Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

Stealth could you fit in some exercise before the picnic to offset some calories?
Also, try eating slowly so your mum doesn't see an empty plate and refill it (I do this with drinks on a night out to keep a clear head).
It's a great day for a picnic thoughSmile.

StealthPolarBear · 24/07/2012 07:59

Right, shredding done. Kids were screeched at to come and "sit on the sofa, don't move!" half way through as they were fighting :o Then the 3yo joined in with my cool down stretches, very amusing as she still looks like a baby, all flexible and podgy :o

yes, think I will just take one sandwich and try to eat half. Wish I could just pack some ryvita and cucumber tho :(

Morning all! Thanks for the positive reinforcement Odd and Stealth

I really like cucumber on ryvita, and I am not a big fan of cucumber generally. How I eat it is I peel the cucumber, very thinly slice it... wafer slices, then thinly spread lurpak lighter butter on the ryvita and add lots of salt and pepper. Have to have butter with it otherwise it is grim. For some reason, the combo just works for me. :) Radishes are even better. mmmmm.

Had 45 minute walk- about to feed DCs and go out again.

StealthPolarBear · 24/07/2012 08:24

right, I will give that a go, thank you. I need to buy some lighter spread!

Hope you enjoy! LOVE lurpak lighter...... I have to seriously limit myself.... Grin

Just googled munchy box. Made me feel queasy.

A picnic sounds lovely, hope you enjoy it. Hopefully this nice weather lasts too! I am not working today, so am planning for some serious childrens playground time... with any sort of luck I can walk in circles while the DCs play and not look too silly!

OddBoots · 24/07/2012 08:29

I've just been out for a plod around the block and while I did so I watched my shadow and dreamed of being those proportions - so in summary, I need to grow taller, simple.

chipsandmayonnaise · 24/07/2012 09:16
Grin

Reminds me of what my Dfather always says. 'I am not overweight, I am under tall'.

BonkeyMollocks · 24/07/2012 10:00

Dh has just informed me that we are climbing Cley hill this morning , if that doesn't burn some calories I dont know what will Confused !

Ds idea apparently....bloody 4 yos great ideas ! Hmm

Eggrules · 24/07/2012 10:06

ssmile I am going to keep at it. Day 10, shredded 8. Ds will be on Holidays from tomorrow and so he may need to watch/join in.

Need to have a late breakfast and plan my meals.

I have added Lurpak lighter and rivita to my shopping list.

littlemissstan · 24/07/2012 10:19

Another Ryvita fan here - try a thin spread of cream cheese (light Philly or Quark if you are feeling really virtuous) and then a little sprinkle of garlic powder before adding cucumber slices and then pepper on top. Yummy.
DP hauled me out of bed at 6.20am to go to the gym before work - he is under instruction to make me go even if I am a grumpy mare! So 20 mins cross trainer and 20 mins rowing plus weights and sit ups. And I have discovered that the scoop of oats I've been mixing with yogurt for breakfast is only 20g, not 40g as I've been entering in mfp - excellent!
Have brought chicken salad to work for lunch so fingers crossed for a good THT :)

KatoPotato · 24/07/2012 10:27

Morning! Welcome to the new members!

egg Lurpak Lightest is even better and still nice!!

I split a pack of belvita biscuits with DH, still only like 108 cals! - Then went to bed!

This morning I've have a flaxseed and whey protein shake for brekkers, brought more belvita to snack on. Lunch will be another slim a soup and this thought depresses me, but I'm going for a circuit, double Zumba then Abs blast tonight...

Dinner? Might get DH to pick up some pork loin and I'll marinade a grill and have with a rocket and parmesan salad... now that I can look forward to!

Badvoc · 24/07/2012 10:31

Ooh I love lurpack..is the light stuff ok?
I use olive oil as a salad dressing

LollipopViolet · 24/07/2012 11:57

Well, THT is underway!

No food has crossed my lips yet though - which isn't very good. We had leftover lamb from last night so it'll be another lamb dinner later, just need to sort lunch now. We have lots of fruit to snack on.

DDog is at the vets later - my grandparents are taking him. Hoping it's nothing serious (we think he has a cyst but he's had the big C before so I'm quite worried).

InMySpareTime · 24/07/2012 13:08

The nursery DCs have been bringing me down todaySad.
Two separate times this morning the little horrors treasures came up to me and told me I was fat.
After all my hard work, why do I let them get to me?
I'm now sitting in the staff room, looking at the plate of biscuits and cakes on the table, trying to be strong.
That's what I get for resting on my laurels about eating well and losing weight.
How are you all doing this lunchtime?

sleepychunky · 24/07/2012 13:12

Hi everyone! Just having a lunch break so have enjoyed a wholemeal pitta with low fat hummous, raw carrot sticks and an apple. Didn't get time for breakfast before work, what with getting the kids ready for my mum to look after for the day, but thankfully at Victoria station this morning people were handing out free granola bars which were only 96 calories, so that was my breakfast and snack combined.
Question about ab exercises - I have a really bad back and have been seeing various doctors/physios/osteopaths for years. I can't do exercises which involve lying on my back so what can I do to tone my tummy (which is where a lot of the extra fat has dumped itself, and which I guess is going to be very hard to get rid of)?

OddBoots · 24/07/2012 13:13

Are you a nursery nurse inMySpareTime? I am and I know how hard it is at work, I don't know about you place but our kitchen is always full of donated goodies, it takes real will power to resist.

Take no notice of the little darlings, they can pick up on a reaction even if you try to hide it. You're doing a great job, keep going. Will you have a Christmas do you can focus on wearing something lovely for? That's what I have my eye on, getting out of my work clothes and into something stunning.

OddBoots · 24/07/2012 13:18

I don't know if you do much sitting but if you do then maybe getting a pilates ball to sit on would be good for you, it gently strengthens core muscles including the abs. I have mine for watching telly, then I feel like I am not being quite as lazy and my hypermobile ds has one for his computer and it has really helped his posture which I know can be a problem with bad backs.

OddBoots · 24/07/2012 13:19

Sorry, that last message was for sleepychunky.

Badvoc · 24/07/2012 13:22

Oh dear.
Just took my measurements.
:(
My waist is 34'"
Bust is 43
Hips 42
Now I really know I need to do something!!
I would like to be 36/26/36....I was actually less than that once!
When I got married 13 years ago I was 8at 12 oz and my waist was 23 inches!!
(although I lost some in the run up as most brides do...)
Had 2 cups of decaf coffee and an apple and an orange
Egg salad for lunch
4 peppermints
Water
That's it so far
Am worn out after doing all the housework...must be good exercise, right? :)
Going to do my pilates DVD later and have another salad.
I a, truly disgusted I have let myself get to this....:(

InMySpareTime · 24/07/2012 13:22

boots yes, I'm a nursery nurse. There is. So much cake in my job, I'm sure some of them have several birthdays a yearConfused. I have had no snacks at work for a week now, I've been drinking lots of water instead.
They start to leave for school this week, I'm bracing myself for the mass influx of chocolate. At least DH appreciates my generosity with edible gifts.

sleepychunky · 24/07/2012 13:57

Thanks oddboots - I don't have one but I'm not sure I've got space for one either as they take up quite a lot of room, which I don't have. I will see though as I really like them and find them very comfortable for sitting on (although may bring back memories of labour with both DSs as I spent several hours on them each time).
On another note, can anybody recommend a good sports bra for big boobs? I can't find the one I used to have, and it is so ancient anyway and probably the wrong size. I'm a 38/40 DD (at the moment anyway) and really need some support! I did the Davina Power of 3 DVD on Saturday wearing my sturdiest normal bra and it was a nightmare - picture me trying to do star jumps whilst holding my boobs to my chest Blush. Any tips gratefully received!

Badvoc · 24/07/2012 14:30

ooh yes, me too.
I am a 36FF :(

OddBoots · 24/07/2012 14:37

Bahh, you show offs! Grin ~folds arms over rather modest assets~

Badvoc · 24/07/2012 15:13

Do you guys think a 2.5 stone loss is possible between now and xmas?....

Am feeling pretty desperate tbh now.

Just done the pilates dvd and am a bit sore and tired but it was ok.
