New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

I weighed today, lost another lb, I suspect mainly out of my nose! My wii fit age was 7 years below my real age, despite my feeling rough as hell, which can't be bad though!
I'm off to school, it's a choice between sitting in school for 10 minutes or sitting in the house with DS practising his drums upstairs. I know which I'd preferGrin.

Well done cookieowner and IMST. Keep up the good work.

I've been run off my feet so snacking opportunities have been low. :)

I've finished the Olympic table tennis cake for ds2. Pic on my profile for anyone interested.

I've made a mouse costume for dd. Now I just need to finish her toga. Hmm

Why do these things always come at once? At least I don't have anymore cakes to make until my niece in January. She wants a Les Misarables cake. Confused

A little better, mostly due to not doing much today.
I had a lovely hot bath, which really helped too and about to have a beer too
Back to the usual tomorrow slacking in the cafe all morning hard at workGrin.

Hair that cake is fabulous Grin

IMST re: your greek mythology reading - I think that alot of the well thought of educational books that intelligent people unlike myself type books are just a load of naughty folks doing cheeky things - think Canterbury Tales and Shakesphere as well as your greek stories Wink (not sure how that would go down with all the children though - I'm imagining a situ like Phoebe from friends where she sings songs about inappropriate things to children!!)

cookie well done - that's great

Well, I'm off to sainsburys today on my way to take DD to her toddler gym class (yes, she has the gym too, only obv nothing like the actual gym we do!) in the hopes of finding a couple of tops and dresses that fit me so I don't look like too much of a state - I look awful in what I'm wearing today - honestly, if I was one of the other mothers at DDs class who all look so polished and perfect I'd think I had been dragged through a clothes bin blindfolded and picked out anything in any size of any mismatching colour to wear - I'm almost too embarrassed to go, just have to hope I can find a nice cardi in sainsburys to buy to cover everything over. Tis very hard going clothes shopping with a toddler though so I'm not sure how fruitful the trip will be, may have to take chocolate to get me through without going insane keep DD occupied.

Thanks you lot.

I hope that your shopping went well reastie. You definitely sound like you need new clothes.

Took ds2 out for lunch today to TGI Friday's. There is absolutely nothing that is reasonable calorie wise on there menu. Even the salads have a ridiculous amount of calories. I had a chicken blt and left most of the ciabatta it was on and the chips.

At least I'm full enough to not want dinner. Blush

Morning everyone!
Hair, well done for making the right choices.
I'm doing well, although annoyingly not losing weight. When I logged my planned meals for yesterday they came to exactly 500 so I took that as a sign to do another 500 day.
I have sat down and planned all meals for next week (assuming of course i remember to take them with me this time!) and am determined to stick to it. Weekends are my downfall - we're going for a meal out tomorrow for SIL's birthday so I'm going to try to be careful, and then have planned Sunday dinner to be low cal for me anyway :)

I'm also making an effort to avoid the supermarket where I can, so kids and I are off to butcher's and greengrocer on Saturday morning, and hopefully that will just need a top up from local co-op.

Also, has anyone else started having those warburton's thins for sandwiches. They're lovely, but I can't always get hold of them/forget to buy them. Our local co-op also sells a small warburton's wholemeal, and its slices are about 58 cals each, so a sandwich made with 2 of those is similar to a thin.

Phew, sorry for the rant. I am really desperate to keep this up. I want to be 10s something (probably 13 :o) by the end of this month.

I think I have updated the spreadsheet so that it always picks the most recently entered weight...I think :) Not sure whether it saved. I also updated my weight - only lost 4lb in total since last time I recorded a weight which was aaaages ago.

It is up to date (for me anyway) but it shows % remaining of SW, not % lost (unless I've lost 81% of my SW which is unlikelyGrin)

Yes I noticed that,, but wasn't sure which it was meant to show. Did it used to show percentage of starting weight lost?

Report
InMySpareTime · 09/11/2012 09:19

Yes, and that's what the column label says.

Thank youSmile it's good to know what a loser I amGrin. Being a shortarse not very tall, my weight loss looks better as a percentage! Can't believe I'm in third place though, I still feel like I haven't changed very much, surely someone will notice my weight loss was too easy and throw me all the weight backBlush.
I hope that means keeping the weight off won't be too hard.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 09/11/2012 09:39

Sounds like you've lost it gradually if you still feel like the old you, so hopefully means it should stay off

It's on average 2lb a week, not even slowing down yet, less at TOTM, more between times, but a surprisingly straight line overall. I'm near my target, but I'll keep it up and see where I end up naturally.
My sister (similar height and build) said she was advised by a dietician that at her height 1200 is sufficient to maintain weight, but much less than that it's hard to get sufficient nutrients. I've been eating about 1200 gross, doing about 500 exercise a day, easy with a 30 minute round trip school run morning and afternoon.

Hi all, popped into monsoon on the way home from work today and bought this . Will have to try it on at home to check if I'll keep it though. I tried it on and thought 'wow, I actually have a figure'! (allbeit not a fab one yet). I think I forgot how big the clothes I wear to work are for me! It is a little tight though and is a tighter design than I usually choose, so I'll have to see what DH thinks (although he's pretty rubbish at these things). I'm hoping it'll give me a bit of motivation with my iron diet though as yesterday and the day before was rubbish - ate well over 2000 kcals Blush Sad - a nice new but slightly tight dress to get me motivated to lose a few more pounds to make it fit better.

Anyone got any nice week end plans?
