I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

Well, I'm a few days in and feeling so much better! I sat down in my jeans and didn't notice them (iykwim). Noting everything I eat on WW and eating what seems like my own body weight in fruit Grin I've also turned down an invite for a Burns Night dinner, because I just need a first week where I give myself every chance of doing well.

WhenDoISleep · 26/01/2014 10:11

Start weight: 13st 13lbs
Today: 13st 5.75lbs
Total lost: 7.25lbs
Weeks: 3

Yay! Another week, another loss and I'm down half a stone from when I started. My first weight goal is to be 12st something by my birthday in late Feb, which looks achievable.

Had a nasty cold this week so have been slightly less good on drinking water (and on liquid intake overall) so I want to pick that back up. I have stopped having coffee as a routine habit after the school run again which I am happy about. I also want to make sure I enter food/drink into my WW app when it is consumed, rather than trying to remember it later in the day.

Have a good week everyone!

BigWellyLittleWelly · 26/01/2014 22:49

I'm now 13.9lb, I have lost 12lbs since the 1st January.

I'm setting MFP to 1700calories a day, because I'm breastfeeding, and with DH also on board we are encouraging each other.

However. I'm still struggling with a sugar habit. Is there anyone who would be interested in a sugar free February? I'm going to need some serious hand holding!

loopybear · 27/01/2014 07:15

Week 3
Start weight 15st 0lbs
Total loss 8lbs
Loss this week 4lbs

really pleased as but I need to remember slow and steady wins the race. Going to start doing some proper exercise this week.

loopybear · 27/01/2014 07:19

I'm pretty much sugar free but will give up my little bit of chocolate for lent. DH is training for the London marathon so eats pretty what he wants and give me 4 chunks of diary milk on Friday which works for me.

TheFowlAndThePussycat · 27/01/2014 08:48

1lb on this week Sad

Back to 13st 8, start weight 13st 10.

I thought that I had done well this week, but then I ate out a lot, which is really hard to log on MFP, so looks like I underestimated.

BigWelly I'm going to do a sugar-free Lent, which starts on 5th March? Bit later than you wanted to do it, but I don't think I'm ready to do it in Feb!

Well done on all the losses.

loopybear · 27/01/2014 13:01

I find eating out the hardest. I enter the dish, choose the highest calorie one and enter a portion and a half as the portions are always big. I usually ask for a starter and side salad to come as a main which really helps.

Applesnotcakes · 27/01/2014 13:24

Official weigh in

This year's start 13 st 13
Current 13st 7

Total loss 6lbs this year
This week's loss 3lb

happy with that - last week I was 2lbs up so this week got rid of those and managed another, proper one. Now at my lowest since before DD was born (she's 16 next month Blush)

Looking forward to getting into the next half stone. Working on down through that, and then being in the 12s - which would be amazing.

We're got a few days in France in the Easter holidays so that's my next target - 12 stone something by end of March.

Well done to the losers and stick with it supportive vibes to the non-losers. Sometimes you just need a bit of patience...

Official weigh in

Start weight: 17 st 1lb
This week gained 2lb Sad
Total loss 12lb
Weight now 16st3lb

I'm a bit disappointed but I know it's because I ate too much on most of my fast days. At least I have still lost a good amount and I'm going to be more careful this week.

Well done to everyone who has lost!

BrokenButNotFinished · 27/01/2014 17:16

Weighed this morning... and... Nothing. No movement AT ALL. If anything I was a tiny tiny bit heavier. And this is after a good week, with two BMF sessions, swimming, dog walking every day - none of which I logged. Angry

I feel good though, so I guess I'll just plough on...

BehindLockNumberNine · 27/01/2014 20:36

Forgot to share this: I weighed myself last Saturday morning and had lost just over 1.9lbs. Very pleased.

And (and I don't know if it is mere wishful thinking) but this morning my normally uncomfortably tight black work trousers felt much less tight and almost comfortable Grin

Total loss is now around 8lbs, not bad in 4 weeks!!

Chants73 · 27/01/2014 21:44

Am not keeping up with the thread as focusing on mfp (user name purplechants)
Anyway, 5lb off this week (not sure how) so have lost a stone since 30 Dec.

PuggyMum · 28/01/2014 09:33

Stayed the same again!

But I am loving being back in the gym. Feeling fitter and clothes are not fitting!

I really do need to log properly on mfp as I know I could be making calorie savings but I really haven't been 'naughty'!

Well done on all the losses though!

headoverheels · 29/01/2014 08:09

Hi all, weighing in today. I've only lost 1lb in the last 2 weeks which is a bit disappointing, will have to be more careful next week. Still, I'm pleased with my overall loss this month.

Start: 13st 0lb
Now: 12st 6lb
Total loss: 8lb in 4 weeks

Rupeomatic · 29/01/2014 08:25

Today's weight 13st 1

Well done to all who are losing pounds/have looser clothes/are feeling better Smile

slimsoon · 29/01/2014 15:23

1lb off .
Start 213lb so 8lbs since 1/1/14.

Hoping to hit a stone off by this time next month.

peanutbutterandbanana · 29/01/2014 21:14

Great to see so many people losing weight and feel for those who haven't as it happens to all of us at some point on this very long and slow journey......

I've lost 1.5lbs this week, so a total of 7.5lbs in three weeks - am already on my way to my next half stone (only by half a pound!). That first stone is going to be so exciting!

Issyw · 30/01/2014 09:38

So I started 2 weeks ago on slimming world and 1 Zumba class a week and in my first week I lost 4.5 lbs and am weighing in again tonight. Had a terrible week as had to go on a chocolate truffle making course which was an Xmas present and am going on an all inclusive weekend away this weekend so fear I may have to start again on my return. How is everyone else getting on?

Issyw · 30/01/2014 09:46

Ps

Starting weight 12st 5.5lbs
Need to lose 3 stone to get back to pre prego weight
At last weigh in lost 4.5 lbs
Weighing in tonight

Ok 2lb off. Quite chuffed with that considering I drank alcohol on Saturday and ate junk on Sunday looks like the shred is working :)
Well done everyone for your loss x

sammyc14 · 30/01/2014 09:58

Forgot to mention that this is supposed to help weight loss by giving the metabolism a big boost. My sister swears by it! Would anyone like to join me? I definitely prefer the idea of losing weight by increasing metabolism rather than eating less!

BigWellyLittleWelly · 30/01/2014 23:03

I've fallen off the wagon. Both dc ill as am I (bronchitis or flu apparently) and so will get back on track when I'm recovered!
