Well I'm feeling a bit warmer now I'm in my pyjamas with a tum full of pork steaks, samphire and buttered greens

MmeLindor. · 06/06/2012 19:21

Don't think it is the WOE, as I haven't been very strict this past week.

Anyway, back on track today and feeling much better for it.

I think I will have to put the WOE on hold when I go to Kenya next week. Not sure how well I will be able to stick to it when I don't have control over what I am eating. Plus, I will have to have everything cooked well. No salads, soft boiled eggs etc.

MmeLindor. · 06/06/2012 19:22

oh, and am neither warmer nor cooler. Despite the pouring rain all day.

heartstart · 06/06/2012 19:51

Evening all

Just checking in welcome to all new people.

B boiled egg
L ham and salad from canteen as forgot lunch
D pulled pork and coleslaw

3.5 l water so far

SharonGless · 06/06/2012 20:05

Evening everyone. After yesterday's sugar debacle I have been on track and sloshing in water. DH making tea though and despite trying to explain to him about LC he is making sweet and sour pork Ina jar sauce. FFS. I a, making courgette noodles to go with it but honestly he just won't listen. It's a flipping low fat sauce as apparently it is the lowest carb one he could find. Sobs.

Retreating to bed I think and writing today off

heartstart · 06/06/2012 20:10

Sharon, have you got a tin of tuna or something you could have with the noodles.

Keep smiling

NigellasGuest · 06/06/2012 21:01

Hello - I'm about to have home made chicken and vegetable soup and some blackberries with cream for pudding. I'm drinking loads but it means I have to get up in the night. I'm peeing in my sleep now - nodded off sitting on the loo the other night!

smokinaces · 06/06/2012 21:14

Tonight I put some effort in and made minced beef with shallots, courgettes, mushroom and fresh tomato with a mashed celeriac and cheese topping, shepherds pie style. Was absolutely bloody lovely.

SharonGless · 07/06/2012 09:04

Morning all, new day new start and all that. Two boiled eggs for breakfast tuna salad made for lunch and lv curry and cauliflower rice for tea.
I read a few chapters of IPD last night. India does really get it and it is totally the emotional side that I struggle with.

GreenEyesAndHam · 07/06/2012 10:14

Good morning all

Well I am within a few pounds of target now, so time to step up the exercise....I was out at HALF SIX this morn, jogging kind of

Bloody knackered now, think it's going to be a looonnng day

BIWItheBold · 07/06/2012 10:24

Hah! Beat you. I was up at 6 to go to the gym!

BIWItheBold · 07/06/2012 10:24
GreenEyesAndHam · 07/06/2012 10:31

BAH

Grin

Deffo beat me, I don't even belong to a gym! I did once. Didn't go much Blush

BIWItheBold · 07/06/2012 10:43

I love it. I have a personal trainer who is brutal with me - which is fab, because it really pushes me much more than I would if I was there on my own! (Never mind getting me up so ridiculously early!)

Mind you, I don't really think I can afford it for much longer, as it is really expensive.

Bloody well done on being so close to your target though. Grin Thanks

It's all very slow for me, with still a way to go. I'm going to review things when I get to 9 stone 7 and see how much further I want to go - the advantage of the gym work is that I definitely look better even at a higher weight, so I may not go all the way to my original target of 9 stone.

GreenEyesAndHam · 07/06/2012 10:49

I think a personal trainer is what I'd need, as I really struggle to stay motivated in the gym- it's like I feel I've done enough just by being there or something. Don't think I could afford one though, and God forbid, if I told DH he'd no doubt offer to do it for me Grin

It's great having dropped the pounds, but I really want this to be a lifestyle change for me, and that means getting fitter (and firmer!)

GreenEyesAndHam · 07/06/2012 10:53

Can I ask how you're managing to work out on the low carbs though?

I've always been used to having a banana or something before properly exercising, can't do that now

WillieWaggledagger · 07/06/2012 10:58

i used to do cross country and would run 7 miles at before 6.30am and before breakfast but I can't do that on this woe - i have to do the exercise after work in the evening. i tried exercising before eating in the morning but felt very sick and unpleasant.

however, before this woe i was fit for nothing in the evening and couldn't manage to gear myself up to do exercise, but now i have plenty of energy

NigellasGuest · 07/06/2012 11:15

I do the Shred first thing before breakfast - I can't imagine doing it with food in my stomach. I usually feel pretty full still from the previous night's dinner.
(actually, I do have one thing before exercise which is a coffee with cream).

BIWItheBold · 07/06/2012 11:17

TBH, when I used to be a regular gym goer a million years ago I never ate anything before the gym.

Now, I generally have either a boiled egg/hard boiled egg or some yoghurt. The latter if it's an early start as I generally can't face either cooking or eating much at that time. I choose those on the basis that they are protein and (in the case of the yoghurt) high fat.

And I have a hard hour's workout with the trainer, and it's always been fine.

WillieWaggledagger · 07/06/2012 11:39

nigella i don't exercise directly after eating, but i will have eaten about five or so hours before compared to ten hours if i did it in the morning. in any case these days i leave the house at 6am for work so i would have to get up at about 4 to fit exercise in!

GreenEyesAndHam · 07/06/2012 12:19

Thanks, guess I'll continue doing it on an empty stomach unless I really struggle.

More than I would anyway I mean Blush

moonshine · 07/06/2012 12:47

I always exercise on an empty stomach (and always have done even in my heavy-carb days) but I do always have at least half a cup of black coffee beforehand - some caffeine is supposed to help.

Thegoddessblossom · 07/06/2012 13:01

lovely lunch of courgette and salami omelette. Yum.

NigellasGuest · 07/06/2012 13:05

Hi WillieWaggle wow I guess running 7 miles is jjust a bit more than doing the 20 minute shred! I think I would need a banquet before that! Do you still regularly run that kind of distance?

A long time ago I had a personal trainer too, and he definitely advocated working out first thing on an empty stomach except for a really strong black coffee, moonshine. I must admit, the only time I actually took his advice I really couldn't cope with the workout. However, I was doing low fat at that tiime. I got down to just under 9 stone on that WOE and with regular gym going. Obviously, it has all piled back on again since. I'm hoping this time a slower loss will mean I can keep it off and have a genuine change for life. I rather like Dr Briffa's theory that you don't actually need to do too much excercise. [geek emotcion because i have bought his book] Grin

NigellasGuest · 07/06/2012 13:08

btw BIWI secretly my target is 9 stone again - but being currently 10 and a half stone I can safely say I will not be making a "close to target" reference quite yet!
