Yes, it is cushion plumping time again Grin

Pull up your favourite chair (I'm bagging the one in the corner thanks Grin) stick your feet up and join in with the nattering.

Plenty of room for everyone Grin

Hellooooooo everyone!

Face We need to know what you're cooking on Saturday please. Well, I do. At least we can sit here and dribble while we munch scan bran Wink

Huff Good luck for next week!

I've been to Watford and back this morning. Just past the football ground actually. My hands are all tingly from the long drive (just over 200 miles in all!). And third time lucky, we brought back an 11 year old picasso which dd has named Peppa (even though it's blue Grin). It needs one or two bits doing, but it'll be an improvement on our current transport.

I had my appointment come through today to see the consultant re the partial hysterectomy, but it's when I'm on holiday. Need to change that. And now of course I'm having second thoughts Confused.

Food for the day is a bit bad, due to leaving the house so flaming early

Breakfast - cup of tea
Lunch - cup of tea, hopefully 2 slices of hobbit toast and cheese tringles in a minute, banana and a yogurt
Tea - Left over beef rogan josh, veggies and 2 x alpen lights later on

Despite eating nothing so far today, I'm not hungry. Weird.

Get lots of Superfree into you bee!!

My good today hasn't been too bad though could have been better!!

B: banana and kiwi and a coffee
L: mugshot, apple and blueberries
D: planned a roast pork dinner, the pork is stuffed so syns in they and as this is my first Thursday off work since last year, we're going to get icecream!! Yay!

grinningbee · 10/05/2012 15:28

Yay for the day off FHF.

I'm thinking of trying a nice big stir fry of free veggies for lunch as a change. That might help. Today the problem was that we got up at 5.30 (boo) and out the house an hour later to go and get the car. Sounds like plenty of time, but I had to get the dc ready/fed/pack snacks. I never leave enough time for me!

Yes, my menus are definitely lacking free food. Must make more effort. Will plan it all later and food shop tomorrow. Going to have a look on the SW website in a mo for more inspiration on recipes.

Choc you pm'ed me yesterday by mistake I think. Want me to forward it on to Face for you?

FairhairedandFrustrated · 10/05/2012 15:44

Hysterectomy? Is that for medical reasons or because your family is complete?
It's ok if you'd rather not say, but it seems like a big move.

grinningbee · 10/05/2012 16:09

FHF It's ok to ask, I've mentioned it here Smile. I've got a stupidly big fibroid that you can see when I lay down (Tis the size of being 20 weeks pg I'm told). It's on a long stalk too, so can move from one side of my body to the other. Which is weird Grin As I've lost some blubber now it's become more visible, but it is hurting and also causing some Blush bladder problems.

I have the choice of just it being taken out (but could come back), the whole lot whipped out (don't fancy early menopause though), or the partial. Seems a bit daft to get a sunroof put in only to have the problem come back, hence the decision to go for the partial. I'm coming up for 42 later this year, and although another baby would be nice, for many reasons it is not a good idea. Especially not with Thing being the way he is!

It was just that when I got the letter today, it all seemed rather final. I dunno. It's such a big decision to make.

Sorry for the long "me" post!

My Internet has gone down. Dh is working on it and list will follow. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

kid · 10/05/2012 22:28

When something is described as 'speed food' just how long are we talking? Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 10/05/2012 23:09

Well kid, today when I was scraping leftover speed curry into the dogs bowl, I thought, haaaaaa thank goodness it's not me that picks up after her!!!

Dinner was lush, syns on gravy and stuffing, had a strawberry ice-cream afterwards too so tomorrow will be syn free.... Have fruit for breakfast and have made chicken noodle soup for lunch.

Unsure yet what dinner will be but dh does the cooking on a Friday so he'll look after me :)

kid · 10/05/2012 23:13

I've got through today with minimal syns. The only syns I've used were on sugar in tea at work (1.5 tsps altogether)

I haven't got round to writing everything down in advance but I do decided before I go to bed if I'm having a green day or a red day. I haven't been making my lunch before bed which isn't good. I need to get back into the habit again as my mornings are getting more and more rushed.

LakeFlyPie · 11/05/2012 07:26

Morning Smile

Just a quick one.
Had a delicious (but way off plan) meal last night and lovely to catch up with a retired colleague. Diner was rocket, fig and pecan salad with blue cheese and raspberry dressing (probably not too bad) and feta, spinach and pistachio filo pie (probably v bad) although was served with salad. Avoided pudding and just had coffee, which was quite saintly I thought, although rather spoilt that saintliness by coming home and having a Special K bar and a lemon and raisin pancake Hmm

Anyway, food today:
BF: Bluebrries, mango + FF yog
L: Another buffet at work (there's always a birthday or someone leaving it seems) will take fruit and should be able to do something on plan.
D: I think Speed curry + rice + veg

Will catch up properly later

grinningbee · 11/05/2012 07:39

Arf at left over speed curry for the dog! I bet that has whiffy consequences Grin

I managed just 3 syns yesterday for an extra slice of bread. So not bad at all.

Face I hope you're up and running on the old internet soon! Don't worry about when the list is done.

Food for the day:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp jam (0.5 syn), banana
Omelette with cherry tomatoes and ham, apple and a yogurt
Sausages (2 syns), bacon, eggs and tomatoes and 2 x alpen lights later on

Shopping a bit later today and I'm going to buy a nice big heap of veggies for stir frying etc.

Huffpot · 11/05/2012 07:48

Lol at the possible dog splatters FHF

I am not in a happy place. I managed to hurt my back yesterday morning jumping up to take something off the DC and my whole back spasmed and am still in pain.
Looking afer 2 toddlers while being barely able to move wasn't fun but they were very good for me really. Got the OH to pick up ibuprofen on his way home and as soon as DC were in bed I went too and just lay down the rest of the night. Still quite sore today and thinking I might go and see the doctor.
I'm petrified it might effect my surgery. I really want it to still be next week when my parents can look after the children or it'll be awful.

So to be honest food is going to be flexible as its whatever I can do quickly while feeding children!

Aggghhhhhh!

brafullofcrumbs · 11/05/2012 11:03

Ouch Huff :( take it easy!!
Food y'day was slightly wonky, ended up having 12 syns instead of the planned 9.5 but nevermind.
Today's food
B fruit and fibre an milk (hea and heb) apple
L left over pasta thingy from last night
D who knows, out for a meal Hmm
snacks alpen bar (3 syns) fruit

FairhairedandFrustrated · 11/05/2012 22:50

Food today ok I think :)

B: kiwi, banana, apple
L: chicken noodle soup followed by yog and grapes, kiwi and orange.
D: chop, potato, fried egg and beans followed by grapes, blueberries, pear snd apple.

Snack this evening popcorn (measured 25g out for 6syns but dh ate half them)

THEN this totally amazing man I married has made me THE most delicious potato cakey thing!!

Free and soooooo tasty!! Left over mash blended with a little egg, salt and pepper :) and fried in fry light!!

LakeFlyPie · 11/05/2012 23:05

Evening Smile

FHF your DH's creation sounds lovely, does he follow SW himself or just cook with your plan in mind?

Huff oh no, poor you, can you keep taking painkillers and keep moving as normally as possible? Hope you wake up more comfortable tomorrow.

Finally noticed work trouser waistband feeling a bit looser not painfully tight today. It's strange how I don't feel any difference for ages and then it seems like an inch or so disappears overnight. Does anyone else notice this?
Hope it's the start of a definite and fast moving trend, my friend's wedding (my 1st weight loss milestone) is 3 weeks today Shock

OK day foodwise (green):
BF: Mango, blueberries + FF yog
L: Salad, tuna pasta (HEb) apple, pear
D: Speed curry + rice, mango, strawberries
S: Flapjack (7 syns), slice edam (HEa) Muller
Milk in coffee (HEa)

kid · 11/05/2012 23:41

I find that the waistband on my clothes can vary day by day. I'd love it to just get smaller every day but one day it might be smaller and the next a bit bigger.

Its the weekend again which is great but a real struggle for SW if we go out anywhere. I think I should stick to a synfree breakfast and carry a HEb bar with me so I can at least munch on that if we stop anywhere for food while out.

I think we are going cinema tomorrow which is fine. I'll happily sip some water and take some chopped fruit with me. DH and DS can eat all the popcorn by themselves.

That potato sounds lovely and one I'll be trying soon.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/05/2012 00:13

25g of cinema popcorn is 6 syns - it's quite a lot when you weigh it out as its really light.

Lake - dh has lost 2st and is a target member of sw :). He always does the cooking as he's in before me most days.

  • that plus the fact he's a fkn control freak...!!!!!! (in a nice way)
FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/05/2012 00:14

Re: waistbands, mine are the same on a daily basis!! Saw a pic of me someone tagged mr in on Facebook, and I look like shite. The extra weight is really noticeable.

grinningbee · 12/05/2012 09:37

Good morning!

I love fried mashed potato (fry light of course). We make bubble and squeak and then fry it to get lots of brown crispy bits in it. Yum yum yum.

Today I am out for the middle of the day, so food will look like this:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 x tsp jam (0.5 syn), banana
2 x alpen lights with an apple (hopefully - will be mooching around)
Huge stir fry with loads of veggies, noodles and quorn pieces (1 syn for sweet chilli sauce)

I may treat myself to some choc tonight, but we'll have to see.

Have a fab day everyone Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 12/05/2012 19:27

Hey bee:)

How'd today go? Did you have a nice time?

Today was a very housework based day for me.... Boring!!!!

Ironing, ugh....

Food today so far ok

B: yog and fruit
L: chicken noodle soup followed by yog and grapes. A pear.
D: beef and black bean sauce 5 syns and boiled rice. Using some syns on prawn crackers too.

grinningbee · 12/05/2012 20:41

Urgh, housework. I'm saving mine for in the week. It was very today nice thanks, although dd was a complete pain in the bum. I have a fascination with all things ancient Egypt, so to go and see some mummies was good. Didn't get long to look though thanks to dd... Hmm I've seen mummified cats before, but they also had a rather sad and tiny mummified kitten. Bless!

And I bought a new washing machine, woohoo! It's coming on Tuesday, and not before time. The washing pile is now massive.

I've ended up having a flexible syn day as I cannot bring myself to cook tonight after wrangling the dc all day around a busy town centre. Thing is at the chinese and I'm having a chicken chow mein (7 syns) and some wine (13 syns). Still not too bad, and not massively over. I shall have to be good tomorrow, even though we're off to Skeggy.

The dc are still awake and calling for me. It's going to be one of those nights...
