Rules of Motivational Monday:
The weekend is the past. You start from now. If not, you'll end up here in a couple of weeks and a few pounds heavier so do it NOW
MM involves healthy eating and some exercise. Your excuses will not be tolerated here.
MM is when we all get back into control and back into the swing of things.
Welcome all and best of luck. :)

BF - ham and cheese
L - cheese omelett and salad
D - beef burgers and salald

Fruit/nuts to snack.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 09:35

Just a quick check in.

I fell on the scales again this.morning must stop the mid week weigh ins another 2lb gone!!!

12.st 3lbs. Only 4 lbs before I am in the 11s :)

Will catch up properly later but you lot are the only people I can shout about this too.

If I tell dh to often then it means admitting how much I weighed in the first place Blush

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 02/08/2012 10:45

Breakfast: Belvita biscuits
Lunch: more Belvita biscuits
Dinner: sweet chilli chicken kebabs with salad

Not the healthiest but I'm on a big push before my holiday. If I don't snack I should do ok but it's the wine that's a problem at the moment.

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 02/08/2012 10:48

Bonkey that's fab. Well done to you.

To all of you who eat a proper breakfast. How soon after you get up do you eat? I seem to need at least 2 hrs or I feel sick.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 02/08/2012 11:40

theone 30-45 mins after getting up. Usually after a cup bucket of black tea, but before about 7am, as I'm up so early.
I get dizzy if I try to e.g. do the school run without breakfast even if breakfast was sometimes cake
But I'm a morning person, and can't really eat much later in the evening, so it evens out in the end.

chipsandmayonnaise · 02/08/2012 11:50

I cannot eat immediately upon waking either. Usually an hour or so after I get up. But by an hour after waking I have had a walk, a shower, got DCs up and made lunches so then I am usually ready for something to eat.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 02/08/2012 12:49

I didn't have sweet potato wedges for lunch, as the oven shelves were still in the dishwasher. I found a jar of chickpeas, so made homous, chopped spring onion, red pepper and carrot, toasted pitta (from the freezer) and pesto.

chipsandmayonnaise · 02/08/2012 13:01

Mmmm. Sounds vey good indeed!

HolofernesesHead · 02/08/2012 16:27

Hello, can I join your thread? I am size 14 / 16 and am definitely overweight. My weight has crept up over the last three or four years - my dd is 10 and I can remember getting back into my favourite size 12 trousers the day after I gave birth so I can't blame my pgs.

So, I've joined a fab gym with a swimming pool, have spoken to someone about doing a course of one-to-one swimming lessons, and have also started Zumba classes Smile. I also downloaded Myfitnesspal about a month ago but have lapsed completely so want to restart that as it forces me to be aware of what I'm eating. IOutrun, the hummus sounds lovely! Well done Bonkey! Smile HOw often do you normally weigh yourself?

i am defenitely a breakfast person and normally eat within an hour of getting up. My breakfasts are usually really healthy - it's after that that the willpower starts to buckle...

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 02/08/2012 16:35

Of course you can join, looks like you're doing all the right stuff, mostly this thread is a place to support you when you're having a wibble, and make you think a bit before you cave to temptation, because you'll have to tellBlush.
The homous was easy:
Tin of chickpeas, drain, tip into plastic bowl, microwave for ~1min. Drain again.
Add lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper.
Blitz with a blender.
Eat.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 17:12

Welcome Holo :)

I normally weigh myself every mon. I find if I do it any more then I get abit obsessed. I have caved twice mid week so it needs to stop!
Sounds like you are on the right track!

Today has been tough, I'm struggling with ds over the hols. He is driving me nuts :( But, on the plus side, i realised today that i no longer am turning to food to make myself feel better. If i had felt like this a few weeks ago I would hve shoved my head in the cupboard and fridge and not come up for air until I had stuffed myself full.

Todays menu.
B - Coffee (not normally a coffee drinker but today it was needed) and banana.
L - 3 scrambled eggs with 3 slices of ham
D - Meatfree meatballs and a salad.

I'm another who is not keen on breakfast. When I first started a few weeks ago i tried to have something but it does nothing for me at all, plus it makes me hungrier quicker.
I have stopped that now and have found that I seem to do much better on two meals a day with something like a banana first thing, then a early-ish lunch and dinner.

slothprincess · 02/08/2012 17:33

Can someone give me a stern talking to please Sad. My friend visited today bringing her delicious homemade lemon cake. I've already eaten 2 3 slices and fear I may consume the rest of it before the evening is out.

The stupid thing was I went to lots of trouble making a lovely healthy lunch for me and the friend and then I go and spoil it all by not being able to stop with the sweet stuff.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 17:36

sloth

Do you need to keep it? Bin it!

Dont eat anymore!!!

Think of the calories, think of all your hard work. Don't undo it! The only person who will be affected is you!!!

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 17:36

Hows that? Grin

slothprincess · 02/08/2012 17:48

Grin Exactly what I need Bonkey, thank you.
I've just logged it all in MFP and that was pretty scary so hopefully that'll help put me off......

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 02/08/2012 18:20

Hello Holo get stuck in.

Well I think I'll stick to my biscuits for breakfast. I can just about stomach the although I've usually been up about 2hrs before I have them.

I did really well earlier. I went to the shops with ds2 to get some milk and bought him a magnum icecream and didn't have one myself even though they have feasts which are my favourite.

I've just ruined it by eating a mini pork pie though at a whopping 192 cals. BlushShockSad

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 18:24

Can i ask you ladies who measure, how often do you do measurements?

I was thinking every two weeks, or should I be doing it every week at weigh in ?

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 02/08/2012 18:35

I measure whenever I find the tape measure and the DCs aren't around (works out about every few weeks)
theone you're going to have to actually swim at swimming tomorrow to work off that pork pieWink.
Is your DD back soon? She would love a swim.

LollipopViolet · 02/08/2012 19:08

Not a bad day for me today. Did indulge with a donut after lunch (healthy chicken Subway on wheat bread, bottle of water, pack of Sunbites) but am still under on mfp!

Second day without fizzy drinks and I must admit, I feel better, but also more tired. Which is good, means I'll get more sleep instead of being up til 1am some nights!

TheOneWithTheGoldMedals · 02/08/2012 19:10

I'll swim if you watch ds2. He's a hindrance when it comes to proper swimming. Grin

Dd back tonight about 10.30. I can't wait. I've missed her soooooo much.

HolofernesesHead · 02/08/2012 19:46

Thanks for the welcome everyone! :)

Lollipop, what fizzy drinks have you cut out? My DH drinks probably too much coke....sometimes late at night then wants to stay up all night talking!

I've done well today - I've re-bonded with mfp, and joined this thread. I've tried to lose weight over the past few years and have succeeded, but then put it all straight back on again :( I'm sick of this pattern, and it must be so unhealthy. So this time the aim is to lose weight healthily, get fit and stay fit. That's the plan! (determined!)

StealthPolarBear · 02/08/2012 19:52

Hi holo :)
Well I've done well, diet as planned with a bit too much chocolate as snacks. But that was as expected really. Still under on mfp.
