If you've poked your head around the door of this thread then please read ourOld Thread, read all the posts, all the links and the links within links and then jump in with both feet to a new, better Way Of Eating (WOE)

Roll Up, Roll Up for the all new, amazing thread for those of us who are trying to eat good, healthy, natural foods while counting our calories and eating LOADS!

We had some brilliant successes on the last thread - inches AND pounds lost and lots of people feeling happier, calmer and more focussed on their goals.

Remember that this is NOT a DIET, it is a healthy way of eating. You will NOT lose 5lbs a week - you might even GAIN weight in the first weeks!

I know what you mean CJ - but I really think it's down to planning - It's a PITA, but I think it helps to take advantage of 3 for ten offers and BOGOFs and then bulk cooking and freezing and eating leftovers for lunch and such.

Shy - I make mine in a tupperware bowl!

half a stone! I've lost half a stone! My belt is two holes tighter than it used to be, and I can fit comfortably into the dress-I-made-too-small-by-mistake dress that's been gloating at me for months!

Thanks for Shirley, I luffs you! Grin

Shy, I've been using an old jam jar, but only because my plastic pots that are the right size are all in use. I really must have a freezer clear out. Blush

Wow MrsMango!

Knitknack that was the program I saw advertised, I couldn't remember the name or time... which paleo book are you reading? I've got the New Evolution Diet which was featured in the ST mag a year or so ago. He started by investigating blood sugar because his son is diabetic.

We have a food doctor book too, the maintenance one, which has some nice recipes in. Shirl, I tried Nigella's chilli lime basa fillets the other day, really yummy. Great with salmon too.

We are having "ketchup" chicken (branded for the kids) a version of a Madhur Jaffrey recipe like chicken tikka but with ketchup (reduced salt/sugar) not yoghurt.

Succumbed to some dairy milk as no dark choc. It tasted too sickly and sweet now.

Shock MrsMango! That's brilliant :o

I make my fridge porridge in a round tupperware pot with a clippy lid. It's the perfect size.

MrsMango that is amazing! Grin

I am off to have a look at your MFP food diary!

I am so tired. I have eaten too many carbs today and not enough protein. Yuck yuck.

Just marking my place. I was doing mfp at 1200 kcals and it was just not enough and i plataued, I had also stalled at slimming world aftre having lost about 2 stone since birth of dd. Keep yoyoing back and forth, so recently read an e book by tom venuto. Lost a few pounds but have stalled again a bit as I have been unable to exercise due to illness. This book advocates eating 5 meals a day which I just found too difficult so may just stick to the calorie allowance, clean up my diet and get exercising again while I can. Thing is i have a holiday in 2 weeks and a wedding in august so am tempted to try and blast it off by going abck to 1200 while i can't exercise... WWYD?

Right I have just eaten some apple and some nuts and made myself a cuppa.

Ali - you click on their name and it will say View Diary.

MrsMango that's amazing! Well done!

I still weigh the same as I did a month ago (and two months ago and three months ago) but have achieved some shrinkage in size, so I'm not too concerned.

Feeling really low on energy today, have PMT. humph. Need to work up to Insanity in a bit.

Brilliant MrsMango well done!

Quick Q about logging exercise- I chose moderate on the calculator but I don't do an awful lot, just school runs and normal cleaning etc. I do sit about a bit in the evenings. Anyway, today as well as school runs I did about 25 mins extra walking with a baby in the buggy, so I have logged it, but it has given me extra calories to eat! So, should I eat them? Sorry if not making sense, am exhausted! What I mean is, am I doing the right thing by logging this as extra and eating the extra cals, or should this walk just be counted in the moderate activity level?

I am SAFTFBS now, the bugger told me I was heavier this morning. I am pretending I didn't see it Grin.

Toby how is the fuelband going? What else does it do apart from be a pedometer?

Just did poached chicken in a made up tomato sauce with pasta and veg, the kids and DH loved it! Much better than oven chips Wink

Bloody rain here (IoW) meant not only was today's overpriced day out bloomin well shut, but lots of the roads were too, which meant ultimately 90 mins in the car to get to Blackgang Chine. Anyway we had a fab day in the end, and although I keep not MFP-ing, I'm going to assume that pushing the buggy up hill and down dale more than compensated for the mini-donuts and ice-cream Grin

Non-scale victory here - belt a notch tighter! Nothing to do with my jeans getting looser with age of course?

Thank you all :) Sorry for the delay in replying, been out walking with DD. I've got the same name on MFP as I have on here. I've just made my diary viewable (including the kfc!Blush) I haven't been tracking my exercise, I do do some, it's just not on there, honest guv! Grin

We're about to have poached chicken too AllMuddledUp

Gosh, even after I've put dinner in (chicken curry and white rice (had just bought big bag of rice before starting this WOE and am using it up. Will buy brown next time)) I've still got 730 cals today! Confused Am already over on fat, though.

Have sent you a friend request, MrsMango. I didn't realise I had to put your entire name in to find you. I don't track my exercise either - I selected 'moderate' which is about right for walking the dog and doing bits of housework. If I ever start Shredding I'll put that in as extra.

ShirleyKnot · 12/06/2012 18:25

AMU - no. You will not need to eat the extra calories!

Right thanks Shirley. So for me then it's better to not bother entering exercise on MFP cos it just confuses me! And I never do mega burns like some of you.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 12/06/2012 18:42

Ha, have just reached a bit in Dr Briffa's Escape The Diet Trap saying that high fat diets actually make you lose weight fastest! So I needn't think of fat-free snacks at all.

Trills · 12/06/2012 19:14

I had a persian chicken and avocado salad for lunch, definitely low carb. Thinking of chicken and noodles in soup with lots of veg for dinner. It's difficult when I'm commuting, much easier if I'm at home and can cook eggs.

Thanks for posting your menu Shirley, I love looking at menus. :)

It's not the same, I want to hear people's descriptions and see their links to recipes. Posting it here has more personality.

Remind me why we are having nut milk. I just popped into the corner shop on the way back from the station on a whim and got some soya milk. Is that any better than normal milk?
