Yes, it is cushion plumping time again Grin

Pull up your favourite chair (I'm bagging the one in the corner thanks Grin) stick your feet up and join in with the nattering.

Plenty of room for everyone Grin

Right I'm back! I've had pneumonia again, no need for a hospital admission this time thank goodness. Sadly it hast affected my appetite. The antibiotics have kicked in and I'm feeling much better. Anyway, I won't weigh in this weds but will next weds.

Will catch up on thread later but food looks like
B: fruit and ff yog
L: lentil and bacon soup and toast (heb)
D: fish pie with a bit of cheese on top (HEA) broccoli.

Will catch up on Fred later.

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 08:02

Good morning lovlies!

FHF This thread ain't being killed off. Unless my next paragraph makes you all feel ill... (please avoid if eating!!)

Right, you have been warned.

This morning has not got off to the best start. DD woke me by shouting "come and get me mummy". That's normal... so in I went to pick her up, but she's holding up both hands which are covered in poo. And as she sits up she is laying in a huge puddle of poo Sad. Poor little thing has a very bad tummy, and I had to shower her off as it was everywhere.

Did I also mention our washing machine is knackered? I'm just trying it again, but it doesn't seem to drain properly.

Anyway - well done everyone on the good weekend food planning. The night I said I might have a treat I didn't, and yesterday was also good and I turned down chips, crisps, chocolate and just had a banana instead.

Today will be:

Weetabix and a banana
Omelette with cherry tomatoes, yogurt and an apple
Beef rogan josh with veggies, 2 x alpen light for afters

And that looks like it could be a syn free day! Off to weigh myself shortly, but I'm not holding out for anything interesting due to blessed star week.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 08/05/2012 08:03

Oh Face!

Please look after yourself ((hugs)). Get well soon x

OP posts:
FaceCrack · 08/05/2012 08:56

bee that's not a great start to the day. Poor wee girl! How's things? Thing?

Oh no fh&f don't go worrying, the thread always goes a bit quiet at weekends.

Right I'd best organise my pile of size 16 clothes to sell on eBay Smile

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 09:54

Ah, the dc are ok thank you (they both have it - yay) mind you, we've already gone through 5 nappies between them this morning so far Shock

Thing. Being his usual self, and being overly lovey dovey (vom). Still having episodes . On the plus side, he actually had a bath over the weekend. First one this year...

Anyway. Selling all your size 16's eh? Envy. Well done you! Anything exciting happening on the job front? Did dh pass his exam?

I'm a bit miffed with my result this week. I've been 100% on plan, well under syns and I got a paltry small loss. It'd better be down to star week. Grrrr.

OP posts:
FairhairedandFrustrated · 08/05/2012 10:34

Easier sid than done I know grinning, but look at all the changes you've made, how far you've come and think how proud of yourself you should be...!! It's all very easy to get down when we expect big losses and get smaller ones, but it all adds up.

I booked today off work cos the kids are off and tomorrow is my usual day off, so only work Thursday and Friday for me this week Grin (and tonight of course!)

I don't feel any lighter even though food has been good this week - nothing unplanned and nothing overly high in syns. I'm off the tablets the doc give me, (I don't think I updated you on that?) Went back to own doc last week, she said if she'd have seen me the previous appointment she wouldn have recognised that I was overwhelmed and not depressed, would have known I needed counselling as i'm a talker, and would never have given me tabs. So she said to stop taking them and she'd try & organise some counselling for me. (actually she didn't she she'd organise clling, last time I had it I got it myself, hmm, may call and ask what's happening). But already I'm feeling much better for cutting down on work. sorry for the long post!

Food today is looking like this:
Breakfast: Grapefruit, melon and ff yog
Lunch: speed curry & boiled rice
D: unsure as I'll not be home until late.

FaceCrack · 08/05/2012 10:57

That sounds good, I'm glad the doc was helpful. It is always worth trying to see the one who knows you, I reckon. I'm also pleased to hear you are feeling better. Enjoy your day off!

Eeek bee. Poor babies! Nothing like cleaning up poo all day to make you fancy a bar of choc. I'm also on my period this week - cue sugar craving. With regards to thing, I'm glad he's had a bath. Is t really the first one this year? Very worrying about the episodes though, does he have any insight into his illness?

I've got a huge decision to make career wise. I've been offered an amazing opportunity but it will be a period of extended training and lack of certainty with regards to job security for the next 15 months or so. However, it is what I want to do - I just need to decide if I am brave enough to take it!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 08/05/2012 11:19

"It is what I want to do"

That's your answer :)

Neither of my jobs are what i'd call secure, one of them is always under threat, the other varies from week to week so not dependable wage wise.

Where's CSWS, haven't seen her or Ria this wee while?

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 11:23

FHF Glad things are on the up, and have a lovely day off Smile

Face If I had to give a piece of advice, it would be to go for it. Life is far too short and full of worries anyway. If you can end up doing something you really want to do, and be happier for doing it... take it x Smile

Yeah, it really was the first proper wash this year (yuck). And no, he doesn't really know why these episodes keep happening. I'm told it was all a result of being stabbed in the head when he was a bouncer. But who knows really?

Right. I'm off to try and get my breakfast! Not even had my cuppa yet.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 08/05/2012 11:23

We're missing a few - and Lumpy where are you woman???

OP posts:
FaceCrack · 08/05/2012 11:38

I reckon lumpy is lurking

bee I'm aghast at the first PROPER wash of the year. I honestly think you deserve a medal. How you are managing to eat ryvita with all this going on is beyond me.

Thanks for the career advice. I know you are both right. It's the prospect of unemployment in August that is really worrying me. But I can also do temping if necessary I guess.

Chocolategirl3 · 08/05/2012 12:42

Afternoon Ladies xxx have to say after a busy weekend there is no way i will be losing this week, best I can hope for is a maintain, however do feel a gain is more than likely.

Noticed a huge huge difference by knocking the pepsi max on the head, been drinking Robinsons Summer Fruits low cal and have not felt bloated once, so whoever gave me that tip way back in the other thread, thank you x

Had a word with my local butcher re the syn free sausages, he said he hasn't changed the recipe in 20 years and wont be, he said the only thing he may have to change is their name 'syn free' if SW object to him selling them under that name in which case he'll just change the lettering to 'sin free'

So glad they are still syn free as i luv them!!

Hey Facecrack I will be sorting my size 16's out this week too and they will NOT be going back in my wardrobe EVER AGAIN!!!

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 12:56

Yay for another wardrobe sorting. Well done Choc! Glad the reduced fizzy intake is helping Smile I remember the before and after pic when Hedge cleared her wardrobe. Hardly a thing left if I remember right!

After this week, I only have one more weigh in before holiday Sad. I was really hoping to have done better. Any ideas what I can change? Any less syns and I'll be on nothing Confused

Oh well, slow and steady wins the race I s'pose.

OP posts:
FaceCrack · 08/05/2012 13:21

Exercise bee? Yep, there won't be much left in mine by the time I've finished! Where ate you going on hols?

Yay for losing the size 16s choc. Brilliant! Don't worry about a slow week, these things happen. Fizzy drinks are the work of the devil, I avoid a s much as I can. They are full of aspartame.

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 13:50

I'm off to Ria's neck of the woods and going to a Haven park near Filey in Yorkshire. It's only for 4 days, and we are coming back early on the Friday morning as dd has a presentation I don't want her to miss. Actually, I should really think about buying a swimming costume. Urgh.

Looks as if we've got a newer car (hurrah!). Off down to Watford on Thursday to collect it, but the owner says we have to be there before 10am Shock. I am crossing everything that it's ok when we get there (3rd time lucky). Thing will go nuclear if it isn't. At least this one is blue, and can't be ladybirded Wink

Yep, I'm thinking exercise too, but it'll have to be walking with the dc (so at dd's pace). Still, when we eventually move, I shall have that big garden to take care of. That should burn some blubber Grin

OP posts:
Chocolategirl3 · 08/05/2012 14:11

Do a quick workout in the morning consisting of crunches, lunges, press ups and squats. Do it every morning building up your sets each time. I say this but do not do it myself Blush

Ps I went to that Haven park when I was 17, (21 years ago) great fun!

kid · 08/05/2012 16:14

I have finally stopped aching from the gym on Thursday, I didn't think I'd be able to go this week at the rate it was taking me to recover.

I phoned Drs earlier for an appt. They will usually give me an appt for 2 or 3 weeks time so I was a little surprised to hear that they can see me tonight!

The physio that I booked several months ago is almost here, infact its tomorrow night and I realised today that I can't go. I really didn't want to go anyway so I'll just have to give it a miss. Not sure there is any point in phoning them now as its such short notice. The appt was just to assess whether I was suitable for physio.

Food for today:

B- 2 weetabix (HEb). milk (HEa) Tea
L- 4x ryvitas (HEb), cheese triangles (HEa)
muller light, apple, satsuma
D- leek, pea, pasta and philidelhpia (1.5 syns)
Melon, grapes
syn free rice pudding (if I can be bothered to make it)

Face, like others have said, if you really want the job then you should go for it. You could do temping if need be and you'd be doing what you want to do.

Bee, yuk about first proper wash. I thought my kids were bad!
Hope the car turns out to be a ok, you don't want another wasted journey.

More decorating for me tonight I think, I'll be so pleased when its done. Its dragging on for so long but I guess if I had 2 or 3 days solid to do it, it would have been finished by now. But as I have to keep starting and stopping to eat, go to work, sort kids/house, its taking longer than I'd like it take.

grinningbee · 08/05/2012 17:00

Blimey Kid that must have been a serious workout last week if it's only just stopped hurting!

Good luck getting the decorating finished. Whatever will you do with yourself once it's done? And how is that pain that the appointment was for - are you really sure you don't want to go?

Dd is still lolling on the sofa feeling a bit sorry for herself. I'm thinking I'll have to keep her here tomorrow rather than send her to playgroup. Don't want the others getting a bug. Poor sausage.

OP posts:
kid · 08/05/2012 17:12

The pain in my knee hasn't been as bad as it was. I find that when I don't go gym, the pain is very strong but with regular gym attendance, I only notice it once or twice a week at the most. Before, it was several times a day.

The gym workout was very intense. We had to do a variation of exercises and I had to stop several times. He did warn us it was going to be more intense so I should have known I'd suffer!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 08/05/2012 18:54

evening all!

Bee hope your dd feels better soon that this car works out for you.

Face i would love to be slinging my size 16s, but im just not quite a 14 yet (not all over anyway!).

Kid hope you get some progress on your knee at the docs.

Chocolate your like me, good at giving out the fitness advice but not so good at the theory!

Todays food is/was;

B - ff yog and chopped strawbs
L - roasted med veg cous cous with feta HA
D - Sapg bol with sprinkle of cheese HA and HB for pasta

Snacks - satsuma, bag of velvet crunch rice cake things 4 syns and think i will have a sk fibre plus as a second HB later after my bath.

Im off running tomorrow at 6am with a girl from work and all i will say is thank god its early as she is slim and gorgeous and i will look like a bag of shit next to her! But on the plus side no one will be looking at me and all the wobbly bits.

FaceCrack · 08/05/2012 21:04

Good luck with the run tomorrow madeinscotland, I'm impressed and jealous. Wish my chest would improve.

Have a fab holiday bee, you totally deserve it. Hope the rain goes.

kid you moaned about the wait for physio etc and now you have an appointment, you aren't going to go. No wonder there is a long wait. You should call and maybe they can squeeze someone else in rather than wasting the appointment. Also, your GP might refuse to refer you again. Well done on the hard core gym session. Is your buddy still letting you down?

kid · 08/05/2012 21:07

I didn't bother mentioning my knee to the dr, I just went for a blood pressure check and a repeat prescription. While I was there and seeing as it was a different dr to the one who didn't look at my knee, I decided to mention my thumb which has been hurting. God I feel like I'm falling apart!

Anyway, she had a look and a wiggle and said the tendons are swollen, can't remember what she called it. I have to take ibuprofen 3 times a day for a week, apply ice to it. I could strap it but its not so easy to do that to a thumb as there is nothing to strap it to. I'll speak to the pharamcist tomorrow and see if they do anything. Its been hurting for a few weeks which is not unusual she said. If it doesn't heal itself soon, they can splint it and do steroid injections which I'd never agree to!

kid · 08/05/2012 21:18

Face I have tried to call them twice but haven't been able to get through. They open at 9 and I am already at work by then. I have so many things to do after school that I tend to forget until its too late. I tried calling them while on my break at work today but was on hold for 7 minutes (from my mobile) so gave up in the end as the children were coming back in from break.

I have to be there by 4:30, DS finishes school at 4:30 and its a 15 minute drive away. DH was supposed to have the day off work but now has to work.
I don't feel the dr took my visit seriously so I don't think the physio will be interested either.

I just had another look at the letter and have seen that I have to arrive 15 minutes before appt. I have also noticed that I can email them, wish I had seen that earlier. I'll email them now and see if they can postpone the appt. I don't usually just fail to turn up Blush

Just reliased its DoD tomorrow, already? It comes round so fast.

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/05/2012 21:27

Helloooooo! Life too busy at the moment, organising stuff ready for my return to work next week. Haven't even had time to go to the gym for over a week, and not sure I'll make it this week either, though would like to try for at least 1 session, as I won't get the chance once work starts.
I have had a partial wardrobe clearout, as I couldn't fit my work clothes (some new, some old that I haven't fit into for ages) in it! Has anyone sold any BIG clothes on ebay before? No takers for some size 24, 26 and 28 stuff that I had on last week. Watchers on some of it, but no bidders. Managed to sell size 20 maternity jeans and that was it! I only put a few bits on as it's so time consuming, but if they aren't going to sell then I'll charity shop them instead.

Bee - could you try having more superfree - your diaries sometimes look a bit light on that? I figured that if you were losing well anyway then it wasn't a problem, but if you now aren't, then it might help.

Kid - could you not rearrange whatever else you are doing rather than miss your physio? If not then def phone first thing and let them know that you can't come. As Face says, someone else might really need that appointment.

Face - as long as the job opp doesn't leave you up shit creek without a paddle income wise then def go for it. ( I add the caveat because of a friend's recent experience).

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/05/2012 21:29

x post kid so ignore me re physio. Hurrah for email option!
