Today is a big day for me, a turning point! I've always been 'big' however have just been getting bigger and bigger. I want to lose 6 stone- starting from today.

Anyone else in the same boat who would like to swap inspiration and tips? Today I've planned to eat healthily and go for a nice long walk Grin

Morning all. Dh was off yesterday (rarer than a rare thing!) so we went out for the day. We ended up out for lunch where I had a chicken wrap and swapped fries for a salad and unusually skipped a starter and a pud. We later stopped by a cafe to get a drink and dh had a cake. A gorgeous looking brownie wanted me to eat it but I didn't give in Grin

We also ended up having dinner out by which time I was craving comfort food as I started to feel a bit ill and had sausages, mash, peas and gravy (though it was a really small portion) with 2 regular glasses of wine. Then I succumbed to 3/4 of a fudge cake with a little bit off custard which dh finished.

I enjoyed it all and am back on it today.

Hope everyone has a good day :)

That's the right attitude Sirzy! I am still lazing in bed while DH deals with the kids. Not sure what to do today, I fancy going for another swim but not sure it is fair on him to dump the kids on him again.

Missed weigh in yesterday as we were on a day out to Standedge canal tunnel.
I took the opportunity to get some yummy chocolate biscuits, very much enjoyed and now back on track.

This week is going to be a boring week but hopefully a weight loss week:
Porrige for breakfast
Soup and small bread roll for lunch
Fish with veg for tea
All snacks will be fruit
Exercise will be horseriding for tomorrow, my bum is going to ache all week, and cycling to town(2 miles) to check route for college.
Hopefully I will stick to this for more than 2 days.

Morning all - doesn't feel like Monday today!

I'm meeting some old old friends for lunch today but they're all skinny minnies so I'm sure it will be salads all round. There's been rather a lot of eating out this BH weekend but I've been making healthy choices and enjoying someone else doing the cooking and washing up, rather than beating myself up about it.

Will have a strict day tomorrow and lots of exercise then see what the scales say on Weds.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday everyone Grin

Morning ladies. Just caught up with the thread

I'm back from my camping trip. Made some dreadful food choices and drunk way too much. On the plus side I got LOADS of exercise. Also I logged everything on MFP.

Just downloaded the information from my Ki Fit and despite all the food and drink I have managed to hit a calorie deficit due to all the exercise.
I'm optimistically hoping for a loss this week.

Plan to get back on track this week. Returning to work 2 weeks today and want to have lost something decent by then.

Good luck everyone.

Happy Monday everyone.

Isaac, love your determination and treating yourself at the end of the day. I'd have done the same.

WI day for me, and despite my stupid sneaky WI on Saturday, I've managed to lose 1lb. Really pleased with that. 8lbs in 2 weeks, brilliant!

My sister is coming over this afternoon, she will no doubt bring cake.

Hope everyone has a lovely sunny bank holiday.

Brilliant lego. Mid week weigh ins are bad. Fighting the stare of the scales as we speak. Will not weigh till weds. Will not weigh till weds.

I have to admit the diet is painful with dh around all day. The only weight issues he has ever had is putting enough on! So he has no real clue how hard this is for me and that cooking giant roasts is not going to help. I am trying to be good. Balancing big dinners out with eating nainly fruit and veg for the rest of the day.

I have done well today but going for a carvery tonight. The carvery itself isn't too bad it's the call of the starters I have to ignore!

Hi, would it be ok if I joined in? I have 2 stone left to loose to get back to the size I have always been up until I had my 4th baby in November. I've already lost 21lbs in 6wks just by doing 4:3 and on the other days sticking to 1200cals on mfp. It would be great to chat to others in the same boat as me. I don't really have any friends and I've been feeling so worthless since piling the weight on. But my willpower has gone through the roof. I'm so determined. I gave up proper coke and now drink at least 3 litres of water a day and no other drinks. I'm certain that I will be get there for my baby's first birthday.

Hi all and welcome to random Smile

well done Lego 8lb in 2 weeks is great!

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week and a nice bank holiday.

I've just been out with family and was planning to eat jacket potato with beans and no butter but the only choices were chips chips and more chips oh and some toasties too. I ended up with a cheese toastie but its so frustrating that I didn't even want to 'cheat' it was just a really limited menu. I resisted the chips well I might have had a cheeky one and I also resisted ice cream Grin

I'm off to my friends now for tea and belated birthday cake - don't think I can resist that!

Welcome random. It's interesting what you say about drinking loads of water - I am really finding that I am drinking a lot more since I started dieting, is anyone else finding this or is it just a coincidence?

Sirzy - having a starter might not be disastrous as long as it is a 'good' one - if there is a healthy choice it might be better psychologically to have one and then cut down how much you eat for your main course to compensate, rather than risk sitting there feeling sorry for yourself while everyone else has one.

the starter I want doesn't class as healthy! Will see how it goes might just give in!

I make myself drink more water, I think before I started I was quite dehydrated!

Hi everyone, I've lost 19 lb with slimming world. Not sure how much I want to loose, prob another 30 lbs. Had a good week last week but a few bad ones before that. I've been going 7 weeks and have just managed to get into a smaller size of jeans this week

I'm not really noticing too much of a change in my appearance yet. My BMI has come down from 33 to 28 though!

Hi,

Can I join please? I have probably 6 plus stone to lose, I dont know because I dont have any scales Blush. My son will leave school next year and when parents go to the celebrations I really dont want to be the fatest person there. This weekend I am buying some scales and I will set about getting organised. In the past I havent really tried much as I can never get started, it always seems too much like hard work, but this week I have been drinking more water, less alcohol and tea and having salad with my meal, its only been a few days but Im also paying more attention to myself which is helping. I need to exercise, I would say more but really its some as I do nothing at all although I do go to work full time. I'm still reading the whole thread for tips, good luck everyone.

Happy Bank Holiday everyone!
I'm working today, so stopped at m&s on the way in and bought loads of prepared fresh fruit. My Boss had made a cake and I had half a slice. And I don't really like cake that much. Stupid Stupid. it was about the size of a kipling cake bar, so I'm going to count it as 5 pp in my WW plan.

Welcome Moomins and Isthiscorrect.

Moomins, I am doing SW too, have only just started though but I am finding it really good so far.

Isthis, have you got any plans for what kind of diet you are going to follow? I have tried losing weight many many times over the years, sometimes following a plan (usually Weight Watchers, now Slimming World), and I find that I do much better when on a plan, not because the plans are so amazing, but because they usually show my that my idea of 'healthy' isn't quite good enough.

We are going to need a new thread soon!

Hi everyone, can I join you? Have been a member of SW online since last November but haven't followed it (talk about a waste of money!). Am determined to start properly tomorrow and would love to be able to chat to you all about how I am getting on, and to support you all on your weight loss journey as well.

Hi to all the new people!

At my weight-in this morning, I have lost 1st 1.8lb since I went on holiday in April - which also means I'm back to the weight I was after DS was born. I did fall off the wagon spectacularly for a few weeks in the middle, as well as wasting a while low-carbing when it was obvious that it wasn't going to work again. 2st 1lb to go until I am back to the weight I was when I got pregnant (my first benchmark, because if I got pregnant at that weight before, I can do it again, no?).

DS's 1st birthday party is in 3 weeks time. I would love to be back in my favourite pair of size 18 jeans for it... I wonder what my chances are?

I really agree with what people have said about photos though. I hate photos, but have been making an effort to get some taken with DS. I've noticed that I'm in more over tha last few weeks though!
