OH Its 2 pages! So exciting! Hello and welcome everyone!

I need to point out I loved zelda for the record!

Katespade- you dont mean 1000 sit ups in one go?!! I cant even do 5!

I'm actually looking forward to starting tomorrow, a lot more positive than i've been for a long old time.

I am going to be posting weight weekly but anyone who doesnt want to doesnt have to, I'm doing it purely to shame myself each week if i've put on instead of losing! I'm also going to be 100% honest and bug you all most evenings to tell you if i've behaved myself, or if I've actually done any exercise so you can all flame me if not. I've put it in writing i cant go back!

Twllbach - please explain how you are managing to drink hot choccy all day, I'm def missing out on something hereEnvy

You sound so excited OP! You've inspired me all over again Grin

With the hot chocolate, I've been doing lots to distract myself as soon as I feel hungry. So if I'm at work and I feel peckish, I will get up from my desk and clean the glass in the office door (I work in a b and b/campsite so there's always something to do!) I also have tried to schedule my hot chocolate, so I will say to myself "at 12 I will have my hc" and try and stick to it. I am desperately trying to bear in mind that often when I think I'm hungry, I am actually thirsty, so always keep a bottle of water handy.

A few days weren't fun and I was genuinely hungry, but others where I have been busy I would reach dinner time and realise that I wasn't hungry, which surprised me, because food is very central to my day normally because I stuff my face all the time

MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 21:11

I have a 10 min spot where i'm starving and feel sick with hunger, then 2 mins later its totally gone and i'm still not that bothered by tea time just need to learn to last the 10 bloody minutes I've recently changed my hours at work and no longer have a lunch break so that would be ideal for me to stick to liquids..hmmm something to think about, I take it u mean the hot choccy options or the like?

EBDTeacher · 24/06/2012 21:15

Ooh, can I be in? I'm a size 18 Blush and intend to get back to a 10. I'm thinking of getting a fitbit when I get paid.

KateSpade · 24/06/2012 21:18

Maybe not in one go. Probably in sets on 250 or 500, then a break, then back again.

I used to have a lovely hourglass stomache but now its a huge ball of flab. I look at least 6 months pregnant. Its horrific.

MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 21:29

I saw one of them today i want one too EBDTeacher, I may as well whistle for it though as no hope of affording one. They do look clever though dont they?

Katespade - you. are. crazy! Well done though, I'd never want be able to manage that, I have got one of them twist plates under my bed, where you just literally stand and twist and it gives you a stitch tones your tummy muscles. Might get that out and have a go during the week. I still have a disgusting wobbly baby belly but ds is almost 3Blush

OP posts:
MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 21:31

Urghh sorry I use the word 'though' far far to much and strike outs

OP posts:
Sleepwhenidie · 24/06/2012 21:33

Sorry katespade but your time could be so much better spent in the gym than doing 1000 sit ups! Apologies for DM link but this is informative and there is loads more if you google benefits of sit ups or similar. Also be very very careful of your back to training your abs after giving birth, it's surprising how much weaker it can be.

KateSpade · 24/06/2012 21:44

I do 40 Mins of Cardo Exercise a day. Am attempting to make it varied with the Gym.

I would 100% be happy with the rest of my body as it is back boobs and all if my stomach was flat. That article is heartbreaking, but probably correct in suggesting i change my routine. Tomorrow i will do the walking Lunge, i quite like lunges, i can always feel it in my upper thighs the day after!

MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 21:50

what about pilates(sp)? I did that for a few weeks last year which I could feel working, cant think why i stopped it..may do that once a week too

I'm loving all these ideas! Thank you!!

TwllBach · 24/06/2012 21:53

My worst time of day is 3 in the afternoon. Almost on the dot - its scary! Yes I mean just the bog standard supermarket hot chocolate - ive go the cadburys options.

TwllBach · 24/06/2012 21:55

Ooh Pilates is good! I have a DVD and if I stick to it for a while you can see a difference. After a couple of days I felt different too, which was nice. Another poster mentioned the shred as well - I did it for two weeks and definitely saw a change but have been too scared to start again

willbeskinny · 24/06/2012 22:02

Can I join? Been dieting on and off since I cant remember. WW, SW, Slim Fast I've done them all. Going to try calorie counting.
Main prob is lack of excercise, so need to get into a regular routine.
I shall weigh in tmrw. Good luck to everybody Smile

MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 22:12

Good luck to you too willbeskinny!

TwllBack I know what u mean bout not wanting to start the shread again, i'm going to brave it as a few times a week workout at first.. not just that i dont want dp to see me dying from it either!

Slim fast is terrible, I've never been so hungry in all my life doing that, terrible idea!

OP posts:
MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 22:29

Right ladies, the football has finished so i am off to bed.

Good luck to everyone either starting this week or ongoing. WE WILL BE SKINNY!

What exercise/activities are people doing? I think I'm far too fussy Hmm I walk with the dog and I've taken up horse riding again, but I'd love to do something else. I don't want to join the gym and can't go swimming till I've lost weight so don't scare the children Grin

KateSpade · 24/06/2012 22:39

Their are no Pilates classes near me, its annoying especially as my local Spinning Class is always booked up!

Ive seen a Jillian Michaels DVD called Six Week Abs, i think i may order that and see what it does!

Eggrules · 24/06/2012 22:41

Please may I join?

I am too embarrassed to post my weight. Blush I need to take DS swimming and would look like this >>> Angry with mortification.

Monday post school run weigh in sounds good to me. Been doing 2 weeks of cutting down in preparation for actually getting on with it.

wherearemysocks · 24/06/2012 23:24

Hello all, I'd like to join too please.

I won't bore you with my dieting history - it is very varied with limited, and only short term successes. At my lowest I have been a size 8, at my biggest a size 18.

I am trying to do low carb and also using MFP.

Who ever mentioned it earlier, I have just got a fitbit and it is really good. It also links up to MFP so it adds on your exercise calories earnt without you having to work it out.

TwllBach · 25/06/2012 06:35

I can already tell today is going to be a bad day Sad I've had about four and a half hours sleep and I will be tempted to snack on chocolate for a quick fix. If anyone feels like shouting at me, feel free!

I hope every one has a good day Grin

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 06:50

More people! Welcome All!!

I've just got a pilates dvd, am lone parent (with a dp but he's relatively new and not round my finger yet) so cant go running, or to the gym/special classes due to childcare. Tis frustrating! (very good excuse to impulse buy lots of crap for home though..twist board..a rower stretchy thingy..exercise bike etc etc)

So then, Today is the day where I officially give you all permission to be a meany if i'm slacking...

Shall we start a list for everyone weighing in today? Just so we can see everyones in one go? Or not if no one wants to, Just do what ever works.

Milkshake - 12st 5lb

Goodluck everyone!!

And TwllBach, dispite coming across like a over excited puppy I actually feel like a zombie inside, try and fake it and see if it works for you the trick is to not rest/sit down/chill out even though thats what you want more than being skinny. ds woke me up at 3.20 screaming about robots and i couldnt for the life of me get back to sleep til half hour before my alarm, naturally. I feel like a dead weight. Snot fair!

KateSpade; 1000 situps sounds like too much, if your abdominals are slightly separated after pregnancy situps can make them worse because they push the stomach out. I was enormous after having my baby and still looked eight months pregnant until I was recovered enough to exercise again. I did the exercises in this video and they were brilliant in bringing my stomach back to normal.

She also has other videos to get abs back after birth when they're not separated but I'd do the above first, they will make a big difference and if you can manage a thousand situps you are dedicated enough to succeed in anything, you just need the right exercises! Do about 20 reps of each, no more than 5 sets.

Also, I'd suggest some weight training if you're not already doing it. It builds muscle all over which burns fat and gives great tone, it's excellent for the abs as they are being worked as well. Pilates is also good, if you don't have any classes near you, you can get a dvd.

Focusing on all over body conditioning as well as the abs will help with posture, shape and bringing your stomach in. Hope this can be of some help to you, best of luck Smile

bobbledunk · 25/06/2012 06:59

Sorry forgot to convert link!

TheOneWithTheHair · 25/06/2012 07:07

Well done Milkshake. Step one of posting your weight is done. I will come back and post mine later. I fear it will be considerably more than that though.

I will shelve my embarrassment and be honest though. :)

MilkshakeMaker · 25/06/2012 07:17

I have to admit I'm quite pleased with that its been months since I bothered and still managed to somehow lose 4lb.. hoping its not another few months to lose another 4 though, I'm not really going to focus on the weight its more how I feel/look so will buy a tape measure on way home from work and post them too so I can keep a eye on what really matter!
