52 weeks to lose 52 pound. Anyone in?

I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

I'm in. I have 39lb to lose, and I'll be doing 5:2 and doing the 30 day shred once my stomach muscles are up to it.

Oh, and have 44lbs to lose so am certainly in!!

(stepped on the scales for the first time in 16 months just now. Scary!)

I'm so glad you are all in. I wasn't expecting so many takers.

I just keep thinking about how good I'd feel next Xmas having lost 4 stone!!!

I am starting on 1st Jan but I won't have an official weight until 7th. I'm dreading the weigh in. I haven't weighed myself for a few months. It's going to be a lot. I can feel it on my stomach Sad

I need to start a plan. What I'm going to eat for my three meals and snacks. I get bored easily so I need to make sure that doesn't happen.

I'd prefer a Monday weigh in so I'm less likely to dick around at the weekend and get too lax (weekends are my big Achilles heel) but again I'm happy to go with the majority.

Yes! I'm in. I'm ttc #2 and I'm guessing 4 stone overweight at least. Never ever been out of the obese zone as an adult.

I'll probably weigh myself on Fridays as it fits in best for me.

I'm going to admit my weight now as writing it down will hopefully motivate me to stick to this! I'm 5'8" and weigh 16 stone Blush

My husband thinks I should start now and ignore all the Christmassy treats and choclatey presents we have in the house. I think I should wait until 1st Jan so all the treats will be gone and I can start afresh. What are other people doing?

Hi Justonemore. I'm like you. House full of treats and cheese.

I find I do log everything I am less inclined to lie to myself so I'm starting now. I won't not have any of the good stuff but it'll get me into the habit for the new year.

I've just done a few dances on just dance spurred on by this thread. And am now enjoying a cup of tea and a mince pie (not helpful sorry!).

I'm in. Will be starting January 1st. I'm 13st 9lb (I think - will have to weigh properly before we start) and I'm 5ft 7. Would like to lose 3 stone so that's 42lbs {gulp} Monday is a good weigh in day for me.

Will be doing MFP (been given 1250 cals a day) and DH bought me a years gym membership so I intend to use it!

Yes I think I'll start being careful now but still eat some of the treats, and then get going properly in January. My husband thinks I'm just making excuses!

I am soooo in! Another short arse here, at my current weight I look like a ball. Even the Mr Maker shapes get me down "I am a circle". Hmm

Aiming for a pound a week feels possible. I think 52 pounds would take me to mid healthy bmi and a size 12, which coupled with a few gym visits would be my pre preg size. (ds1 is 5.5).

I have just made the possibly lucky mistake of watching a film called earthlings which has put me off all meat, eggs and dairy. I don't know if it'll last, but today has been strictly vegan because of it. Shock Pretty sure more fruit and veg is what I need though.

So, starting properly this Monday by which time I'll have new batteries for my scales. I'd prefer Monday weigh ins but happy to go with the majority.

We can do this!

Me. I'm in if you'll have me. I actually want to lose 26lb, so would live to join in for the first 6 months if that's ok. I NEED the motivation and joining in on a thread might just be perfect for me.

I'm up for Monday weigh in as it might make me behave over the weekend, and Monday night isn't a good cheat night. I'm 5'7 and weigh 17 stone (238lbs). So need to lose 84lbs total. Going to look up MVP now

I happily joined another weight loss thread ... Then promptly ignored it as I just wasn't ready. I have now however had my DH ( who has seen me smaller and also 2 sizes bigger than I am now and never once said a word ) say he's worried about our health now we're no longer in our 20s !
He wants me around for a long, long time .
I also feel tired, bloated, my jeans ( size 16 ) are too tight and for a woman of 5 foot I look like one giant ball with weight on me.
Christmas do was miserable, I was the biggest one there by far ??
A friend posted a pic of me on fb, I look fat and old ...
So ! What are we all trying ? Mfp ? Sw ? Ww ? ( should say now I've tried them ALL !)

I don't own scales either Duchess. Was thinking of making myself use the one in Boots.

Method wise, I'm planning on 5:2. I did it before and it was great, but I stopped when hideous real life shit got in the way.

I've just throw out all the treats, feels good! DH has suggested a filthy KFC, but I have resisted!

I should probably throw all the treats out but I'm not sure I can force myself to. I did give away a whole box of Ferraro Roche the other day.

Count me in too! I'm 5st-ish overweight.

I'll be using a free local initiative run by the Nhs. So sw it is. Start date is 8th of Jan but will cut down before. After reading this I have also signed up to mfp.

I am mortified to say I am squeezing into my jeans and feel awful.
