I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

Right, I've ordered new scales which I will get tomorrow thanks to the free trial of amazon prime they offered me for December.
I have a holiday planned and I need to lose weight for it or we'll all miss out on some stuff that I won't be able to do. Motivation is not my strong point though....
glinda I have about 6 stone to lose as well and, like you, I do not want to be fat and fifty so I need to get a move on.

I'm in! I shall be using WW with a bit of 5;2 thrown in! Have just been perusing Aldi/Lidl for fitness related offers. Probably three stones or a bit more to come off.

Count me in. I've done WW in person before but I can't get to mtgs now. Is WW online worth it or should I just MFP it ?

I've done this before. I'll do it again. I remember how good it feels to take back control !

Someone on here said they will be weighing Monday AMs so shall we just follow that? Might be a good motivator for the week ahead too.

I have the 30day sjred dvd still in its wrappings so.will open that 1st Jan. Need trainers as ive been zumbaing in my converse and camt carry on.

Monday would be good, like you say with the week ahead. It gives a few days from the 1st as well, assuming some folk are starting them? I am kind of starting now by being reasonably sensible (I just turned down the offer of a bacon sandwich as I wasn't hungry, I would have said yes a few days ago) but i will be finishing off xmas goodies and binning what is left on the 1st.

Yes, also syarting officially from the 1st, but am tracking on MFP from today - trying to pick sensibly but know I have til the 1st.

DH wants a Chinese take away tonight - anyone know what the most sensible option would be?

Ken you can have it spicy and with a sauce, get the flavour that way? I have water chestnuts with bamboo shoots with chilli and ginger, then have rice with garlic or something. Lots of flavour and most places are happy to add spices for you.

MyNameIsKen - I'd go for a foo young. Eggs are high protein and not too unhealthy. I found that one of those was filing even without rice.

5 years ago I lost 6 stone. I have since put roughly 4 of them back on. I feel and look awful Sad

I have no working scales though. And even if I did I would be terrified to get on them.

This could be a problem, right?

I'm in, I promised myself I'd like weight in 2013 and I've got fatter instead. So depressed about it. I went on a thread for losing before Christmas but someone put me down and I quit.

I sound needy! I'm not needy I've been pathetic I need to get my act together!

I haven't weighed myself recently but I'm going to start on the 4th Jan (when I'm back home). I'm guessing I need to lose about 2 stone.

5:2, MFP, davina DVD and taking up jogging (I can't run 100m yet, but I'm going to aim for 10k)

Come on! We can do this! 2014 is our year!
