Can I join too? I am currently too scared to weigh myself but will do tomorrow morning.

I was 11st.3 (I am 5ft 8) on my wedding day in 2008 and that's the lightest I have been in years and I felt great - I was an easy size 12 which is what I yearn to be. Anything smaller I think would involve a constant battle with willpower and I'd rather be happy with myself as a 12.

I am currently a generous 16 - always think I am a 14 then realise how very very wrong I am when I come to try on new clothes. In fact I recently tried a size 18 pair of trousers from H&M and they looked vile, so maybe I am deluding myself with the notion of being 16?!

I recently went on hols with a friend who is a perfect size 10 and that was great motivation to cut back as I felt like a hippo when lying next to her on the beach. I was great diet-wise last week Monday-Friday but cocked up at the weekend because of various parties.

Back at it with a vengance this week - fruit salad with natural yog and flaked almonds for breakfast, simple ham salad sandwich for lunch, apple and nectarine for afternoon snack, and salmon salad planned for dinner.

I bought a bike on ebay the other week and will be riding it for 30mins 2-3 times a week once I have fitted a new saddle. Will try to do that tonight instead of watching telly. Exercise has never come naturally to me, so this will be a watershed moment if it comes off.

Looking forward to joining in for some motivation!

I'm quite enjoying the Shred. DH and I are doing it together, which helps. It is really difficult, but just as you feel you can't carry on, it changes to a different exercise. And it's only 20 minutes, so the time goes really quickly! For a few quid, I think it's pretty good - no special equipment needed (I'm using bottles of water in place of handweight).

TwllBach · 25/06/2012 16:56

lisba we sound as though we are the same height and size - I have big tits and big hips as well as being overweight and find that a lot of size 14 dresses fit nicely, although I am basically a big size 16 trouser wise.

lisbapalea · 25/06/2012 17:01

It's arse and thighs for me, rather than big tits, although they aren't as neat as they once were either! My thighs are like something from a scifi film, and not in a Sigourney Weaver way. More like a Jabba the Hutt way.

justwanderingalong · 25/06/2012 17:21

Just checked and play.com have 30 day shred for £4.99 so as soon as bank finally credits my account going to order it.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 17:27

I have ordered the Nadia Sawallah one , for those that have done the shred before , do you think that a not very fit size 16 would be able to do it without either dieing or being put off excercise for life ?

I have managed ok so far with the food thing today , I am going to have my dinner soon rather than waiting for dh to get in and eat together about nine .

This time of day is normally when I eat rubbish so I am hoping to be able to eat at a more reasonable time from now on , dh will just have to eat on his own .

wherearemysocks · 25/06/2012 17:53

So I weighed in this morning (also after a wee of course) at 12st 5.5lbs.

Ideally I would like to be 10st 5lbs, which I think is a maintainable weight for me.

Sounds like we are all off to a good start. I've done 2 school runs of about a mile each way, so about 4 miles walking, and an evil Jillian workout, I did ripped in 30, which is basically just a newer 30 day shred. Though I'm either a lot less fit than I was when shredding before or it is more evil?

We are also about to start a big clear out and a spot of painting before getting new carpets so I reckon thats got to burn a few calories too.

I've been low-carbing too, though I had a protein bar ealier (bounce ball) and when I put it in MFP it actually says it has more carbs than protein. Will have to watch out for those sneaky hidden carbs.

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 18:12

Right. It is not fair work has blocked access to MN. I cant believe theres so many of us, i thought i'd end up using this thread as a diary because no one fancied it!

How is everyone's day going? I've been such a good girl and skipped the usual mocha i have 1st thing at work. I'm braving the shread tonight, does anyone know what sort of calories burned/what to put it down as on mfp?

Whoever it was who said about missing pudding or sweet things i also used to have diet fizzy, It used to be cans of diet cream soda as it was sweet enough to kill the crave..but got so sick of it as turned out i craved A LOT!

I measured the shred a while back with a heart monitor, it was between 180-220 depending on level.

I'm also trying to cut out my daily latte, even a skinny one is 115 calories. Had a macchiato today instead, not quite as enjoyable but I got the caffine hit.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 18:18

I have been persuaded to buy the shred dvd , have you been doing it for long milkshake ?

I am a bit scared .

herecomesthsun · 25/06/2012 18:19

I am 13 stone 12lb and just under 5ft 9. That gives me aBMI of approx 29. I want aBMI under 23. I would need to be under 11 stone. My motivation is to avoid developing diabetes after 2 x pregnancies with gestational diabetes. So, that is 42 lb.

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 18:25

Nope i've had it god knows how long and done it 1(and a half) times! I'm going to do it tonight and see how bad i am after before i decide to use it as normal workout a few times a week or go for it... Have you got it already? shall we die try it together? Although I would have thought it would have been a lot more than that herecomesthesun, slightly disappointing!!

OP posts:
travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 18:27

I have just ordered it so will be a few days , you can be my guinea pig Grin

I have also ordered Nadia whatserfaces dvd too .

I am officially on a mission .

The first part is on youtube apparently so I suppose I could give it a go in the morning ? I refuse to do it in front of my dh and children .

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 18:35

yes i've told dp he's not to come round tonight because i know if i dont start it off today i'll not start it. Now i've got no excuse.... I cant decide if thats a good or bad thing?!

herecomesthsun · 25/06/2012 18:38

What would be more than what, MilkshakeMaker?

buzzgirly · 25/06/2012 18:41

slothprincess I am bfing too, and have been using that as a justification for all the cake, toast junk I've been eating. I had so many grand plans to go out walking everyday with ds, but the weather has been so crap I haven't bothered.

We are moving this week, and I know my willpower will be tested as it will be so much easier to get a takeaway from my beloved Chinese than try to find pots, plates!

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 18:55

Oh crap sorry i wrote your name instead if wherearemysocks, I meant as in I thought the calories from doing the shread dvd was higher than what it is ( probably where i'm ridiculously unfit) sorry for the mix up!

OP posts:
TheOneWithTheHair · 25/06/2012 18:59

buzzgirly good luck with your move. Can you make and freeze a couple of meals so all you need to find is the microwave? It's quicker and cheaper than take away. Although if I was cooking it wouldn't be as tasty!

TheOneWithTheHair · 25/06/2012 19:01

By the way, is it only me that succumbed to half a chocolate biscuit today?

I feel really bad now.

pumpkinsweetie · 25/06/2012 19:05

TheOne, i have done even worse!, an icecream sundae made by dh, didn't have the heart to say no when he suprised me with itBlush, must be good tomorrow

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 19:05

I've just had homemade chicken and veg soup, which was made last week and frozen and just wacked it in the microwave and it was superb! nom nom nom Good Shout TheOneWithTheHair why cant I ever be the one who comes up with good ideas?!

OP posts:
travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 19:06

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2012 19:07

Stupid phone posted too soon . I didn't miss the mash at all ....... Honest

TwllBach · 25/06/2012 19:08

Ok. So. So far today, I have had:

Half a glass of orange
2 hot chocolates
4 mushrooms
...and a two slices of garlic baguette because DP wanted a snack before dinner Sad

I will be having egg and beans on toast for my dinner. I'm a bit gutted about the garlic bread tbh.

TwllBach · 25/06/2012 19:09

OOh Milkshake do you have a recipe for your soup?
