OP posts:
lilibet · 06/04/2006 19:49

anyone any brilliant ideas about what bread I can have with my pasta?

In fact, what bread are you eating? St Rosemary says low GI bread under 90 cals a slice, I searched in Tesco and couldn't find one so at the moment I'm sticking with my usual 120 a slice.

alicemama · 06/04/2006 20:43

I like to have a pitta bread instead of bread now...rub a bit of garlic on it before you toast it and hey presto.....garlic pitta goes great with pasta!

dinny · 06/04/2006 20:45

How much can you drink on RC then?

KBear · 06/04/2006 22:05

lilibet - ASDA Extra Special Multigrain is 90 cals per slice and is the best one I've tried (and I'm a white bread girl!).

dinny - a glass of wine per night I think.

OP posts:
lilibet · 07/04/2006 09:12

Dinny - I like a woman with priorities

You have 700 cals a week for alcohol and 700 cals a week for treats

Alcohol is a treat for me! Grin

lilibet · 07/04/2006 09:14

And thank you for the bread ideas Smile

I shall try them and report back

Good Luck for the weekend everybody!!

I'm drinking tonight YayHay!!!!!!! Grin Grin

dinny · 07/04/2006 19:56

how much is 1400 cals in terms of vino, Lilibet? Grin

KBear · 08/04/2006 21:38

Holy crapola - I've been BAAAAAD. DH's birthday today and we went for a pub lunch with some friends. I had a ploughmans with pate which was delish and not huge and the least fat-filled dish on the menu. Didn't drink wine cos I was driving.

Got back and made DH a chocolate birthday cake filled with fresh cream with melted choc on top - and I didn't lick the mixers or the bowl!!! I only had a slither of cake compared to their huge portions but I'm already thinking "wish I hadn't". Feel like I've blown it. Now I've tasted choc I want more, more I say, MORRRRRRRE.

Am going to swim very fast tomorrow to work it off!

Bugger.

How's everyone else doing?

OP posts:
gingernutlover · 08/04/2006 22:00

yesterday ate half bar of choc and dh bought home cod and chips - no didn't take off batter, ate the lot, having a very bad day, week, year, whatever....

today finished off the choc but made healthy meals and have resisted the urge to eat biscuits this evening so hoefully there is some hope for me, guess I will just be pushing that buggy a lot this week.

weird though I hadn't wanted anything bad all this time then as soon as I had a little bit of choc (mainly because feeling so crap) I just wanted more and more and more.

I have had a good weekend [saintly emoticon], stuck to the plan, got lots of walking done but am not at all confident that I will have lost on Thursday as my clothes are no looser at all.

I am building 'days off' into my plan, I had one on the 1st April, my next one is Easter Sunday and then it's a couple of weeks off my birthday

43 Sad

I think that the odd day off does you no harm at all but it's when they become a bit too frequent that your problems start. I'm working on about one a fortnight

I got the results of my cholestrol test this mroning and it's 6, which is a bit high. Told the nurse that I have just started this plan and she says that it should do the trick in reducing it. I have to go back in 6 months.

KBear · 10/04/2006 20:42

woo hoo - I've lost 1.5 lb this week (and I thought I'd done badly - see my post on Saturday!!!) making my total lost to half a stone. I'm sooo pleased!

Good luck for this week everyone.

Re-motivated Kbear!

OP posts:
lilibet · 11/04/2006 09:01

Congratulations!!

I'm off work today and so the temptations are stronger to nibble and I won't get as much exercise as it's peeing down here Sad

May keep popping back on here when I'm tempted Grin

Good luck for tonight Gnl!

gingernutlover · 11/04/2006 09:50

thanks lilibet - my scales say I have stayed the same which would be a relief after all the choc.

fab weight loss kbear well done

lilibet · 11/04/2006 10:48

my home scales have broken which according to the woman at class is a good thing

not so sure myself

KBear · 11/04/2006 14:11

Good luck tonight GNL - let us know how you get on.

Just taken my measurements for the week - have lost nearly 9 inches all over since starting this four weeks ago - including 4.5 inches off my waist.

This is of course a blatant BOAST but also might keep us all motivated. I think taking your measurements keeps you sane when your weight loss stalls. If you lose an inch off your waist even though you only lose half a pound (me last week!) you keep going...

OP posts:
lilibet · 11/04/2006 14:22

But it's the horror of seenign the measurements kbear Shock

I'm starving Sad
Just had dinner and still hungry, the boys have had toasted hot cross buns which smell sooooooooooooo good

I want food!!

KBear · 11/04/2006 17:44

What did you have for dinner?

OP posts:
lilibet · 11/04/2006 21:45

A multi grain roll filled with low fat soft cheese, cooked peppers and lettuce.

I did have a very bad tea moment Shock I got in at 5.10 and had to leave to take ds1 to football at 5.30, didn't have time to get anything proper so I grabbed a slice of his pizza Sad Sad

And it was really really good Grin Grin Grin

Come on gnl, tell us how you went on?

lilibet · 12/04/2006 09:24

Good Morning ladies!

Tomorrow night I am going to have a problem. I'm going to a bring and share at my church. Everyone brings along one dish and then we all have a buffet style meal. I know the usual advice on buffets, eat lots of lean meat and salad, but if you don't eat meat you're a bit stuck!

I know from past experience that for me to eat there will be cheese and biscuits, quiche, cheese sandwiches, pizza, crisps and nuts and what ever I decide to take which I think is going to be a rice salad. So I have three options

  1. Pretend I have a dodgy stomach and eat nothing
  2. Eat everything and blow the diet
  3. Eat a plateful of rice salad

Apart from dh and a close friend or two I hate telling people that I am on a diet

gingernutlover · 12/04/2006 09:55

it was raining and I chickened out of it. But I will go next week I promise Blush

lilibet · 12/04/2006 10:09

never mind Smile, lots of time to burn off the Easter eggs!

I am also very bloated at the moment cos I'm due on, I have very fat fingers and feel like a pudding

Not looking forward to tonight

KBear · 12/04/2006 10:12

GNL - I am disappointed in you. We had high hopes for you this week! Grin

Lilibet - have what everyone else is having but have a lot less! Make up for it the next day by being extra sensible.

Agree - hate mentioning that I don't eat certain stuff. People always buy cakes at work and when I say I don't want one cos I'm trying to lose a few pounds they push and push, "one won't hurt" etc.

OP posts:
lilibet · 12/04/2006 10:21

I don't like admitting that I am bothered about my weight, which I am - very!

I work with someone who is about 5'6" and a size 12 and she goes on and on about her weight and if she says once "I'm trying to be good today" she says it a thousand times. I sit there listening to her and could quite happily slap her

Sorry - bloated and bad tempered - what on earch can it be?? [grin[

gingernutlover · 12/04/2006 10:22

i know what you mean, i'd rather people just noticed I had lost a bit and not tell them beforehand. I always just tell people I'm not hungry or had a big lunch/late breakfast if they offer me things I shouldn't have.

will go next week, promise!

KBear · 12/04/2006 10:27

So, who's doing any exercise this week?

I swam on Sunday and did the class on Monday. Hoping to swim again on Friday and Sunday.

6 weeks until my holiday!
