Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

Hi all

stealth does L3 refer to the shred? I did level 3 a few weeks ago - phew it was tough! Hope you can still walk.

Well, my legs ache today after the exercise class yesterday and I'm so annoyed with myself as I have eaten too much today already. I'm really feeling the hunger though - maybe it's the heat or thirst from the heat or feeling tired from the heat making me hungry, but feeling down about it. Oh well, hopefully I'll be good the rest of the day and few extra snacks today in the grand scheme of things shouldn't be too bad

StealthPolarBear · 10/08/2012 15:03

yes, and while it was tough it was tough in a good/workout way, whereas I found L2 tough in that I was too uncoordniated to do some of the moves (pendulum lunges). Also, no matter how much I try I cannot get my "double jump rope" to look any different to my "single jump rope" :o

Yes, you are right. One slight day off will have no effect in the grand scheme of things, although the danger is it causes you to lose motivation. Remember why you're doing this! (in fact tell me if you like)

I am doing this stealth to be fitter and healthier and feel happier about myself and to fit in to my pre preg wardrobe once again. Today I have eaten:
A bowl of oat muesli (very very small bowl though)
2 pitta bread and green salad
Quinoa, tofu and vegetable salad (no added fat/oil though)
Dried fruit and nut bar
A few apple rice cakes
5 mini choc rice cakes

It's not all terrible stuff but it's more than I wanted and aimed to eat by this time today Sad . Who was it that mentioned about the hairy bikers' breakfast being 1000 kcals and he thought it was healthy? I think that's my problem in the past - I haven't eaten 'bad' stuff but I've eaten too much or too much of the calorific/fatty foods. bit like today - not bad stuff but just too much Sad

slothprincess · 10/08/2012 17:40

Welcome newbies and welcome back wilbury.

My DH has got a week off now, so I'm really looking forward to spending some time together as a family (I'm on mat leave). sleepy, I'm already thinking about holiday treats! We're planning some nice days out and it's my birthday next week so I'm sure I'll take some flexibility on the good and healthy eating. I just need to make sure I don't get too carried away in the holiday spirit and undo all my good work.

fluffyraggies · 10/08/2012 17:49

Sat down just now to watch a bit of the Olympics - became aware that i kept hearing a motorbike in the distance sort of noise - have just realised it's my tummy! Shock

I'm soooo hungry :( and it's over an hour till dinner.

sigh.

fluffyraggies · 10/08/2012 17:49

Oh and welcome newbies! - sorry - that was very me me me.

StealthPolarBear · 10/08/2012 17:54

fluffy, as someone very wise on this thread said (can't remember who, sorry) see that as a sign that the diet is working. and you'll be nice and hungry when you do eat - exactly as it should be

OP posts:
fluffyraggies · 10/08/2012 17:58

Thank you stealth

MilkshakeMaker · 10/08/2012 18:18

I love a good ol' tummy rumble, don't get them very often as I'm a pig but I like the feeling, and its always at work and although its deafening to me no one else ever hears it!

I've gone and got myself a Pilates dvd again, I keep wussing out of doing the shred and allowing myself the excuse I can't really push myself with the jumping jacks and skipping as I live in a flat and don't want to piss off the people downstairs (they complained last year when I had a stepper and each step thudded although I didn't realise) so Pilates gives me no excuse and will have to do it every evening that dp isn't here.

TheLightPassenger · 10/08/2012 19:05

Hello ladies.

LV - don't be too demoralised by the hormonal fluctuations. Think it would be a great idea to get your updated measurements to spur you on.

Arch and SPB - wow, I am in aware of anyone who regularly shreds, am too much of a wuss

Fluffy - yep, completely normal to start feeling hungry while you get used to eating a better, more regular diet.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 10/08/2012 19:17

Ladies,I think we may need a new thread soon :)

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 10/08/2012 19:34

An hour's walking at 3mph is 273Cals in my MFP, I think it's partly weight based.
DH stopped for a mid afternoon coffee, tried to get me to eat chocolate fudge cake. In an uncharacteristic display of willpower, I stood my ground and had some veg crisps instead. I then looked up the chocolate fudge cake (800Cals) and was glad I had passed on it!

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 10/08/2012 19:38

Well done on the willpower!

800 cals for a chocolate fudge cake?!?!?!? Shock

LollipopViolet · 10/08/2012 19:42

Thanks everyone - had an OK day, 2 little blips, one donut at lunchtime, and a pint later (was bought for me for helping someone out) but I'm under calories and feel a lot better. Went to the gym and was able to do an hour's workout, so that's good :) Having a rest day tomorrow.

Going to wait til nearer the end of the month and then get my measurements checked I think. Although I can tell, some tops are starting to fit better now :)

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 11/08/2012 07:28

Good morning everyone.
I've been a little put off breakfast as I've just seem a mouse in the kitchenShock, well, the hole in the back of the cereal cupboard to reach the stopcock. DH says he'll sort it out when he gets up, but I actually looked in its little eyes, and while I don't want it doing its business all over my kitchen, I don't want to murder it either.
I'm quite proud of the way I stayed calm and didn't shriek. The DCs (in the next room) still don't know about the rodent situation.

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 07:46

Shock IMST
Milkshake, we need a new thread :)
I am having a day off today, and have already started bingeing. Pathetic I know. So I've stopped, am going to have 2 eggs for breakfast and then try not to eat anything else until dinner.

chipsandmayonnaise · 11/08/2012 07:50

Good morning! Welcome newbies! Love the barrel up the hill analogy, and I also do the 'well I have lost this much so I will treat myself with food' trick too.

800 cals for chocolate fudge cake?! Yikes!!!!

Sorry about the mouse Bolt.

Congrats on being L3 in shred Stealth.... I am too scared to give shred a go- it looks seriously hard core!!!!

I am currently very tired of ww pro points counting and failing almost every day so I am taking a break from that this week. I am just 'resting' from it, as I feel very bad about myself when I fail to keep to points and I am tired of that too. So for this week my aim is to make the best possible choices available to me at the time- to massively increase my vegetable intake and to cut my portion sizes by half. I will do nothing else. No counting, no points swapping (I am Queen of the activity/wine points swap!) I will just eat for the best possible nutrients then I will see how I go next week and rethink my strategy then. I just need a little holiday from it all!

Yesterday was a team lunch at work, and everyone else ate burgers and chips and baguettes with mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. I was firm with myself and had half a slice of sweet potato and goats cheese quiche with a green salad. It was delicious! (I easily found a taker of the other half a slice of quiche in the form of a male colleague who runs marathons for fun!).

So that is where I am at today. Hope everyone has a good day... hope it is sunny where you all are!

chipsandmayonnaise · 11/08/2012 07:52

X-post Stealth.

chipsandmayonnaise · 11/08/2012 07:54

Not pathetic at all, Stealth - you STOPPED bingeing. That is really something! I usually cannot stop!

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 08:01

chips that sounds like a really good way to have a break from it without getting to the end of the week realising you've gone down the hill.
Although if you find sticking to MFP hard, is there anything else that would work better for you - SW or WW? but tbh I think if I could cut portion size and stick to it, I'd have half the battle won.
Yes, I stopped bingeing but had a fair binge to begin with. This is a huge part of my problem. One day off and I'm eating chocolate before 7.30am - not normal.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 08:04

And no shred this morning though weirdly I was looking forward to it! I ache all over. If it's a shred ache then good but it seems to be concentrated around my shoulder/neck/throat, and I had a headache yesterday and went to bed about 9. DH had something similar the day before and I think DD had it earlier in the week. So I think it's a bit of a virus. Good news is it seems to just make you tireder than normal for a day or two - DH seems back to normal (well whatever normal is for my permanently ill husband Angry)

OP posts:
chipsandmayonnaise · 11/08/2012 08:08

Oh Stealth hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you might need a day in bed with herbal teas and trashy books!

I had a look at SW yesterday- but I think you can eat unlimited stuff in certain circumstances and that would be too dangerous fr me I think. - preapred to stand corrected by someone who actually knows about it though!

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 08:16

I wish :o
No, as with most illnesses, stuff that DH has to spend the weekend in bed with is just a minor inconvenience for me Hmm :o

Yes agree about SW. There is unlimited pasta on a green day I think. I really don't think they had someone like me in mind when they wrote "unlimited pasta"

OP posts:
MilkshakeMaker · 11/08/2012 08:23

Who wants to do the honour of starting a new thread?! Can't believe its lasted this long

Chips I get what you mean by just wanting a break and to have a meal without doing maths in your head and trying to work out how much exercise you will have to do to compensate for it.

And stealth I have the portion size issue too, I look at dp's plate and my measily little portion and then pile mine up to equal it. And it doesn't matter how slowly I eat I don't feel full up til i've cleared the lot at which point I can barely move for being stuffed. The good news is they say your stomach shrinks after a while so so would your appetite... Or have I just made that up?
