mummyduff · 09/06/2012 18:19

Have just weighed myself after holiday and have not gained any weight Smile

Thegoddessblossom · 09/06/2012 18:58

Well I ate my swede shepherd's pie but I then had to have some if the pear and blackberry crumble as everyone shouted at me and called me a feeder.

It was delish tho.

moonshine · 09/06/2012 19:29

Poor you Mummyduff - I hope she was suitable contrite. Bad at any age but surely at aged 20 she should be on the verge of knowing better!

SO many of you are doing do well (and special well done to Jacaqueen because it has obviously been life changing) I have avoided posting because everyone is doing so well, even with 'cheats' whilst I have pretty rigidly stuck to the plan and, apart from week 1, have lost not a thing. And I am not losing inches (did the first week around waist but that's it). And I have several stones to lose. I really don't want to be the voice of doom on the thread but I just feel really crap atm - why can't I lose weight? Sad

SingingTunelessly · 09/06/2012 19:53

Moonshine, how much weight do you have to lose? Have you posted a couple of days eating? Have.you had a thyroid check?

I've been lurking (with some PM help kick up the arse from the lovely BIWI) because I have an under active thyroid and my weight loss has always been negliable or zero no matter what diet I went on. BUT I am happy to report a 9lb loss on this WOE - hurrah!

Mummy - what a horrible homecoming for you. Sad

moonshine · 09/06/2012 20:32

SingingTunelessly I need to lose just under 3 stones to get to a healthy bmi, although I'd be happy with 2 stones (or anything at this rate).

Out of interest why did you get your thyroid checked - what were your symptoms? I have thought about going but a) hate doctors and b) am sure he would probably think 'here's another fat loon who's blaming her thyroid and just not trying'.

MsRinky · 09/06/2012 21:08

How frustrating for you moonshine.

I'm on my own this evening, so treated myself to an indulgent supper of seared scallops with marsala cream chive sauce. Divine.

NigellasGuest · 09/06/2012 21:21

I have been feeling nauseous for 3 days now - a quick google told me it's a side affect of this WOE - is that true? if so, what can I do to get rid of it or at least make it better? Google just says it's one of the reasons to not do this WOE! Sad

SingingTunelessly · 09/06/2012 21:40

Moonshine, I have PM'd you to save clogging up the thread with my boring thyroid talk. But do post a couple of days food including every drop of water (!) so maybe BIWI or the other stars on here can help out.

Creamtea1 · 09/06/2012 21:43

Just had a look at the spreadsheet, can't believe we're still going since 16th April - time has flown! Wondering if it should still be bootcamp or just about a new woe, it's got to be a change for life. Took ds2 to a party today and after usual diet comments there was lots of (unsubtle) digs about how it's the maintaining the new weight and keeping the weight off that's hard, and how so and so is a real yo yo dieter etc etc...felt like a lot was aimed at me (it wont last comments etc)
All the more reason to prove them wrong!

smokinaces · 09/06/2012 21:43

Vnmum, it was a mix. One weight loss, one I wasn't hungry so would be eating for eatings sake, another I know how my blood sugars would have gone from sweets. The cheesecake did look nice I admit, but my stomach wouldn't have appreciated it. I suffer from ibs which just doesn't happen anymore on this diet.

MNP · 09/06/2012 23:36

Yes 9-10pm seems to be a good time for bargains at our store vnmum

BIWItheBold · 10/06/2012 09:30

NigellasGuest - nausea should only be a side effect of low carbing in the first few (withdrawal) days. There is absolutely no reason why eating low carb food should make you feel like that.

Are you pregnant? Wink

What have you been eating? Have you been eating a lot of dairy? You could be intolerant to that, if so.

moonshine - how very frustrating for you. List out for me what you've been eating and drinking over the last 3 or 4 days and let me see if there's anything I can spot/help you with.

creamtea - other people are the greatest saboteurs known to man! Sometimes I think they don't want you to be slim. (Obviously they would deny that). But why else make such insensitive comments?

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/06/2012 09:58

I'd like to join please if that is OK?

Going to go and find the boot camp rules and get planning tonight...

SharonGless · 10/06/2012 10:20

Morning all, went to wedding last night wearing my new dress and felt fantastic! DH most impressed with the new me Wink plus I feel better in myself iyswim. Food was cold meats, salmon and salad and I just skipped the potatoes and bread rolls and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I drank far too much but made sure I had lots of water with it, and if you can't drink at a wedding when can you !

SharonGless · 10/06/2012 10:23

Just catching up with thread - mummy duff what a nightmare. How did the party go last night?
Welcome to the merry throng to Silkie and Mrs HP, loads of support on here.

Moonshine - please don't give up. If you have been strict and still not losing then you may need a trip to Gp. It could be life changing for you

BIWItheBold · 10/06/2012 10:25

Hmm. Were you at the same wedding as me, Sharon?!

Welcome, MrsHP.

Chat thread for week 9 is here

And the weigh-in Spreadsheet Of Marvellousness is here

BIWItheBold · 10/06/2012 10:26

.... I have to share show off this - DH told me on the way home last night that I was "the prettiest girl at the wedding". And I looked lovely.

Grin

Alcohol may have been involved.

SharonGless · 10/06/2012 10:37

Yeay to Mr BIWI!

You would have recognized me in my green frock that's for sure ;)

In th sold days I wouldn't have worn a colour which made me stand out like that. This Woe really has boosted my confidence and the age old saying of nothing tastes as good as being slim feels really rings true for me

Jins · 10/06/2012 16:08

Hi BIWI - this is where you convert everyone then is it?

moonshine · 10/06/2012 16:54

Thank you so much SingingTunelessly - I have Pm'd you back.

And thanks for all others messages of support.

SharonGless - I think you are right about going to the docs and, following SingingTunelessly's info, I have decided I will go and have a chat (unfortunately can't do it until next week because of work commitments this week).

BIWI I need to chat to my doctor first and if it turns out it's not a medical problem then I would appreciate help going through my food with a fine tooth comb. But I think I'll still carry on with this WOE as at least I eat quite well and don't put on weight (well not significant amounts)!

But tonight I stray I'm afraid......

As for Mr BIWI - that melted my hardened heart [wipes away tear on your behalf]

And welcome to all new and prospective lc'ers. Despite all my problems I do believe this is a great WOE (let's not call it a diet!)

mummyduff · 10/06/2012 18:06

SingingTunelessly fantastic loss well done.

BIWI what your DH said is so lovely. Have fun in the sun Smile

SharonGless isn't it nice feeling better and having DH etc comment. My party went really well, had lots of comments about my weight loss also. which really cheered me upGrin

moonshine dont give up, I'm sure things will start to happen soon x

Big hello to the newbies, hope you love this WOE as much as I doSmile

jan2011 · 10/06/2012 21:50

BIWI and Sharon brill that you are doing so great and out having good times and showing off your new figures! well done.

i went out for dinner 3 course meal today and had: egg and asparagus starter, seabass and vegetable main, berries and cream for dessert ( i asked for this and they did it especially for me everyone else had icecream and strawberries and chocolate dip!)
i think i managed to avoid all carbs except some milk in my coffee and a sneaky dip of mums chocolate sauce. oh and a couple of carrots. quite proud of myself even if i did get a few funny looks at the table about my fussy ordering (eg sauce on the side etc)

hoping for a good week.

BIWItheBold · 10/06/2012 23:01

Well done, jan! That meal sounds lovely.

Jins · 12/06/2012 11:19

Well I'm neither new or a prospective LC'er as I'm still in maintenance 8 years on but it's nice to see people taking on this WOE so enthusiastically and seeing benefits from it.

Good luck to all - you're in good hands with BIWI

MNP · 12/06/2012 19:12

A small loss which makes me happy as last week detoured from the plan at times.
