Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

Goals??
I don't really have them, so i will do a them now.

Short term: To be 11.7 by the time ds starts school. I think that's 4 weeks and 8 lbs. 2 lb a week. Do able??

Long term: To be at goal or darn well close by Christmas . Goal is 9.9. That's just over 2 st in 4 months.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 05/08/2012 09:26

I know, my ds asked for sausage and chips a few months ago. He is a skinny 4 yo with a small appetite. They gave him 3 sausages and a bucketful of chips Hmm

Ever since we just ask for a extra plate and feed him from ours.

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2012 09:52

Yes and then you feel tight! But if they don't do proper children's meals then what do they expect? In fairness he children;s meals this place did were good, it was just the desserts :o

Right - I'll join you on 2 stone by Christmas, assuming I'm 12st now. I'll be thrilled to be 10st by sort of the week before Christmas, and I'll be pleased if I'm around the 10.5st mark.
So two stone in about 19 weeks really. But TBH that's a bit far away for me. SO I'll also say 10st soemthing (even if that's 10st12 by the end of Oct - my birthday). That gives me 12 weeks to lose a stone

and given my last goal was 11st7 by end of August it should be realistic - I think I am not setting consistent goals here :o

Morning all.

Wedding was lovely yesterday, really lovely. Didn't eat that much and drank 3 units all day - however, everything I did eat was unhealthy!! My cake was epic tho I say it myself Wink

Salad and cheese/ham for lunch, roast chicken dinner for tea but easy on the potatoes. Still hoping to be 11st4 on fri when we go away, that's 2lbs still to go.

sassytheFIRST · 05/08/2012 09:54

My goal is under 10 and a half by my birthday in dec. anything less is a bonus!

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 05/08/2012 10:04

19 weeks til Christmas?
Is that all?

If I can be 10.4 by the week before (that's exactly 2 st) then I will be chuffed and it will hopefully stop ne putting on too much over Christmas itself!

LollipopViolet · 05/08/2012 10:26

Well, after what I thought was a terrible day yesterday, apparently a pound has disappeared. Not going to count it officially til tomorrow though. But, still good :) Now, if another would like to follow it so I'm back to 12st 13, I'll be very thankful :)

Not going out today, so a day of very healthy eating ahead - who knows what the weigh in will bring :)

Yes, I REALLY need shower shoes - although til this verruca is gone, I'm not setting foot (shoed or otherwise) in the gym showers.

MilkshakeMaker · 05/08/2012 10:29

I'm copying stealth's goals and bench marks Grin

StealthPolarBear · 05/08/2012 10:30

sassy well done for your restraint at the wedding :)

One more goal - I want one mre week of level 2 shred then on to level 3 a week tomorrow

I want to buy spinning shoes. My feet are wider than normal and on every spin bike, with every pair of trainers I've had, my little toes go numb because they're squished :(

I've seen some for about £20 in sports direct, might indulge. Must also get padded seat cover...

If I could be a dress size smaller by holiday, that'd be fab (I have a month). Also if I could have 2 stone or more off by Christmas I'd be happy.

chipsandmayonnaise · 05/08/2012 11:06

If I could have a stone off by Xmas- and keep that off comfortably i will be happy. My GP says I ought to be under 9 stone (height and build) but I really cannot. I have been 8 stone 4 and that was through starvation. 9 stone 7 would be fantastic.

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 05/08/2012 11:29

I also would like 2 stone off by Christmas. That would be my ideal weight according to MFP and wii. Then it would've a case of maintain, maintain, maintain.

I would love to be able to do this. I do worry about the effect on my boobs though. Hmm

KatoPotato · 05/08/2012 11:45

I'm with the two stone gone crew! As these scales refuse to drop below 12... Bah! I'm staying hopeful. 10 anything by Christmas would be super and a stone by Halloween seems achievable too...

If I lose 2st from here, I'll be down to a BMI of 30, still technically obese, but much better than the 38 I started on.
My ideal weight is 8st, which is unfeasible, I'll be happy to be late 10s or early 11s.
Am I the only person who doesn't gain weight at Christmas? We don't really eat any extra, just a roast chicken dinner (and a kilted sausage).

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 05/08/2012 13:02

Um. Kilted sausage?

Is that pigs in blankets?

HolofernesesHead · 05/08/2012 13:11

I want / need to lose two stone too. Ideally I'd like to lose four by this time next year, which would mean losing two by my wedding anniversary in Feb if I lose at a steady weight.

Lollipop, I'm thinking of trying spinning. Do you enjoy it?

chipsandmayonnaise · 05/08/2012 13:15

oooh... i will jump in if i may! I have just started spinning, and i do really enjoy it.Have been maybe 6 times. The first time I could not stand up at all on the bike. Now I can, and prefer it to sitting [preen]. I like the loud music, and feeling that I have really had a workout. I do not push myself too much yet, as i am very very unfit, but I can go more or less at my own pace with the resistance challenges and it is FUN!!!!!! I would do it 5 days a week if i could, but am doing it only twice a week at present.

I hate zumba though.

HolofernesesHead · 05/08/2012 13:21

Oooh, that sounds great, Chips! I did my first Zumba class last week, which I did enjoy but was slightly weirder out / intimidated by all the really shapely bendy women. With me, it's a case of going to classes that are on at the right time for me. My favourite is aqua aerobics, but the classes are on when I'm working :(

chipsandmayonnaise · 05/08/2012 13:30

I would love to try aqua aerobics. I am also wierded out by the bendy women in zumba- same as when i attempt to do yoga. I just felt quite self conscious, and the teacher did lots of hip swivel movements which hurts my back. (I have disc problems).

I need to do something that gives me a core workout though- people keep congratulating me on being pg again. (I am not). I know pilates is supposed to help.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 05/08/2012 13:53

Kilted sausage is pigs in blankets, but more scottishGrin, also it's full size proper meaty sausage, and streaky bacon

MilkshakeMaker · 05/08/2012 13:57

I did Pilates last year and got on really well with it, I didn't do it for long as I was too lazy but I really felt it working, particularly on my tummy muscles, may even treat myself to a new dvd as mine has gone walkies..

MilkshakeMaker · 05/08/2012 13:58

Stupid question time.. do cherries and grapes go in the fridge or on the side?

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 05/08/2012 14:00

I keep them in the fridge.
