Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

I am so late to this party, but please can I have an invite? It's so the motivation I lack, I know what I should be doing but need someone to give me a proper kick in the bum if I am ever to fit into my bloody wedding dress...
So had a good weekend, Zumba on Saturday and then walked about 7 miles yesterday along the beach. Will go for a jog when I get home too.
And have had oats and yogurt, chicken salad, ryvita with light Philly and fruit today. Lots of water and green tea.
Here's hoping it continues to Tuesday!!

OddBoots · 23/07/2012 15:20

Welcome to noobs, sporadics and regulars alike. :) I love how friendly this group is.

So far today I've had a couple of carrots, a little cheese and two jelly babies. I've done half an hour of calanetics and I feel good for it.

I'm taking my weigh in tomorrow as a baseline for summer hols loss. It will be exactly 6 weeks later I'll see work people so I'm aiming for a noticable difference. Must. Not. Slack.

friendly7 · 23/07/2012 15:35

Fantastic rules, will try my vest, I think I was on this thread but if not, may I join please?

KatoPotato · 23/07/2012 15:46

Hey Chaps... just thinking... should we be accountable and create a shared Google Doc for weigh-ins? or this terrible news?

Also, does anyone know how to create such a thing?

LollipopViolet · 23/07/2012 16:03

Yay, another pound off! I am now... Dun dun dun!

12st 13! Down from 13st4 about 3 weeks ago...

Went to the gym for an hour of cardio. Although I need to get the balance right, doing an hour cardio, means I usually can't do much strength training.

Aaaaand, I did WELL on the eating front. Went to a pub about 2 minutes from me (after the gym...) to get some food. Thought, "I can have a burger, I've earned it."

Ordered said burger, and had one bite, it was gross. The chips were nice (yeah, yeah, I know!) so I just had the bun from the burger, the chips and the coleslaw.

Big improvement for me - I'd have attempted to eat the nasty burger before.

Off to log everything into MFP, including the post-gym meal, and protein bar.

Got a lamb roast tonight, so hopefully I've come in under calories today (1440 is my allowance apparently...)

Edit: Yeeeeah, had 202 calories left even before I logged my exercise. I am good!

OddBoots · 23/07/2012 16:04

friendly7, you were on the first thread, welcome back. :) Vest?

I've not brought myself to put my weight on the thread yet Kato and I don't think I will (it's a scary big number that, at least in my head, is bigger than my body looks). I am happy to share how much I lose (or don't) each week though.

OddBoots · 23/07/2012 16:05

Brilliant going Lollipop, sounds like you have it all under control. :)

LollipopViolet · 23/07/2012 16:11

OddBoots, I think the fact I'd like to look good in my holiday photos this time is helping to motivate me.

Also I've been invited to a wedding just before holiday (friend of my boyfriend's who I've met a few times) so I'd like to not feel like the biggest lady there IYSWIM.

I've also dropped from Tongan to Micronesian on this: Global Fat Scale

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 16:11

Well done Lollipop :)
Hi to newbies.
OddBoots, please do share your losses.
Well I have applied brilliant willpower for about the last hour. Not a morsel has passed my lips. Afternoon naps are lovely :o

Stealth did i pay for the data on what?

I just need to get a new mind set. Im planning my meals for the rest of the week + exercise.

Its weigh-in tomorrow which will go terribly, i can imagine. & my fake tan has gone patchy! Why can't anything go right in my life! Hmm

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 16:39

I meant if we all send you motivation through the internet you may end up paying for it Wink :o
Planning meals for the week sounds really good. I always seem to do well when I do that and stick to it

I'm shattered after a busy day, but MFP says I have burned 300 calories more than I consumed (not counting my 1200 base calories) so far, so I have 1500 calories left today.
Unfortunately I will need them, I'm having dinner at a friends' and it will not be slimmer friendly. Not munchy box level of horror, but lots of food.
What amount of activity counts for 1200 calories anyway? I've been counting as cardiovascular exercise anything that gets my heart rate up (lugging stuff up and down stairs/walking/cycling/dancing), but it doesn't feel like I'm doing much more than usual exercise-wise, I must have been eating a whole load of crap before to get the size I amBlush.

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 17:26

IMST I wish I could have a day of "old" eating recorded on MFP. I bet it would have been 4 or 5000 cals Blush

Ok Grin to 'my fat is weeping' and 'no poo-ey louies'... Actually chuckled out loud!

InMySpareTime · 23/07/2012 17:39

It was hardly ever nice food either, it was usually leftover nursery desserts or biscuits, a couple of sausages left over in a casserole, spam sandwiches (I feel a bit green even typing thatBlush). little pickings here and there, adding up to a load of extra weight.

MilkshakeMaker · 23/07/2012 17:43

It's so easily done though isn't it, I find my portion sizes are so much smaller these days too

OddBoots · 23/07/2012 17:57

It's so easy to pick and when the things you pick at aren't the things you love then you don't feel a sense of 'treat' to make you satisfied.

The number of times I have directed myself to something healthier to avoid chocolate only for it not to hit the spot so I have more and more - if I'd just had a bit of chocolate in the first place I'd have had fewer calories overall.

That's why I'm finding 'good and bad' foods don't work for me.

Creamtea1 · 23/07/2012 18:26

Omg just googled what a munchy box is - am I so wrong and disturbed to think 'that looks nice'!!!!

KatoPotato · 23/07/2012 18:28

They are a thing of wonder! But never again (in this dress size!) it's skinny mash tonight!

dementedma · 23/07/2012 20:07

soup and salad for lunch (without the bread). and chicken with salad for dinner. Trying to reduce carbs but had two slices of bread during the day - one dry, one with jam, as I was hungry. No alcohol. virtuous but boring.
Hope to have another good day tomorrow and maybe feel/see a difference before too long.

BonkeyMollocks · 23/07/2012 20:15

Ok, so I fess up to having a bun with my burger Blush

Had a yoghurt and banana for pud.

Not too bad a day. My best one yet I think. Need to drink more!

Can I ask everyone, do you add fruit and veg into your cals or not count them at all?
I have been adding them in, but I know on WW and SW most fruit and veg has no points. Confused

KateSpade · 23/07/2012 20:21

I am having a scrambled egg for breakfast tomorrow, yes 1! And i may even force myself to eat a banana, eww!

My life is exciting!

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 20:23

Yes I do add them in but don't get obsessed about weighing and measuring - I used to. Tonight I've had Quorn sausages, 3 New pots which I just recorded as 50g and a spoonful ot carrot and broccoli and sweetcorn - I just did best guess for those. Because if im 20g out either way its unlikely to matter but I do need to log everything or its a slippery slope. I do weigh or measure everything other than veg

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 20:36

I am currently drinking wine out of a tommee tippee (no lid) as I allowed myself 100ml and all measuring jugs in dishwasher. I could have poured it into a glass but that would be more washing up :)
