SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

It is about halfway down the page. It has the info about breast feeding and HE's.

ledodgy · 03/01/2007 21:55

Well I never went tonight had an indian instead lol. Am definately starting diet again tommorrow though. My best friend went and I got slimmer of the month for December so they clapped me whilst I was eating my indian !

loobysmum · 03/01/2007 23:11

Hi everyone and happy new year! Ah well, back to work for me today, but I didn't go back on plan .... and I've put on loads, (I can tell by the way my arms feel so far from my body when I put my hands on my waist!!. Just made up a load of stuff (rice salad, boiled eggs) in prep for tomorrow. JBB, I can't get to a class either, so perhaps we could support each other when the going gets tough! Ledodgy, loved the mental picture of you tucking into a great big indian while your classmates applauded your slimming achievements! Well done on getting Slimmer of the Month, by the way.

Mazzle · 04/01/2007 09:12

Thanks for the info. That feels like loads of HEs! I'd been sticking to what the book says for the past few days so it'll be nice to be able to eat a bit more!

I can't get to class either JJB and loobysmum so we can definitely support each other. Hope it's all going well

Maz xx

StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 09:25

well done on slimmer of the month..maybe the indian will go 'through' you fast enough not t count then it wont upset your good few weeks???

supermumintraining · 04/01/2007 09:26

is anyone else strugling to get back on plan? Keep intending to, but that is how it remains - an intention to. HELP!!!

p.s. welcome to all the new people joining the group.

StrawberrySnowflakes · 04/01/2007 09:29

im struggling too..NEED to get weight off but with me i either want sweet/ricj food or i just dont bother, making me starving

supermumintraining · 04/01/2007 09:40

i need to get theweight off too, but why is this so hard. I start off the day with great intentions and by lunch time, i've given up. Is it because the children are stil at home, therefore I am behaving as if I am still on holiday yet?

mummyjx · 04/01/2007 11:45

Hi everyone. I also can't get to class so we can have our own on here (but without the "looks"), not that I will be much support to anyone because my willpower is in such short supply I don't think it really exists.
I didn't get back on track yesterday as on Monday we were taken out for a meal by MIL, so we didn't have the chinese takeaway I had to have before I started . We had it last night instead!
I have started today with good intentions and am quite pleased as have only put on 4lb since November (in relation to the big picture though that's nothing to be proud of!) Have made my BF's easy soup for tomorrow and it's free on green - soften chopped onion and garlic with a few mixed herbs, add 2 cans chopped tomatoes, 2 cans chick peas, veg stock and cook, then finish off with a handful of pasta. It's nice, easy, cheap, and my friend makes it thick so it can be like a sort of casserole for the kids with garlic bread and topped with melted cheese.
Am going to make the beef stew off the calendar for tea tonight and a big fruit salad.
Wish it didn't all involve so much preparation and cooking, especially when I can't have a chocolate biscuit as a reward!
(Sorry my posts are always long and boring. I am VERY SAD AND LONELY )

bucksmum · 04/01/2007 11:50

Back on track now. Went to class on Tuesday and had put 7.5 llbs since the encd of November! however still have lost 2 stone 1llb since August so need t focuss on shifting the other 5 stone now! Have planned menu for the week and had an ocado delivery so know exactly what I'm eating which helps.

BethAndHerBrood · 04/01/2007 12:28

I went to class today.

I've put on 7lbs! In two weeks!! How come it's so much harder to lose than to gain?

So, back on track BIG TIME here, just had a bowl of branflakes for my lunch!

I thought we should have a new thread for the new year? What do you all think? It's a long way to scroll down now, isn't it?! [lazy mare emoticon]

dirtywombat · 04/01/2008 00:43

hi...had lost 1and a 1/2 stone and just bought 10 week course when my mum fell ill ( last may).I had to stop going. Mum died in october.I know she wanted me to lose weight ( I'm back up to 17 1/2 stone again ).I just feel as low as a snakes belly...eating for britain. I'm going back next week. Has anyone any recipes or ideas for "picky things" that I can keep to nibble on to help me stay on track when I jump back on the band wagon ( at next Thursdays class ) ? many thanks

Misdee · 04/01/2008 00:50

dirtwomabt, there is a NEW SW thread further down

Honey26 · 29/01/2008 19:33

Hi, Im new here. I joined Slimming World 2 wks ago and have lost exactly 11lbs. 4.5 in my 1st wk and 6.5 in my second, hoping for 3lbs this wk which will take me to a stone in just 3 wks. This plan is easy and if im tempted to eat the kids leftovers i just have a yogurt (shape danone) or some jelly..lol.

zippychick · 29/01/2008 23:20

Ohhhh another SW thread!

Hi everyone ive been doing

1st two weeks of Jan - carol vorderman detox and then from then the SW plan. Lost 4 lb and a lotttttt of bloat and toned up a lot while detoxing.

Lost 5lb in two weeks on SW (3&2) , but had an indian meal out on fridat night and drink on saturday.

Exercising loads, eating 10 syns a day usually and mainly red days

SPicy chickpeas are nice for munchy, free on green and if you cook them right, crunchy like beer nuts - or as close as free on SW can be to beer nuts :D

bingbada · 21/04/2009 15:55
