I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

I'm in!
I've got 4 stone to lose too. I lost a stone of it last year using my fitness pal but put it all back on.

I'm 5"4 and my tummy is huge. Went shopping today and literally nothing looked even half nice.

I'm determined!

TotallyAddictedToLurking · 26/12/2013 20:50

Hi TheCircle. I'm having the same problem. I'm 5'3 and my stomach is horrible. I hate shopping and I have stopped taking care of my appearance.

I want to be me again.

Was just thinking this would be a good target to aim for! If I lose 52lbs, I would be bang in the middle of the BMI healthy range :-)

Was going to go with plain calorie counting and a LOT of exercise... Although the 5:2 looks interesting as well but I need to do some more research on it, to be honest...

knittedslippersx3 · 26/12/2013 21:12

I'm in! Not sure how much I need to lose (a lot!). Will weigh myself on the start date.

TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 26/12/2013 21:17

... But I am starting on the 29th...

TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 26/12/2013 21:18

I will be 5:2ing it and training g fora marathon...

I'm in please. Have 3 st of baby weight to shift. Said baby is now 1 !!! Joining weight watchers ASAP and going to hit that gym again. Be good to have extra support in here. Am sooo tired of being the token fat friend !

mrselgar · 26/12/2013 21:18

I would love to join you. I've got about 4 stones to lose. I have a back injury and may need surgery. Need to lose weight first. The difficult bit is not being able to walk or do any exercise. It will probably be very slow, but I would like to join you.

parabelle · 26/12/2013 21:19

I'm in, will be nice to have company. I have been fat now for five years, really need to do something about it this year. Quit smoking last year. This year, it's losing weight.

Flisspaps · 26/12/2013 21:20

I have 40lbs to lose but I'll join in - starting 5:2 with MFP tomorrow (myfitnesspal app for anyone wondering what MFP is with 30 day shred thrown in when I plateau.

ihearttea · 26/12/2013 21:21

I'm in! 52lb would bring my BMI to the middle of the normal range; I haven't been 'normal' for years.

I'll try with MFP and see how that goes. I might join SW if I can't keep on track though.

Just got to get rid of all the naughtiness in the house first!

LaurieFairyCake · 26/12/2013 21:26

I'm in. Will be carrying on with 5:2, lost 2 stone this year

I may even add in some exercise Grin

But im not doing my next fast til Sunday as I'm about to eat a large slice of Garlic Yarg - food of the GODS!

Cookiepants · 26/12/2013 21:27

Me too please. Got 5/6 stone to lose and a big birthday coming up. Don't want to start another decade unhappy in my own skin Hmm

cafebistro · 26/12/2013 21:27

Me me me! I am a classic yoyo dieter. I would be interested to see other s way of losing weight.

Rumplestinkskin · 26/12/2013 21:28

oh yes please I could really do with getting a grip on my weight this year..... gives me a few days to figure out which plan to follow (I've been successful with WW in the past, but I think I've got bored with it)

ApplySomePressure · 26/12/2013 21:29

I'm in! DS is 9mo and I weigh more now than I did during my pregnancy. Hmm

I have MFP too- forgotten all about it. I used to love scanning in all the barcodes!

Sunshinelaulau · 26/12/2013 21:33

I'm in! Have about 7-8 stone to lose and it gets worse every year but determined to have no more excuses and get my arse into gear.. Will wait for my birthday to pass 3rd jan and then I'm on it... Will be joining sw as soon as... It will b lovely having this support Smile

Chants73 · 26/12/2013 21:37

I'm in....have lost weight and regained on so many diets, I think I just need to go slow and steady and make permanent life style changes so it lasts....no idea what I weigh at the moment

StupidMistakes · 26/12/2013 21:39

Im starting my diet on January 2nd. I want to lose about 2 and a half stone and lots of belly tbh. I am joining the gym a week later but cutting out all chocolate and sweets for the first week eating only when hungry not cos of being bored n seeing what happens

PlusSizeHorror · 26/12/2013 21:52

Me!! x 10000

slow and steady is the way to go (personally)

The thought of being 130 lbs this time next year is heady.

I will be doing 5:2 for diet and not sure what to do for exercise yet.

WhyIRayLiotta · 26/12/2013 22:04

I'm in too! 52 lbs would bring me to a size 12. I'm ashamed of how out of shape I've become in the last few years. I'm hoping to get married at the end of next year and I'd like to look more like I did when I met DP, not the overweight, mumsy person I feel like now.

c00k1e · 26/12/2013 22:07

I'd like to join in too. If that's ok. I have 4 stone plus to lose :( will start 2nd jan

paulapantsdown · 26/12/2013 22:16

I'm in!

Going to make a plan!

Rollermum · 26/12/2013 22:19

Great idea! I'm in. I have more than that to lose (62lbs) but would be a great start! I'm a terrible yoyo dieter but now am breastfeeding I need to do something less extreme.

I am planning to do Slimming World as a trial to see if I can lose on it. If after a month I haven't I will focus on giving up sugars.

Good luck everyone!
