New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Thanks hair! Today has mostly involved eating smarties... Not smart! Will hit the gym tonight like a Friday night saddo cos DH is working!

Hip hip hooray for a size 12! I also got my first size 12 today (a wee fleece for the gym!) from marks and spencer!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 02/11/2012 17:21

Yay to size 12! IME matalan does not come up big

TheOneWithTheHair · 02/11/2012 17:25

Thank you. I'm quietly thrilled. I needed a boost.

Mmmm smarties. Although in my head it's easier to resist because I've had a small victory. I think it's down to you lot giving me a boost when I needed it at the beginning of last week. :)

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 02/11/2012 17:40

In a couple of months you'll be telling us about your size 10 top - keep that thought in mind.
I bought my first ever item of clothing from Matalan a month or so ago. It was a s16. At the time I was a s16 in most things with the odd 14, so definitely seemed 'right' to me.

TheOneWithTheHair · 02/11/2012 17:42

I love you Stealth! you're so good for my ego. Grin

reastie · 02/11/2012 18:24

Sleepy look at you schmoozing with the celebs Wink Envy

Yeah to the size 12's. Have to agree with stealth too - the only matalan purchase I've made was 2 pairs of jeans last year and both came up big on me compared to other shops.

Weighed myself this morning and fingers crossed maintained this week. I'll be happy to keep that up whilst on this iron rich diet tbh. Had vegetables and rice with lots of watercress for lunch today and pea and asparagus soup for tea today I won't mention all the snacking though . Pleased with myself as sold 3 of my now too big boden tops today - that's £25 in the kitty for more christmas pressies Grin

TheOneWithTheHair · 02/11/2012 18:33

Well done reastie. It must be a good feeling to know you don't have to go backwards. You've done really well as it can't be easy.

InMySpareTime · 02/11/2012 23:40

I bought some jeans in Gap today, they were a 32 short. What's that in sizes?
Kind of hoping it's a 12, it's probably a 14.
Anyway, I have jeans that stay up without a belt, so I'm happyGrin I never thought I'd start wearing Gap in my thirties!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 03/11/2012 07:33

Well done IMST :o

Can I ahve a please
as of this morning (sneaky weigh in) I have officially lost 5 stone since I started :o

InMySpareTime · 03/11/2012 07:41

Hooray for Stealth GrinGrinGrin
Well done, that's more than my 11yo DS weighs!

reastie · 03/11/2012 07:53

that;s excellent news - well done you. Think about how many bags of flour or packs of butter 5 stone is and how heavy it is - it's heaps!!

IMST I think 32 is teeny for jeans - DH has some 32 waist jeans and, assuming mens comes up the same as womens (I assume 32 means 32 across the board) they are very slim, I'm thinking definitely not a 14, it's smaller than that Grin

InMySpareTime · 03/11/2012 08:04

Although even in my teeny jeans I am still obese! Darn BMI, I'm only 2 away from overweight now though (about 8lb at my height).

reastie · 03/11/2012 09:22

IMST how on earth can a size 12/14 person be obese???!!!!!! Shock

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 03/11/2012 09:49

Thanks :) have had breakfast now so probably back up but that's not the point.
Yes, Shock at 12/14 being obese. Sounds like you're not far off though.

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/11/2012 09:59

Morning everyone.

Well done Stealth that's amazing!! Be very, very proud of yourself.

I've asked IMST about this. She is 5.5" shorter than me and weigh the same more or less. I am classed as overweight and my ideal weight is 9st 6lbs. Her ideal weight is 8st. That's 1.5st for 5.5". That's more than I thought it would be. Height plays a big part. Plus she really is tiny!! Grin

BonkeyMollocks · 03/11/2012 10:05

Yay Stealth thats fab !

IMST 32 is a 14 (used to be a topshop worker) - however i always thought Gap came up small?? My dh is a bloody 28!!! Amount of shite he eats he should ve 50 Hmm I bet you look fab in your new jeans! :)

I've hit the 11s !! Mostly thanks to d&v but i still got there. Yesterday i started rating again and while i expect to put a bit back on im so far still in the 11 club!! I gave my.mojo back! Grin

BonkeyMollocks · 03/11/2012 10:06

Bloody typo heaven! Blush

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 03/11/2012 10:19

Thanks hair and bonkey. Bonkey yay to 11s and well done on getting back in control

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/11/2012 10:20

Bonkey yay for 11s and for getting your mojo back. Grin

KatoPotato · 03/11/2012 11:15

What an all round good vibe for everyone!! Stealth, five stone is phenomenal! Everyone else you are all pure inspiration!

I need my behind booting! I'm really in a fug over my gain and loss with no proper loss! I've slowed right down and I'm scared of Xmas malaise. I had coco p

KatoPotato · 03/11/2012 11:16

Pops for breakfast FFS!

Argh!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 03/11/2012 12:33

Get with it Kato. You don't need me to tell you what you need to do. You've already shown that when you do it it works. You're worried about Christmas - by then you could be a stone lighter.

TheOneWithTheHair · 03/11/2012 12:45

I would love to be a stone lighter at Christmas.

Get with it Kato. Don't waste the effort you've already put in. If you eat a munchy box I'll come up there and wag my finger in your face with my other hand on my hip!! Grin

InMySpareTime · 03/11/2012 21:45

I'm back homeSmile, walked a really long way today, round the Wetlands Centre, and getting to and from the train. I'm booking a quiet day tomorrow!
I was a bit worried that my legs looked blue when I got in the bath, quite relieved when the blue washed off (it was dye from my new jeansBlush).
Glad to see how well everyone's been doing, even those struggling have come such a long way already. Stay positive, we can reach our goals!

KatoPotato · 03/11/2012 21:46

Thanks guys! Need to wisen up! I declared I'd be happy at 11st for Halloween and here I am!

No Munchy boxes I swear!!
