New thread for those of us who need a little kick every now and again. Remind me of your reasons for doing this again? I need to be a healthy weight for possibly the first time in my adult life.
We all have blips. Days, sometimes even weeks off. And the scales stay the same or even go up. But long term, you should be losing weight and learning new habits to maintain. Think of it like house prices - they fluctuate and go down as well as up (apparently they do go up!). But over a long period of time you're unlikely to regret buying a house.
welcome yoghurt :) you'll find all the support and virtual kicks up the bum you need here.

Yes stealth it's a good question. I've been veggie since I was 9 Shock originally for 'moral' reasons although as the years have gone by I haven't eaten it for so long the thought and smell of it is very unappealing to me to eat. I did a few years ago try to eat meat again as I was put on an even more restrictive diet with no dairy on top of all the other things I can't eat (which I shouldn't have been on...but that's another story) and it was making me really ill so I tried eating meat but I just physically couldn't swallow it. It's probably mostly a mental thing but I just couldn't do it.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 31/10/2012 08:18

Right, so probably not a good idea as it would probably make you ill. I'm very similar - vegi since I was 8 for moral reasons but as I've got older I've started to think I probably could eat meat again. And I do eat haribo etc, so moral argument no longer applies. TBH it just isn't something I eat now, and it's interesting to think if I did it may make me unwell.
Hope you get your anaemia sorted. I'm definitely going to try that salad!

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 31/10/2012 08:44

It's my birthday today. I was hoping to be 11s6 so I could say exactly 5st off since I started. But im 11s7. Still not too bad. Desperately want to be under 11 by end of November, thats feasible.

InMySpareTime · 31/10/2012 08:50

Happy birthday polar bear , Halloween birthday! You could say you lost "about 5 stone", 1lb is only a whisker away!

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 31/10/2012 09:51

thanks. not sure tbh. I've been fat for so long I have no idea what my normal is. I think I'd like to get to under ten and a half and then see how I feel.
Very impressed with the shred dedication, I've not done it in months :(

MummifiedBonkeyMollocks · 31/10/2012 11:47

Thanks TheOne Grin

I'm plodding along, doing ok. Still don't feel 100% but hopefully the wieght thats gone will stay gone!

Stealth 5st is AMAZING!

eighty 6am?!?

MilkshakeMaker · 01/11/2012 11:32

Argh I've got the ex mother in law coming to see ds this afternoon, she's lovely but I hate her coming as I feel she's judging every little thing, I'm so nervous I'm eating everything in sight so it's not going to be a good day....
I'm thinking of taking the afternoon off tomo and having a ds free bike ride for a few hours to make up for it... Weather depending ..

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 01/11/2012 11:35

That sounds like a good plan. Why do you think she's judging you though?
I have found another benefit to losing weight this morning, I now fit comfortably into Dhs clothes. Couldbt find any jeans this morning so I'm wearing his :o
Yesterday went to pot :( really going to make today and tomorrow better. Day off Saturday then straight back to it.

InMySpareTime · 01/11/2012 12:22

I'm visiting my parents' this week, lots of eating out, trying to get as much walking in as possible, taking stairs instead of lifts etc.
I doubt I'll lose this week, but I've had a good run since July, I reckon I'm due a blip!

reastie · 01/11/2012 13:06

Milkshake good luck with exMIL I thought one MIL was enough Wink

IMST have a good time with your parents and hope they don't force you to too many rich restaurants!

Stealth Grin to you fitting in your DHs jeans (and Envy - can't imagine ever fitting in my DHs - he's a 30 - 32 waist and they look so small compared to mine!)

Have been iron rich food-ing today - fortified bf cereal, some seeds, dates and nuts for snack and for lunch I had some rice, watercress, an egg and some dried apricots; all of course washed down with orange juice Grin . Not the lowest in fat/calories but hopefully healthy enough for a maintain . Truly hoping this starts helping soon as am feeling ropey tired all the time.

reastie · 01/11/2012 13:09

Oh, and in other news having been locked in the house all morning (long story - broken door lock meaning I can't leave the house as if I do it'll be left unlocked and can't get it fixed until FIL does it at week end) so DD has been 'helping' (I use the phrase lightly there as she is rather a hindrance) me do the Christmas wrapping - maybe 1/3 of the way though already Grin [smug]

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 01/11/2012 13:23

Sounds like the cals you've eaten have been made up of very healthy food though.

And Envy at your wrapping - though I hope you are now free to go :o

MilkshakeMaker · 01/11/2012 14:05

I know tell me about it reastie, I've got exmil on Xmas eve, Xmas at dp's parents then boxing day at my parents, next year I'm going away! Ha ha.

sleepychunky · 01/11/2012 21:33

Hi everyone, I am sorry I haven't posted for so long. I've had a massively busy week or so and as well as being ill (picked up cold from DS2 and my nose is all sore from blowing) I've also had a big night out on Tuesday with work - I am head of fundraising for a charity and we have a big do every year hosted by Gok (one of our ambassadors) so I was drinking champagne and rubbing shoulders with celebs! I haven't put on any weight though in the last week as I have been good the rest of the time.
I'm at exactly 2 stone loss and I would love another half a stone before Christmas so now that big do is out of the way I don't have anything else going on so can really focus.
Haven't had time to read all the thread since I last posted but I did just check in on the Google spreadsheet and people are doing so well!

sleepychunky · 01/11/2012 21:41

ps. any Gok or Strictly fans take a look at my profile pics!

TheOneWithTheHair · 02/11/2012 08:47

Envy of you meeting Strictly dancers sleepy. Are they all tiny?

I'm having a good week. I'm hoping for another loss on Monday. Fingers crossed. :)

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 02/11/2012 09:06

Morning everyone
Still sticking with it here
Sleepy - :o at you drinking champagne and rubbing shoulders with the stars!

KatoPotato · 02/11/2012 09:45

Friday weigh in... Lost the pound I put on last week... Scales refusing to show 10st!!!

sleepychunky · 02/11/2012 12:21

Actually Ola wasn't as tiny as I thought she'd be. Flavia though was absolutely minute!

TheOneWithTheHair · 02/11/2012 16:19

That's cool sleepy!

Keep it up Stealth.

Well done Kato. You will get to 10st. You've done so well. If you don't believe me have a look on the spreadsheet and be proud!

I have finally had a mini-milestone. I have a family christening on Sunday and I have nothing suitable so I popped in to Matalan and saw a lovely burgundy wool dress. I grabbed a 14 and it was big even with leggings and a short sleeve vest underneath so I tried the 12 and it fits beautifully! I know Matalan probably come up big but I am very chuffed. Grin
