TotallyAddictedToLurking · 26/12/2013 19:58

I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

Weigh in day for me. I have managed to lose 1lb. Not sure I would, have been eating a bit more this week as am ravenously hungry. It is also the week before my period and that never helps....

Am now under the sofa with a quilt as feel like I have flu / chesty thing going on. Feel rough. Can see my weight-loss-aiding-hour-long dogwalks falling by the wayside the next few days as I feel all weak and jelly-legged....

Bleurgh.

loopybear · 03/02/2014 06:16

I've put 1lb on this week. Time of the month and 2 dinner parties this weekend so ok with it .

PuggyMum · 03/02/2014 13:02

Stayed the same again. That's 3 bloody weeks. I've changed milk in Horlicks to water as this was where I was justifying extra cals for breastfeeding!

Gym going well though. Body pump 3 x a week and pilates and Nia.

Hopefully the scales will start to shift soon!

Applesnotcakes · 03/02/2014 14:20

stay with it puggy, you'll get there in the end

how's everyone else doing? hope the ill people are feeling a bit better

just managed to scrape a pound off this week - well 0.8 the first time I got on the scale, 1.0 with a strategic lean.

slimsoon · 03/02/2014 18:17

why do the scales change if you move them about the room ?
Ihave been inspired by people noticing my weight loss over the weekend.
Weigh in Wednesday but added much more exercise this week so fingers crossed the scales have shifted without me shifting them around !

TheFowlAndThePussycat · 04/02/2014 07:55

2lbs off this week - so lost the one I put on last week and lost one more. So that averages out at 4lbs over 4 weeks now.

Start weight 13st 10
Latest weigh in 13st 6.

Well done losers Grin

If you didn't lose last week - keep your chin up, we're in this for the long run! Next week is a clean slate.

slimsoon · 05/02/2014 05:29

Another loss on my Wednesday weigh in
start 1/1- 213
Today 203

Rupeomatic · 05/02/2014 10:41

A pound off this week - pleased with that. A couple of meals out for birthdays at the weekend - I tried to make good choices under the circumstances, so pretty pleased.

Start weight : 13st 7
Today's weight : 13 st

Half a stone lost Grin

Well done to everyone who is sticking with it!!

peanutbutterandbanana · 05/02/2014 18:24

A smaller loss for me this week - 0.6lb - but at least it is a loss and that's 8.2lbs since 7th Jan so am happy. The path to gorgeousness is not a straight one. Keep going everyone Grin

headoverheels · 07/02/2014 07:45

Hope the ill people are feeling better!

I weighed myself today and I've lost another 2lb! Really pleased.

Start: 13st 0lb
Now: 12st 4lb
Total loss: 10lb in 5 weeks

WhenDoISleep · 09/02/2014 07:40

Start weight: 13st 13lbs
Today: 13st 9lbs
Weight lost: 4lbs
Week: 5

I completely forgot to post last weekend. I have managed to sabotage myself this last fortnight - it is a familiar pattern. I do we'll for a couple of weeks, then restart eating everything I shouldn't. I have stopped drinking so much water and there has been quantities of chocolate consumed.

Today is a new day and I am starting over.

Applesnotcakes · 10/02/2014 07:45

Morning all,

Stayed the same for today's Monday morning weigh in. Was on track for a one pound loss on sat and sun but boozy lunch yesterday wrecked that.

Got three meals out this week but need to keep on top of things in between to try for a 2 pound loss by next Monday. Will take a bit of effort I think.

How's everyone else doing? Back on it?! Find that motivation!

slimsoon · 12/02/2014 05:05

Down 1 more pound 202 from 213.
Where is everyone ?

Rupeomatic · 12/02/2014 08:27

Stayed the same this week. I relaxed a bit last week, thinking I would make up for it, then picked up a virus and barely moved all weekend (but it didn't affect my appetite of courseGrin)

So start weight 13st 7
Current weight 13 st

Half a stone in 3 weeks and back in the zone today...

OpposableThumbs · 12/02/2014 10:01

Start weight: 14st 5lbs
Today: 13st 8lbs
Weight lost this week: 0lb
Weight lost total: 11lb

The week before last I had flu so no appetite, lost 3.5lb in a week. Sadly this week my appetite has returned but I have no energy so I have been eating crap. Actually quite pleased to have stayed the same and still be ahead of target. I'm now only overweight rather than obese which has got to be good news.

peanutbutterandbanana · 12/02/2014 17:11

Last week I lost 0.6lb, this week I lost 3lb. I did exactly the same amount of exercise, had two fast days (5:2) and ate roughly the same amount of calories on both weeks. Weird.

Anyway, delighted to now be 11.2lb lighter after five weeks. The 5:2 plan and logging everything on MFP is really working for me, touch wood. Have a good week everyone Smile

Racheyg · 13/02/2014 17:28

Hi peanut, I see you are doing the 5:2 diet. What do you eat on fast days? I do weight watchers and mfp but tempted by the 5:2.

slimsoon · 14/02/2014 03:38

I am on my sixth week of roughly following a paleo/primal eating plan . I have dropped all the refined sugar and carbs and cut a lot of dairy as a consequence . As well as losing weight , I feel much more energetic and am sleeping really well.
The twice I have eaten foods containing wheat flour since starting I have really noticed the effect, with abdominal pain ,bloating and wind.
I have always been very skeptical of elimination diets but this is really working for me.

forgetdieting · 14/02/2014 16:04

I was a yo-yo dieter for years and know how difficult it was losing weight then regaining it all. One of the things that helped me most was to look at all the bits and pieces I snacked on throughout the day. I didn't realise just how many calories I was taking in this way. A biscuit here, a sweet there, it all added up to as much as 500 calories on one day. It's hard to stop snacking, because it's prob become a bit of a habit.

saladfingers · 15/02/2014 08:41

opposablethumbs we are very similar
height 5ft 7
starting weight 14st 8
weight today 13st 8
no longer obese bmi 29.8

Have been using the 5:2. While I'm pleased to have lost a stone since 6th Jan am disappointed it has slowed down. Don't have time for exercise at the moment. Work 7.30am to 5.30 then Smile home for homework tea bath and bed 4 kids. I know I need the exercise. Any tips of how to fit it in?Smile Smile

WhenDoISleep · 16/02/2014 11:45

Start weight: 13st 13lbs
Today: 13st 9lbs
Weight lost: 4lbs
Week: 6

Stayed the same this week but after sabotaging myself I am happy with that and hope to have started moving in the right direction again next weigh in.

Is the thread going to continue once we hit 1000 posts?

Iamapplesnotcakes · 18/02/2014 13:19

stayed the same too, too much snacking and booze.
Need to get a grip and move on a bit - been 2 weeks in a row of no loss

will try a couple of sort of fast days I think - 800/900 cals is as good as I can manage

bigwellylittlewelly · 18/02/2014 13:25

No idea why this thread fell off my list.

I've been really ill for three weeks, flu leading to pleurisy, very nasty indeed and weight loss was honestly the last thing on my mind. I have no idea how people cope with long term health complications, especially with very small children.

Anyway. I've lost a full stone, and now 13.7 with three stone still to go. Sticking to a walk every day and logging food in MFP.

slimsoon · 18/02/2014 15:34

I'll make a new thread - 52 weeks to lose 52 pounds ( 2)
