fruit
4 portions veg
2 portions protein
At least 1 superfood

educatingarti · 09/12/2015 07:44

Mama, I think your idea of doing positive things is a good one. I'm adding in various supplements that are supposed to be helpful with fibromyalgia. Down to 151lb today so feeling a bit better, although I am out for lunch so will have to be careful.

I am determined to keep on as I put weight back on so easily and don't want to waste the effort I've spent so far in losing weight.

MamaLizard · 09/12/2015 21:48

Go for it, arti! That's brilliant. I so admire your determination. I just don't know where mine has gone! A bit of SAD sapping my motivation, I think :) but eating well seems much more manageable than calorie counting, so that's my aim until after Christmas. X

lorelei9 · 10/12/2015 09:54

okay, after thinking it over I have a plan, writing it here so you guys can help me stick to it Grin

work Xmas lunch yesterday so that's done. (and was not nice)

I still don't think there's any way to get out of eating food cooked by host at xmas though obviously I will go easy on portions. But I've blocked out some days in the diary for fasting around Xmas - returning on 27th so that's not too bad, only have to eat breakfast there.

I'm going to stick with a different exercise routine that's more weights based so better at showing appearance results - not my preferred routine for winter because I like daily cardio to help battle SAD but I can see I'm just going to have to grit my teeth and cope with SAD this year.

it's more of a "heavy workout 3 times a week" - bit like Body Pump. With the time I have left it's the best chance of showing a change in physical appearance rather than on the scales.

I'm also going to try to cut to 1000-1200 calories on non-exercise days. That's going to be the hardest bit....! But here goes. Wish me luck!

RoosterCogburn · 10/12/2015 18:48

Good luck lorelei - can you try and eat lots of veg with your meals as a healthier option (assuming they aren't swimming in sauce or butter)

lorelei9 · 11/12/2015 09:38

Rooster, I don't find veg filling - hence I'd rather pop it in the Nutribullet. I only have it because it's good for me. I like salads and things but they can seem odd in winter.

Week 8 152lb

In my defence I've had an awful week both with car problems (knock on effects with work and money) and something that left me with really difficult feelings emotionally (so I ate less well). Ah well! Koko! At least it is a loss!

RoosterCogburn · 14/12/2015 23:10

At least it's a loss Arti, I've managed to gain and I didn't think I had been too bad this week!

lorelei9 · 15/12/2015 16:06

educating - Koko?!

I have lost another half a pound but no whining this week as I'm on this special exercise programme and they did say you've got to watch the tape measure, not the scales.

educatingarti · 15/12/2015 22:21

Lorelei- keep on keeping on!

RoosterCogburn · 21/12/2015 09:14

Lost just under one lb which takes me back to the weight I was four weeks ago. How depressing.

If I can come out of the festive season at less then 158lb I'll be very happy (that's one stone lighter than my starting weight) but realistically I'll probably be heavier.

Another week, another pound. I'm pleased with that but pigged out rather at my first Christmas meal last night and haven't yet dared weigh myself yet today!

Rooster, keep on going!

RoosterCogburn · 22/12/2015 11:20

Well done Arti - you are doing so well.

I'm not giving up! Going to relax (but not go mad) for a bit over Christmas - I made some mince pies this morning so I'm going to have to eat a few.

But come Jan 2nd I shall be back on track - would really like to be another store lighter by Easter.

lorelei9 · 22/12/2015 12:29

well done all!

I am not weighing in - this new workout is making me look different but after getting on the scales I can see why I've been told not to weigh in for at least a month. I'm only really at the start of Week 2. I'm impressed so far. It also seems to be making me more energetic and eat less - but that could be the unseasonably warm weather. Apologies if repeating myself, on another weight loss thread and losing the plot on what I am saying.

I am amazed to look different already but I do. There has been some swearing while I lifted the heaviest weight I've lifted to date though! Grin

I think I'm going to skip breakfast on Xmas Day morning. I realise this will not make me popular, but I just don't see the need for breakfast.

lorelei9 · 22/12/2015 12:30

PS I don't look different to anyone else but the office is closed between Xmas and New Year and I have a feeling people might notice a change by then.

RoosterCogburn · 22/12/2015 15:45

Which workout are you doing Lorelei?

lorelei9 · 22/12/2015 15:59

Rooster, sadly I can't say. It's designed by a contact training to be a personal trainer and she will be selling it online, so I can't share specifics. But tbh there are lots of weight based things around that are similar, it's a combo of cardio and weights circuits.

I've actually watered down what she originally suggested - even though I know someone who really slimmed down on it - because repeated lunges, press ups etc just get so boring. The cardio is Tabatha as well. Killer but good.

lorelei9 · 22/12/2015 15:59

or do I mean Tabata - not sure of spelling!

RoosterCogburn · 22/12/2015 16:33

No worries - not that there is any chance of me adopting any kind of exercise regime. Walking the dog and gardening are about the limit of my physical efforts!

Out2pasture · 28/12/2015 21:16

do you have room for a new group member?
i'm 183.5 and need to get to 150 so 33.5 lbs to go :(
i'm not new to weight loss, in 2008 I successfully went from 188 to 135.....I obviously had difficulty maintaining.
in 2015 I tried on two accounts to start the scales moving with NO luck what so ever.

lorelei9 · 28/12/2015 21:59

Hello Out
Of course we do, welcome along. Smile

I'm a bit confused, I didnt overeat at Xmas but have gained a couple of pounds but then also realised where I am in my cycle and feel irritable....hopefully just pre mens water weight.

Also on this workout where I'm not supposed to weigh myself!

Sadly due to xmas boredom I've agreed to meet friends for lunch on Wednesday then dinner out on NYe but hoping that being careful will help.

After a mere two weeks of a lot of muscle focused exercise, my arms do look much better, now I need the rest of me to catch up.
