SLIMMING WORLD - WE CAN DO IT - NEW THREAD

Sparkler1 · 10/09/2006 08:11

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind but thought I'd take the opportunity of starting a new thread as the other one is huge!

So how is everyone getting on? Are you getting through the weekend okay without too many temptations?

I have had a very successful first two days back on the Slimming World Plan. It's surprising how much I remember about it and I haven't been to group for 6+ months. I arranged to go to group with Surfermum this time round. She definately inspired me to get back onto it. She has done so well and her weight loss is really noticeable - she looks great!
When the evening came to go to group I will say that, although I knew that I must lose weight, my motivation wasn't 100% there. Now I have got my shopping in and have started writing out my food diary I am really enjoying it. DH made himself a proper greasy fry up yesterday morning - the works! And I found the willpower to say no - to be honest the smell of the grease was enough to put me off anyway.
Found the new Mullerlight yogs yesterday - they have loads of new ones now don't they? I tried the sticky toffee pudding one - yum!

surprise · 16/09/2006 09:10

enjoy your day expectantmum. I'll be thinking of you while tucking into my jacket spud and beans at lunchtime!

Udder · 16/09/2006 11:00

It was good to read everyones messages but I will not be coming back as I never have any come back from anyone.

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/09/2006 12:54

Aww Udder I'm sorry, please don't go. I have just read your posts and they are very helpful esp. regarding food ideas and I think it's brill you are still 1/2 pound under target. I tend to skip in and out of this thread once a week to update on my progress and see how others are doing and would hate to think i'd hurt anybody's feelings by not answering them.

SusiS · 16/09/2006 14:53

aww udder, guess everyone is just plain busy! you have to stick with us for a while longer (just like with your diet )

not having a very good 'first' day after holiday. finished off ydays pizza but stuck to my small bowl of cereals in the morning and no sweets so far!!

i can do this!!!!!

SherlockLGJ · 16/09/2006 15:03

Udder

You made a statement, you did not ask a question, you will need to toughen up if you are going to last around here.

This board moves at lightning speed and sometimes messages get missed it is not personal.

I had a fruit salad for breakfast today and then had the most amazing omelette for lunch.. I sprayed the pan with fry lite, put onions and mushrooms in to soften.. meanwhile I beat 2 eggs with some skimmed milk from my healthy extra (A), and dropped 2 sliced tomatoes and some ham from healthy extras (B) into the jug.. and poured it over the top of the soft onions and shrooms.. added some herbs, and ate Oh it was delicious!! And it didn't cost me any syns at all!!! All free foods today and mostly yesterday so I could have a chinese tonight.. I was planning on having chow mein but I had chicken with chilli and garlic sauce.. the boiled rice is free (Green day) but I have no idea what to count for the chicken and sauce.. I just marked in my 15syns for it and I have lots left over from during the week... so it should be ok. Just wanted to say, you could add sauted potato to that omelette or cheese from healthy extras... I really cannot believe how much I can eat!!!!!

surprise · 16/09/2006 20:53

ok, there's a packet of choc chip cookies in the cupboard. is it ok to just have one or two??

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/09/2006 20:55

Choc-chip cookies are 3.5 syns each on red and green so as long as you include it in your syns that's fine.

surprise · 16/09/2006 20:59

thanks. wouldn't want to put money on my stopping at two though

badkarma · 16/09/2006 21:25

I just had a chocolate eclair sweet

Dunno how many syns are in that

needhugs · 16/09/2006 21:34

Hello gorgeous mummies!!!

I've just added a new thread in this section called "Need motivation for Weight loss? "after reading your messages thought you might like to read what I did to shift my flab! too long to add to this as you're all in full swing!

mmmmmchoc chip cookies - gimme gimme!

SherlockLGJ · 17/09/2006 11:27

Just cooking a huge SW breakfast.

Bacon, rind off.

Millions of mushrooms.

Fried egg.

Would love some bread to dip in my egg, but............would rather save my sins for later.

Freckle · 17/09/2006 14:12

I've just invested in an Easy Yo yoghurt maker from Lakeland. They do various types of yoghurt, including a low fat one. Does anyone know if this type of yoghurt is the same as the low-fat yog mentioned in the book? Does it have the same value?

I've made loads and am eating loads, so if they are a higher value, I've b&ggered up this week .

Udder · 17/09/2006 14:18

Hi All, Sorry about the stupid message saying I wasn't coming back. Was in a rotten mood and shouldn't have taken it out on you lot. I think this is great as everyone gives their support to each other and are very helpful with all the tips you can pick up. Sorry again. X

SherlockLGJ · 17/09/2006 19:08

No problem Udder, but this board moves at lightning speed these days, LGJ sits back and pines for the good old days.

Mandymoo · 17/09/2006 19:23

Hi ladies - put on half a pound this week but happy with that as not been very good

I have a question - if my weigh in is on a thurs night, could i afford to have a major blow out on a fri night without it affecting me too much by next weigh in? (assuming im extra good for the rest of the week?)

TIA xx

bigbabygapmum · 17/09/2006 19:28

Hell. I am new. First evening posting. can I join? I have a stone to lose after putting on three stone with my son who was born in Feb this year. I joined Scottish Slimmers last week and lost three pounds in the first weigh in so that's good. (second weigh in is this Thursday). The class leader says I should lose sixteen pounds so it's a tall order. I lost two stone by the time my son was four months so I was pleased but then stalemate.

Surfermum · 17/09/2006 19:30

I've got away with it Mandymoo. I went on a meet up and drank 80 syns - and had a meal on top of that which was garlic bread and spaghetti carbonara and a very naughty but nice pudding! I think I lost 2lb that week.

Surfermum · 17/09/2006 19:30

Sorry, hello bigbabygapmum and welcome!

bigbabygapmum · 17/09/2006 19:32

Hello.

Sparkler1 · 17/09/2006 20:24

badkarma and SherlockLGJ - Don't mean to spoil your delicious omelette and SW breakfasts but can I just point out that mushrooms sliced and fried have syns. 28g on both original and green days 2 syns. I found this out the other day.

OP posts:
ledodgyrobespierre · 17/09/2006 20:51

Yeah but they are syn free if you use fry light aren't they?

carol3 · 17/09/2006 20:52

hi sparkler i fry my mushrooms in olive oil fry light which makes them free. This is also is great for roasted
veg. yum

SherlockLGJ · 17/09/2006 20:55

I only used Fry light to start off, and then relied on water content to cook them.

Sparkler, if you are right I will kill you.
