GNL - THAT is FANTASTIC. I love this plan - I haven't felt hungry yet and the weight is coming off nicely!

Just to boast Wink - today my trousers are hanging off me and my jacket is done up over my boobs where previously it wouldn't.

One Happy Kbear!

You are both doing so well, hope I don't let the side down tonight.

How much do you have to loose Gingernutlover?

a stone and a half before my hols would be wonderful, 2 1/2 in total would be incredible.

We are going to France Kbear, home of gorgeous cheeses and butter and bread Grin

Anyhow my boss just sent someone out for cream cakes and I said no [very proud and halo shining emoticon]

KBear · 30/03/2006 15:50

I will be pacing until you post tonight....!!! Good luck.

OP posts:
gingernutlover · 30/03/2006 16:07

I would like to loses about 4 stone really - seems a hell of a lot but at least I've made a good start

KBear · 30/03/2006 16:42

are you doing any exercise GNL? I find this helps my motivation to keep going. I swim twice a week and walk everywhere when I can. It's hard when you have kids though isn't it, finding the best time to go. I'm not one for training at 8 o'clock at night - I'm shattered by then. Luckily I squeeze in a swim while DS is at pre-school.

OP posts:
gingernutlover · 30/03/2006 20:42

apart from the exercise at class, I try to walk to the shop or toddlers with dd in her buggy and rope dh into a walk round the nearby park at weekends but I don't really have time to do much else. also when I go back to work in sept this will be even harder but am hoping to have lost a bit by then.
so no. not proper exercise but am trying to be more active I guess

gingernutlover · 30/03/2006 20:43

am considering whether I could put dd into creche while I do a swim or class but seems very expensive

KBear · 30/03/2006 20:46

I agree, it is expensive. Have you got anyone you could leave her with for a hour? Or maybe go for an early swim at the weekend when DH is home. On sundays we all go and me and DH take it in turns to swim lengths while the other one watches the kids!

Every little helps though.

3lb Grin

Slimmer of the week Grin Grin

But no class next week Sad

GNL, have you got a pedometer? I find that just wearing one makes me walk more. I walk more when I'm at work tho' as it's 100 steps to get a glass of water and 200 to go to the loo and the more you do of one the more you have to do of the other!

I do find it hard to motivate myself to exercise, I have lots of good intentions but they never come to much. Bought Davina's power of three and did it once Blush but do love the salsa stuff at class and some kind soul has lent me the video so who knows.

KBear · 30/03/2006 21:03

Well done L!!!!!!

OP posts:
gingernutlover · 01/04/2006 11:18

lilibet, no haven't got a pedometer but perhaps will get one. Our leader is away too for next 2 weeks but they have said we can go to another class on a nother day at only £3.50 a class - bargain! must go I think as it's a bit early not too. Not sure I have done so well this week, yesterday we were out all day and I had a hot choc in starbucks, bought by a friend who asked for cream, arghhhhhhhh, my fault for actually eating the cream though, and a biscuit yesterday too Sad

lilibet · 01/04/2006 16:23

What are you both eating? (apart from the hot choc with cream and biscuit - norty gnl Wink)

I always have porridge with water for breakfast, very boring. Have just had two slices of multigrain with 5%mayo and salad but we are out for a meal tonight and the diet is out of the window.

Last nights tea was roasted cougette, aubergine and pepper with a piece of salmon and new potatoes.

Keep going !

KBear · 01/04/2006 17:29

yeah GNL - great diet you're on! Hot choc and cream - you're on punishment.

I have been making:

Porridge for brekkie every day - I love it luckily!

Lovely salads for lunch (thanks to M&S foodstore right outside my office!)

Chicken or prawn stirfrys (with no oil obv)!

Chicken wraps, plenty of salad in and my one concession is proper salad cream - can't stand the light/diet ones - but I don't have much.

Fresh trout with new pots and veg

Salmon steaks

Last night I made tandoori chicken and had it with pittas and salad.

If I make a stew or something I eat half of what I usually eat, same with rice etc, it's a fraction of what I would usually eat. Still haven't been hungry on this diet plan though.

Last night was a tough one for me - friday night is treat night and after work I used to get us fish and chips or we'd just pick, I'd have cheese and biscuits and choc and wine etc. That's why I made the tandoori chicken - for that take away feeling without the F A T!

Weekends are tough when weigh in day is Monday but it does keep you on the straight and narrow!

What are you going to eat at this restaurant tonight then Lil?

OP posts:
lilibet · 02/04/2006 17:52

Oh it was so luverley. It wasn't a restaruant, it was round at my best mates. We had red peppers stuffed with pine nuts and cherry tomatoes, mushroom and goats cheese tart, coffee meringues with a cappuccino sauce topped with maple syrup and pecan nuts and a cheeseboard Blush

Back on the straight and narrow now and my next day off will be Easter Sunday. Still going with the pedometer, so far today 7399 which is pretty good.

I've tried the salsa video and really don't like it, I think part of the problem is that (whispers very quitely) I just don't like Rosemary. Shock I admit that she looks fantastic for her age but I get the feeling that if you met her, this woman would just not be a laugh.

Sorry Rosemary!

KBear · 02/04/2006 19:36

I think Davina might be a laugh - agree Rosemary does come across a bit smug!

Weigh day for me tomorrow. Been swimming today and been sensible with the grub all weekend. Did my belt up a tighter notch today so it's still working. Eight weeks until my holiday and I want to have lost a stone by then.

I am really enjoying the exercise and the healthy food - it's so easy to eat crap and then feel sick after (like fish and chips). I want to be fab and forty (two years off) not flab and forty.

OP posts:
lilibet · 02/04/2006 20:57

I'm also two years off forty!!! Smile

But from the other direction Sad

I tried a shirt on last night that is a little too snug, so that is my first real goal. I want to wear that shirt without being frightened of the buttons popping!
Good Luck for tomorrow night, fingers crossed for you. Report back!!

KBear · 02/04/2006 21:02

I have work clothes that I used to bust out of that do up now! I don't feel like I've lost much this week though, although have stuck to "the plan" like glue - feeling nervous!

OP posts:
KBear · 02/04/2006 21:03

Shit, how can I be two years off forty? Read that back and nearly fainted with shock. I was sure I was 23. DD says "you're only 18 in your head mummy aren't you!". LOL

OP posts:
KBear · 03/04/2006 21:11

I've been to my class tonight and......

don't ask me....

please don't ask me.....

oh go on then ask me....

lost half a sodding pound. Sad

pah. Disappointed but... have lost three inches off my waist and an inch of my bust so something's happening!

OP posts:
lilibet · 03/04/2006 21:31

You have lost 5 1/2 pounds in three weeks and that is excellent!

Go and pick up something that weighs half a pound and imagine something that size and weight on your hips.

And three inches off your waist is fantastic! Grin

You wanted to loose a stone before your hols and now you have 7 weeks to loose 9 1/2 lbs which is easy peasy especially at the rate you have been going.

Don't be despondent - chin up!

lilibet · 03/04/2006 21:32

7 weeks to loose 8 1/2 lbs - maths not my strong point - so that's even better Grin!!

KBear · 03/04/2006 21:36

Thanks lilibet - I can't help feeling a bit fed up but going to shake off that feeling and whizz into this week with renewed energy! The class was great tonight - very fast aerobics and I only nearly fell over twice ha ha!!!

Swimming tomorrow and possibly a run on Wednesday evening if my knees can take it! I am determined still.

How's your week been?

OP posts:
lilibet · 03/04/2006 21:46

A run??, you youngsters have so much energy!! Wink

Been ok, and sticking to it fervently until Easter Sunday, 7296 on the pedometer today, which isn't wonderful but didn't have my lunchtime walk today as I had to take ds1 to the dentist and as the weather isn't brilliant here I'm on the computer with a hot chocolate (options of course!)

Ds1 has a football match tomorrow night tho' and marching up and down the touchline in the mud in my wellies is great for the thighs. Had smoked mackrel, new potatoes mixed with 5% mayo and salad for tea, made a massive bowl of salad thinking it would do for lunch tomorrow but it all got eaten so I should go and make something now rather than leave it till the morning.

I'm fine at work as I have no access to food but at home is a different matter, quite peckish now and I could just eat somehting wonderful and definitley not under 5% fat.

Are you having your 100 cal treat?

KBear · 03/04/2006 21:49

We had the same dinner! I love smoked mackeral!

I have had a glass of wine in the evening but no treat like choc - I can't eat a funsize anything. It's not fun, it's makes you want more. I do have a cup of low fat hot choc if the sweet feeling overwhelms me though.

Oh and don't be impressed by my talk of a run - haven't been yet!!!! Might not make it. I have old lady knees that fail me on a regular basis so might not be a good idea. I'm just soooo determined to lose two pounds for next week to take me under 11 stone.

OP posts:
lilibet · 03/04/2006 21:53

I can't drink Mon - Thurs as I can't have jsut one glass.

that makes me sound sooooo bad Blush

Save all my drinking for weekends, and that first glass of wine on a Friday is just wonderful
