2013 Weight Watchers over here!

The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

Tan I definitely fall into that category. When I did WW after I had DD I lost 3 stone and I kept a record of my weight loss in my diary. I have been looking back at that record and it showed really clearly that I would have a week every month around my period where I either didnt lose or it would be a very small loss.

I found it helpful to remind myself of this and also that sometimes you hit a plateau and dont lose for a few weeks. The important thing is not to lose faith and start comfort eating but to stick with the plan. If you stick with it, then more weight will start coming off again.

I am due my period so I am bracing myself for tomorrows weigh in.

chillyigloo · 07/02/2013 17:38

Oooh - just noticed our thread is likely to hit 1000 posts before the end of the week! How exciting! Surely that's good reason to have a celebratory bar of curly wurly Grin

SallyBear · 07/02/2013 17:59

Chilly - how about this 100g fresh cooked pasta sauteed with 2 chopped rashers of bacon medallions (trimmed back bacon), crushed garlic, chopped mushrooms then stirred into the hot pasta with a tablespoon of pesto and a tablespoon of Parmesan mixed through it. 8pp

mrsv2 · 07/02/2013 20:11

Hi everyone.....had another good day today. Went to a friends for coffee and didnt have a biscuit. went to costas this pm and had an americano and watched my DD eat cake. Had 3pp left after tea so have just had a curly wurly......what a treat on day 2, still havent touched my 49extras as want to have treats at the weekend with family time.........
Had spicy root veg and lentil casserole for tea ( recipe on thread) for 8pp.....i cooked it just for me so weighed out all the pointed food accurately and added an extra carrot. Feel like i had a huge portion and it was yummy :)

chillyigloo · 07/02/2013 20:29

Delicious Sallybear Smile Didnt have any bacon in the fridge but didn't have any better ideas, so I made it without and it was still deliciously tasty and filling.

Thank you Thanks

jazzcat28 · 07/02/2013 21:13

Welcome to all the newbies!

Am knackered after a very long day at work but found time to post tonight's dinner on the recipe thread - spicy king prawn spaghetti only 9pp or 12pp depending on your pasta portion size. Very yummy and very filling!

onthemetro · 07/02/2013 21:30

Welcome everyone! Can't believe this thread is almost full, what a lovely thread it's been Smile

For dinner I had a Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus steak burger (6pp) and roll (4pp) with a tablespoon of ketchup (0pp for 1tbsp, 1 for 2. I don't like lots of ketchup so 1tbsp was more than enough for me) a massive salad, and 65g of light halloumi (4pp). It was absolutely delicious, and it reminded me how much I love halloumi (a lot!). DP and I have said we're going to have halloumi salads (without the burger) for lunch this week.

I'm writing up my dissertation proposal right now but I'm falling asleep after a long day...just want my bed! Had two digestives (4pp!) to use up the rest of my points and because I wanted something a little naughty, and as I thought I immediately wanted to finish the whole pack off! But I've resisted and I feel really proud, in a sad sort of way Grin

SallyBear · 07/02/2013 21:48

Glad to have been of help Chillyigloo. I do love a bit of pesto pasta! I fact we had it tonight, hence why I knew the point values!!

NoWayNoHow · 08/02/2013 08:05

Morning all and welcome to the newbies! Not long now before a new thread!!

WI this morning, and I've lost 1.8lbs - this takes my total loss since 11/01/13 to 7.25lbs so I've hit my first half stone! Really pleased, had another week this week that started with a great weekend where I didn't deny myself, and finished with still 18 weeklies left.

It's so good to know that if you just do what you're supposed to and track what you're supposed to, you WILL lose weight no matter what you eat!

jazzcat28 · 08/02/2013 08:57

Amazing loss well done noway!

I'm weighing in tomorrow morning and still have 36 weeklies left... Very tempted to have a treaty day but don't want to jeopardise the scales tomorrow!

Zero point soup a la Vajazzle on the menu for lunch today.. Might have a nice slice of bread and butter with it

SallyBear · 08/02/2013 09:17

I've counted all week as I'm saving my weeklies for Sunday as I'm off to London to meet up with friends for lunch. I'm looking forward to a nice lunch and day out at Westfield before trundling to the BBC to see a friend take part in a game show.
I've got chicken breasts in the fridge so I was thinking that I will make a Thai Red Curry tonight. I haven't had one for ages, and have a yearning for lime, coconut and coriander flavours. Smile

onthemetro · 08/02/2013 10:21

Well done on the loss NoWay! It's good to hear that you used some of your weeklies - I used almost all of them the day after WI last week and I've been terrified of touching them since! It hasn't been hard to just use my dailies but I have been wondering what kind of effect this will have on my weight loss tomorrow...

Ooh Sally, hope you have fun on Sunday! I went to see Pointless being filmed at the BBC last year, it was a lot of fun Grin

jazz, good luck for tomorrow!

I just had some porridge for breakfast and treated myself to some semi skimmed milk instead of my usual skimmed Grin

AddictedtoCrunchies · 08/02/2013 11:31

_

That is all.

I've done my usual..stick to it for 3 weeks then fall off the wagon spectaularly. I'm off on holiday on Sunday so just need to keep myself under control while I'm away.

Arse Angry Angry Sad Sad

AddictedtoCrunchies · 08/02/2013 11:31

Gained 3lbs btw Sad

NoWayNoHow · 08/02/2013 11:40

Thanks all. I do really think that the low carbing is making a big difference, as my losses in the last 2 weeks since I started have been much better than the rubbish losses from the first two weeks. HOwever, I'm still treating myself, still having lovely weekends with wine and yummy food, and still losing. I know this is only because I'm tracking every single mouthful and not lying to myself about what I'm eating, but it's really rather liberating knowing I will lose consistently if I do this!

I have a big night tonight - friends coming over and I'm making a 3 course meal with wine from scratch (just making the food, obviously - I haven't become a wine-maker overnight!!) - I've tracked everything already and taken what I need out of my weeklies although I'm certain I'll need to dip in for a few more as wine is my downfall so trying to be good today.

onthemetro matching you for breakfast! Had my porridge with banana and maple syrup. Lunch is going to be difficult, though, as I haven't had time to make any 0pp soup, so probably going to have stick with low-fat cup-a-soup and starve!

NoWayNoHow · 08/02/2013 11:43

x-post with crunchie - sorry for your gain Sad but really glad to see the line already drawn! Just try to stick to it for the next couple of days so that you get back into the swing of things before you go away. A week is just one week, and a blip is just that - a blip. It doesn't have to be the end of all your hard work.

OhTheConfusion · 08/02/2013 11:44

Crunchie... your line is there for a reason!

Have fun when away and pack the frylight!

Welcome to all the newbies, this has been a real help to me so far. Will pop in over the weekend if I hit a rough patch... if not see you all post weigh in on Tuesday [EEEEEkkkkkkkkk] !

AddictedtoCrunchies · 08/02/2013 12:25

thanks. We're off to the West Highlands so hopefully I will get lots of long walks and nice healthy food in. Onwards and upwards. Smile

flatmouse · 08/02/2013 13:35

Crunchie use your line, enjoy your holiday and do some lovely walks - would love to visit Highlands - enjoy!

Friday feeling, if i stick to half a bottle of wine and no kettle chips tonight then i won't be digging into my winelies weeklies yet :) Had grapefruit and blueberries for breakfast, omelette for lunch and dinner tonight is HD salmon with ginger and fresh chilli - has been marinading in fridge all day and looks and smells fantastic! (Served with steamed veg and brown rice).

Did manage to up my exercise slightly this week (but only slightly). Have done two days of shred. Am hoping that this is build up to getting my head sorted for doing 5 days shred next week!

Jeans are definitely looser - this weekend i shall be mostly trying on my wardrobe, to put clothes in order of how tight/can't get in yet, so i can set them as mini goals :)

CiderwithBuda · 08/02/2013 15:02

I need a Crunchie line!

I stupidly stupidly had one slice of bread yesterday. Which led to cravings for crap and also had a few glasses of red wine. Finished mini binge with more bread today. Havent been tracking so not sure what damage I have done points wise. And we have friends over for dinner tomorrow night and the menu is not WW friendly.

Will be good except for dinner tomorrow.

Everyone else seems to be doing really well which is encouraging.

Crunchie - enjoy your holiday. Don't stress to much. Sometimes you need to just forget it and start afresh afterwards.

SallyBear · 08/02/2013 15:57

Crunchie, have a fab holiday and just don't stress about it. You will be back in it once you get back home.

In the meantime, I have started a new thread as we are about to exceed the limit of posts! Thread #2
See you there!!

NoWayNoHow · 08/02/2013 17:27

cider if it's any consolation, I need a crunchie line too! I didn't prepare myself properly for lunch, so ended up having 4 oatcakes with reduced fat hummus and a cup-a-soup as I have a big, non-WW friendly dinner, tonight - 9pp !! For frickin' oatcakes!

Needless to say I was starving just a couple of hours later, so have just polished off half a tub of Philly light and about 6 breadsticks Blush.

Not even going to track it - I only have 20 weeklies to last till next Friday (have already tracked tonight), so just going to work on the assumption that I have no weeklies, and just be really good after tonight. Well, try to be anyway!

chillyigloo · 08/02/2013 21:45

Weight Watchers zero point dairy spread is not worth even spending zero points on! Bring back the lurpak light - all is forgiven!

That it all. Grin

CiderwithBuda · 11/02/2013 13:39

Hi all. Been really bad all weekend I'm afraid. Have gained over a kilo. So I have decided that at the moment I need something new to motivate me so have decided to try the 5-2 diet. I will be sticking to two fast days and then eating sensibly the other days so may still do WW - not sure yet.

I think six months of yo-yo-ing on WW is enough and I need a new approach.

Hope you are all doing ok. It's a bit quiet here today!
