Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

I have finally lost some weight (only half a Kg but my scales don't do more accurate than that, it's either on the line or between them)Smile.
It's a start, still a long way to go though.

MilkshakeMaker · 23/07/2012 06:25

None of that kato its a new day, a new thread and we can do it!

What I can't do, is get up in time to shred, put the dvd on waited the 9 hours before you can actually pick what level you want then saw the time and turned it off again... Great start!

Weighed a few mins ago and 12st exactly so whilst I know I've put on 2lb, it could have been worse so I'm all good...11s club here I come again

Oblomov · 23/07/2012 07:03

Well done on new thread Stealth.

I am beyond upset. Was laughing all night at 'Munchy Box'. And secretly hoping for atleast a tiny bit of weight loss this monring.
This monring, that laughter/happiness has completely disappeared.
Weighed: 10-10-1/4.
I've put on 1/4 of a friggin lb. Are you having a laff?
Every day I have been diabetically low, so been forced to drink lucozade. Can only assume that this is the possible reason.
Because the fact that I haven't eaten my normal copious amounts of chocolate biscuits and numerous packets of crisps, like i would normally do..... plus watching what I was eating , like a hawk, and practially doing a atkins version.....has resulted in .... after 2 weeks of painful 'life-consuming-dieting' ... resulted in ...... 1/4 lb GAIN.
I give up.
Enough of this shit. Seriously, I am truely upset. Sad Sad

Oblomov · 23/07/2012 07:16

You know this KATOwoman, well, its all a facade, right Wink
All through thread 1, she was the epitome of virtuousness, but now........
it's all coming out ......
Munchy Box
Pizza Crunch
.........

te-he-he

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 07:51

Welcome everyone to Motivational Monday
I desperately need it, am quite definitely back up to 12s6
Oblomov, your body is trying to trick you into saying stuff it and feeding it all the things it craves, is it going to win? If you needed those lucozades then you needed them, after all we're mostly doing this for health.
Wolfie that's brilliant! You've done most of the hard work, last little bit, stick with it.
What can I do with a 5yo and 3yo while I shred? I totally agree about all if the beginning stuff - given that its appeal is that its done in 20m they should let you skip through all that! If anyone knows a way please tell me

I don't weigh until tomorrow but I'm checking in with a promise to not eat mindlessly, I hate the concept of good and bad food but I will try to keep myself in balance.

slothprincess · 23/07/2012 09:06

Weigh in from me on this fine and sunny motivational monday. I'm now 11 stone 11 pounds, so a 1 pound loss. I'm happy with that :). Since embarking on this weightloss adventure with you all I've lost 8 1/2 pounds.

The power of MM is strong and I've ACTUALLY DONE THE SHRED!!! My DD is having a nap Stealth, so I'm not sure what you do with your children during the shred. Could they join in or is that a complete nightmare??!

Oblomov, so sorry you're feeling down. That's so disheartening not to have the loss you were expecting when you've worked really hard. Please don't let the number on the scales throw you off track.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/07/2012 09:08

Well I've just weighed in. I lost another 3lbs!!! I'm 11st 8lbs now.

I can't believe I've lost 10lbs since the start of these threads and it's all thanks to you lot so Thanks all round. :)

How's that for motivational Monday? Grin

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 09:21

Well done sloth and hair, you are motivating me!
I am making a sponge cake and have just done a little bit of licking out og the bowl Blush
Won't acually have any cake though, and I estimated 10g of sponge for a little bit of mixture so hpefully it will be OK.

The 5yo joins in :o flaps his arms like a terrified pigeon and then says "I need a little sit down". The 3 year old will get in the way then need a poo no doubt.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/07/2012 09:23

I love hate cooking with kids. Such fun and they're so tidy too. Grin

BonkeyMollocks · 23/07/2012 09:28

I'm here :)

Weighed in. I'm putting it all here so I can not cheat!

12st 7.4lbs

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 09:28

Who said anything about kids :o

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 09:29

Well done Bonkey, everyone is doing so well :o

OP posts:
slothprincess · 23/07/2012 09:32

Stealth I think your 5yo is onto something......I definately needed a little sit down this morning! I probably needed a poo too

KatoPotato · 23/07/2012 10:24

Well done to everyone who has lost, and to the maintainers or gainers, remember today is a new day and we're not losing weight - we're getting rid of it!

Well it's a maintain... but I'm weighing later after... nature! (cheek of me being p'ed off after pringles and munchy boxes!)

Oblomov its the power of this thread that I feel I can be honest after being so virtuous! - I couldn't not share the munchy box with you! (maybe literally would have been better though!)

Gym tonight... cuppasoup lunch (boke) and something involving cauliflower... MM indeed!

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 10:30

just done L2 shred for the first time
my fat is weeping

OP posts:
whyme2 · 23/07/2012 10:31

It is very encouraging to see everyone doing so well.

Myself I have lost only 1lb but I am pretty pleased with myself because I did have a rather indulgent weekend.

Stealth we have a tv/dv combo upstairs which I would 'allow' the dcs to watch while I used the front room in peace. Otherwise they all want to join in and I end up tripping over them or sorting out squabbles for floor space.

KateSpade · 23/07/2012 10:34

Im in a desperate position, ladies! I need motivation & a change of mindset!

Help before I order some alli pills off the Internet! Sad

VivaLeBeaver · 23/07/2012 10:46

I've just been out for a 70 min brisk walk over rough ground. Am having a drink and then deciding whether to go out on the bike for 20-30 mins or do Shred.

KatoPotato · 23/07/2012 10:53

Kate! You can do this, yes it's tricky but you just need to wait until your body decides to behave itself! - it will happen, and you can do it!

Please remember there's no poo-ey Louies allowed in the group! (self inflicted) We can't have you dribbling brown jelly onto our naice carpets!

InMySpareTime · 23/07/2012 12:34

I've had a mad morning at work, lugging stuff up 3 floors for a good half hour this morning (thank you not giant Asda shop), at least a conservative MFP estimate of this morning's exertions comes in at nearly 900 cals so I can enjoy my dinner at a friend's house (lasagne, garlic bread then pudding) without feeling guiltyGrin.
I actually really enjoy exercise, but my job is physically demanding so I get my fix 3 days a week. I am a nursery nurse, in a building with lots of stairs.
I dread to think what size I'd be if I worked at a deskBlush. I'm big enough as it is:
Chest 36"
Waist 34"
Hips 47"Blush
Thigh girth 24" (how is that even possible?)
Weight 86.5kg
Height 153cm 5'0"
I am working on reducing all the numbers except heightGrin.

StealthPolarBear · 23/07/2012 13:43

KateSpade, get motivated! Feel the motivation we're all sending you through the internet (do you pay for data by the MB?). We're all doing really well and if you don't join in you'll be left behind.
I am doing OKish today. Just trying to stop mysefl snacking. Want to be fully back in control of this.

OP posts:
KatoPotato · 23/07/2012 13:45

My Chicken Slim a Soup is the most depressing thing I've ever had for lunch!!!

BonkeyMollocks · 23/07/2012 14:46

Kate You can do this!

Do it for no one but you. Think about getting healthy, fit, and slimmer! You will feel amazing once you see the lb's dropping off!

Please don't go down the pill route. Horrible things with horrendous side effects!

You don't need them, you have us! :)

I have had so far today, a banana, 3 crackerbread with a pitiful amount of cheese. I don't feel hungry, which is starting to make me wonder how much of a pig I have been Blush

Dinner is burgers with no buns (so not a proper burger :( ) and buckets of salad!

Should bring me in under cals for today so room for a fruity treat after dinner :)

UKSky · 23/07/2012 14:59

OK so I did it. Pulled out the scales and dusted them off (as the dust would probably have added a few pounds Smile ).

So my starting point is:

Weight - 15st 9lbs
Height - 6'2"
Chest -43"
Waist - 41" - god my flabby stomach is almost as big as my boobs!
Hips - 45"
Thigh - 25"

This is all a bit of a shock as I have never, in my 45 years, taken any of those measurements, except my bust and I am frankly shocked at these measurements. Didn't realise that I was so big, but have the height which makes it less noticeable I suppose.

I've got an app on my phone that says I should be 13st 1lb.

I'm also starting the couch to 5K today. So if the ground in the New Forest shakes at about 7pm that will be me getting going Smile

The only way from here is down - and a weigh in next Monday.
