Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

Chips. I did Ww at the beginning of the year. I got exactly the same.
I don't know why but MFP seems to be working better for me.
I avoided SW for the fact that there wrest no limits. I need limits to control portion sizes . Good luck I hope it works out !

Milkshake . Technically it doesn't but I swear it feels like it. It really doesn't take long to start noticing. Just listen to your body....when it says stop then stop. Its hard the first few times but you start diibg it without thinking soon enough.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 11/08/2012 08:38

Stealth. Do you plan what you are going to eat ?
Every night I track my good for the next day. I always leave a some cals free for slip ups but meals are sorted.
Its really helped me. If i don't plan then i don't know what to eat which leads to eating the bad stuff.

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 11/08/2012 08:41

Sorry on phone so spliting posts.

We are off out for a picnic today. I have made myself a salad while everyone else has sandwiches.
Hopefully I should be able to stick!

Have good days all.....and STAY MOTIVATED!!!!

MrsPnut · 11/08/2012 09:04

Morning, I overdid it last night on the alcohol.

I shared a jug of Pimms with my mum and OH - except they had a glass each and I drank the rest. I then had most of a bottle of red wine. How I was only 181 calories over is a miracle.

fluffyraggies · 11/08/2012 11:59

Morning girls :) (nearly afternoon)

I made the stupid mistake of doing home bake bread rolls to go with the chicken salad last night. I thought i'd treat myself to one, as they were 178 calories and i thought that was doable. That was bad enough as i'm meant to be avoiding the B word (i'm all or nothing with bread - it is my weakness) but then my DH didn't want his (?!) and it was sat there all hot with butter on it. So i ate that too.

Then he said he was going to have a couple of beers and did i want a JD? I said no. Then had 2 strong ones with cherry coke

God. Just had my SF breakfast shake. Will prob'ly end up having the 2nd at 3 or 4 o'clock later. Then everyone else will be having a pizza. I'm going to have a thin one. And some more JD and cherry coke without doubt.

I feel i'm sailing close to the wind at the mo. Just staying within calories more by luck than judgement.

Love and strength and good vibes to all today - be they on or off the treadmill :)

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 12:02

fluffy, what is wrong with the man? Just reading your description is making me drool

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 12:03

oh and milkshake, sorry, wasnt meaning to be demanding - just didn't want to be presumptuous and start one myself. Though TBH it might motivate me - 150g of chocolate today and counting :(

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 11/08/2012 12:40

Hi all. I have been lurking a bit as I felt a bit low. It's a relief to read such normal people who sometimes stubble a bit. Everyone I know in rl never admits to having a wobble or giving in to temptation.

Stealth I hope you feel better soon.

IMST if it makes you feel better, mice and rats don't like to live in the same space so if you have one you won't have the other. I know which I'd rather deal with!

MrsPnut I had a bottle of wine last night too. It's been a while since I drank so much and I'm suffering for it today! We are going to friends for dinner tonight and it is going to be full of delicious calorie laden food. I think it will be another maintain for me this week.

I seem to have stalled a bit but I will so be back on it when we come back from holiday. I want to be slim for Christmas.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 11/08/2012 13:07

I have cleaned the kitchen extremely thoroughly, and every morsel of food is now in a plastic or metal container. Everything that was in the cupboard has been re-washed. We've had a look under the cupboards, and it appears they are living in the utility room ceiling, getting down the water and gas pipes to behind the base cupboards, and eating the cereal.
Hopefully, repeated thorough cleaning and removing access to food will persuade them to leave.
I have had a good lunch, less baguette, more salad, no sauces or pickles. I'm feeling pretty virtuous, but it remains to be seen whether I'll be hungry before dinner, and I have done no proper exercise today (except cleaning).

MilkshakeMaker · 11/08/2012 13:28

God Stealth you're such a diva ha ha just kidding go for it, you dont need my permission, your speeches are far more motivational anyway!

I fell today too, ds wanted a milkshake then changed his mind so I had it, then I looked and saw almost 400 cals, it washed down the pancakes really well I wasnt going to admit to that bit though

I do have a salad for dinner tonight so I sort of have hopes of being below cals, thats only if i behave all afternoon...

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 14:35

Oh hair :( if you're going to give yourself a break from the diet, give yourself permission to enjoy it, then straight back on it. Need to folllow my own advice!

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 11/08/2012 14:49

I will. Thanks. I swear this will be so much easier once the dcs are back at school. :)

fluffyraggies · 11/08/2012 16:12

Exactly stealth! Wot is wrong with him? Grrrrr. I actually said - while pointing angrily at my mouthful of his hot buttery bloody roll - "this is your fault!" (poor bloke)

Don't fret about the chocolate - enjoy it. own it! Then, when you're done with it, back on the wagon with you! Looking forward to your opener for the new thread :)

theone - welcome back :) Everyone wobbles at some point - if they say they don't they're lying!

Bolt - mice - bless! Blush Like you i'd struggle with the extermination route. Was it a 'house mouse' (like a hamster) or was it a field mouse (bigger, rounded ears and a white tum. More 'sitty uppy') If it was a field mouse they tend to live alone. We had one (the later) a couple of years ago which used to go accross the kitchen from under the dresser to the dry dog food and sit and holding a bit of it like a squirrel. I confess to throwing a little bit of bread for it onceBlush DH started on about getting a mouse trap and it was never seen again. Psychic mouse?

Way off thread, sorry :)

How are all the newbies today?

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 11/08/2012 16:26

I only saw its head, so no idea what kind of mouse. Grey, round ears. I doubt it's the only one, as we have found 3 others drowned in the water butt in the last month or soSad.
I'm starting to get hungry now, will try to hold off until dinner.
DCs are worn out from PGL, both sitting on the sofa watching the pentathlon. DD is sucking her thumb on my lap, which is my excuse for not having done any exercise today (yeah, not even convincing myself).
I need to stop weighing myself every day, the last 3 days I have weighed exactly the same (down to .01 of BMI measurement). I seriously cannot eat less, or squeeze much more exercise in, I need to chill out and wait for my body to realise it can use my fat reserves to make up the cake calories it expects to have.
Oddly, I thought that reducing calories and increasing exercise would make the pounds drop off. They will come off, just not fast enough for an impatient person like me. I suppose it's the hunger talking, I just don't want to be "dieting" for ages without seeing results.

fluffyraggies · 11/08/2012 16:47

bolt i was thinking about this earlier - i wonder if you're increasing muscle mass and it's masking weight loss to an extent?

BonkeyHasGOLDMollocks · 11/08/2012 16:56

Well, the picnic was nice, but a disaster for me food wise, despite going with a prepared salad. Confused

I have had french bread with cheese, sausage rolls, crisps, cake, flapjack and ice cream Blush

I'm not even going to count the cals. I know that the mini sausage rolls I had were 60 each, I had 6 Blush and that the flapjack was 320 Shock . I dare not go further!

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 11/08/2012 16:56

If I'm to get into size 14 trousers, increasing muscle mass won't help, as I have 24" circumference muscly thighs already.
I need to find exercise that tones my arms and tummy without working my legs, and at the same time, encourage my body to burn fat from my legs, hips and tummy but not my boobs [deluded emoticon]

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 11/08/2012 17:19

I love this thread. It's so diverse.

Thanks fluffy.

Bonkey glad you enjoyed the picnic. Put the food thing behind you and carry on.

IMST how about old fashioned sit ups?

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 11/08/2012 19:32

Thanks theone I will try that when nobody's around to mock my feeble attempts , I may also crack out my Pilates DVD and focus on the less "leggy" exercises.
Is there a new thread yet? This one's getting close to capacity.

TheLightPassenger · 11/08/2012 20:21

Hello IOutrun, I agree with pilates or core exercises to reduce midriff/trouser size.

I am maintaining at 1500 cals a day, am struggling to find time and motivation to exercise. I need to get a grip, frankly.

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2012 20:33

New thread starting with my usual witterings

LollipopViolet · 12/08/2012 10:41

Well, operation slim down for holiday is going OK, I think it'll be a maintain again tomorrow, but that pesky pound I got rid of is back this morning!

Hopefully it'll disappear again, so I do maintain.

I had a bit of a bad day yesterday - but medicinal cookies were absolutely necessary! And they were good! At least I've stopped drinking litres of fizzy drinks :)

Flojo1979 · 19/08/2012 21:21
