2013 Weight Watchers over here!

The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

Do people use all of their weekly points? My points reset on Wednesday, and so far I've used about 10...should I aim to use them all?

Mathsdebater, your goals sound great, and well done on the weight loss so far! I think doing some exercise throughout the day like that is a brilliant idea, might try doing the same when I'm brushing my teeth, if I can!

Oh, forgot to say thanks for the links in the last thread, Sally! Had a look through Greg's cookbook and it all looks fab, but it's all a bit fancy for me at the moment as I'm on an extreme budget Confused Have bookmarked though Smile

Hi, I've been doing WW for a year and a half and had lost 33lbs then I got a bit complacent and plateaued. My dad died in November and between that and Christmas I've put on 8.5 lbs. I currently weigh 12 stone 1.5 and want to reach my goal of 9.5 stone this year.

I've ordered some new DVDs to get me kick started on working out brought the WW pedometer and am back in the zone.

Thanks to a reccomendation on here I made cauliflower rice last night which was great. I had it with the tomato curry recipe from Nigella kitchen and it cost me the grand total of 2pp for my dinner and it was delicious and filling.

Marking my place as started doing WW again last week and have now lost 3lbs.

In the past I've lost following F&H so might do that again.

BlackandGold I'm following the F&H for the first time. Hoping it works for me. Smile

Metro I was always told to use up all your weeklies as you feel like you're denying yourself.

Well I've planned my weekly menu and just been shopping and bought lots of chicken and stuff. I feel quite motivated so fingers crossed it stays that way!

I'm going to try using my weeklies to start with, on top of my massive BFing allowance. No great rush so I'll experiment and see what works for me.

I'm saying a tentative hello because I find it hard to stick on long running threads but I'm really going to try to stay on this one with like minded souls!

I did WW years ago and got from 14 st 4 to 11st 8. I crept back up to about 13st 2 and last year signed up again for WW online. I got to about 12 stone and then I abandoned the whole thing after my mum died in October. Lots of comfort eating and drinking and Christmas and now I'm dreading weighing in! I usually exercise a lot too but not recently... I will be weighing in on Tuesday. DH is joining me.

I have found it tough before because the top end of my healthy BMI is 11st 1 and I haven't ever been that weight as an adult. I am well proportioned and don't look too bad, although maybe I'm kidding myself! anyway my initial aim is 12 stone and I'll take it from there. I'm staying off the booze for a couple of weeks to help me get started. I also really need to get out for a run! DH bought me NEW trainers for Christmas and they're still in the box. Blush

I need to buy new trainers as mine look pitiful! I am planning to try and walk every day. I walked slowly (had small child with me) yesterday and earned 5 activity points. Just as well as I'm running out of weeklies! Blush

When I did it the last time, you had a milk allowance IIRC. Do you now have to point every time you have a cup of tea?

Hello everyone! I lost 3.5 stone on WW last year after having DS and got to 9st 5. I then lost motivation as I looked ok and everyone was telling me I shouldn't lose any more, but I'm 5ft 2 and would like to get to 9st.

I maintained well, but then got pregnant in September. Unfortunately I had a m/c at 12 weeks at the beginning of December, and I now have an extra stone of weight (pg gain plus comfort sadness eating) with nothing to show for it :(

I've been back on WW for 3 weeks now and had a starting weight of 10st 10. I weighed in today and am now 10st 4. I need to be at least 9st 7 by march (beginning of wedding season!) which I know is achievable.

Good luck everyone, I love WW!

Tilly, in the latest magazine they have daily menus that have 300ml of skimmed milk as an allowance Smile

Report
AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/01/2013 20:10

You'd still have to count the milk in your daily points allowance - it isn't 'free'. A pint of semi-skimmed (568ml) is 7pp and a pint of skimmed milk is 5pp.

If you're on Filling and Healthy, skimmed milk is OK to have in unlimited quantities (until you're full).

PsuedoBadger sorry to hear about your m/c. Looks like you're back on track weight-wise now. Well done Smile

Ah, from the magazine it gives the impression that its just your allowance for the day. Oops, sorry Tilly!

I thought when you joined you could tick to say if you are expecting or breast feeding - not that I ever paid attention to that being as I was never expecting or bf. lol.
Thanks for the congratulations. I'm not sure on due date as I'm not actually sure when I fell...... Complicated. Potentially 10 weeks. Possibly 6.
I will continue to eat in moderation and attempt to resist the biscuit tin.

sally how did you loose weight? Because you felt sick?

I doubt v much I will be so fortunate.

Good luck girls x x x

im pretty sure you cant do ww while pregnant (congrats btw), they give you a daily/weekly allowance so you can lose weight. pregnant women should not be aiming for weightloss

Rosy, I had twins the first time and I put on six pounds. I never suffered with morning sickness, I just think that my body just used up the calories! I thought it was a fluke but the next two pregnancies I was lighter by nearly two stone than I had been at the start of the pregnancies. What nobody told me is that I would be so knackered post birth that I'd eat rubbish and grab biscuits between feeds! No wonder that I would put it all back on within six months. Grin

Okay, so have had another successful day trying to track everything and steering clear from the treat cupboard and the wine rack. Decided to give my knees a rest from JM Ripped in 30 today and dragged myself out for a 3 mile run followed by some yoga this evening. The run was slow and painful but at least I got some activity points to blow on a kit kat!

I am off work tomorrow as DD does not start back to school until Tuesday so we are planning a fun "Girls Day". This is when I feel WW is the right approach for me. I want to take DD out for lunch and she likes pizza, so after some research I am going to opt for Pizza Express and am planning my next few days points so I can have a nice lunch out and not feel guilty and hopefully stay on track to lose a few pounds.

Report
SallyBear · 06/01/2013 22:18

Pizza express is an excellent choice.
