CantSleepWontSleep · 12/05/2012 23:33

Mega blow out for me today. Was at a party which served cakes and crisps only, and then the remaining party guests got chinese takeaway this evening. I indulged fully.
Got the dc to bed between 10:45 and 11:05pm, so it will be fun getting them up in time to go out at 8:15 for swimming lessons Hmm.

LakeFlyPie · 13/05/2012 00:31

Evening Smile

Hoorah for new washing machine bee, hope you have a good day tomorrow.

FHF lucky you having a fully signed up SW chef DH

choc reckon it's good work to have managed to save an Easter creme egg until now.

huff hope your back's better

Very promising day today which turned into an OK-ish day when agreed to do some baking at DS1's request (am sure he only asks so he can lick the beaters!)
Did half a Victoria sandwich (? an open Victoria sandwich?) so there wouldn't be too much cake around to tempt me but still didn't manage to completely abstain Blush At least I didn't have cream or jam on it.

Green day (although planned sausage dinner thinking I could have them as a HEb and just realised I've got to syn them):
BF: Berries, passion fruit + FF yog
L: Activia (1 syn), melon, berries, pear
D: Sausage (8 syns Shock), lentils, kale, melon, Muller
S: Melon, grapes, cake (5.5 syns)
Milk in coffee (HEa)

Chocolategirl3 · 13/05/2012 09:38

Lake you would have to be a complete and utter saint and also not human if you didn't eat the cake you baked.

I would have had my tongue wrapped round the beaters and in the bowl so well done! Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/05/2012 12:01

Morning!

Have just been helping out at the first holy communion at school, faced with fruity scones, jam, cream and plates of biscuits I didn't do too badly!! Ate half a biscuit and brought a doggy bag home to dh - who seems able to drink beer, eat rubbish and always be within target range. Hmm

Just had breakfast of bacon, poached eggs, tomatoes, beans and heB of wholemeal hobbit bread.
Dunno what's for dinner later.... And we're for the cinema after 2.

kid · 13/05/2012 12:23

Food diary for the week done and on my way home from shopping with a boot full of healthy goodies.

I've got some more fruit clubs and have told dh 20 times they are all mine!

kid · 13/05/2012 13:04

I've had to adjust my food diary already as it became clear as I unpacked the shopping that there was no way all the food was going to fit in the freezer!
So, the chicken drumsticks we were having on Thursday are now on the menu for Monday.
I just hope I can be organised enough to stick with it. I must make lunches the night before if I am to suceed.

Hope everyone is enjoying some glorious sunshine. It makes a nice to change to see a blue sky. I hear its back to the usual rain tomorrow so enjoy it while you can I say.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/05/2012 18:57

No sunshine here, it's wet and blowy!!

Went to cinema to see avengers in 3d was fab!!

Then we ate out - unsure of syns as it was a carvary so hopefully not too many! Had fresh melon and pineapple for dessert, so saved some syns there! (means I can have a glass of white now, right?)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 13/05/2012 18:59

Sorry meant to say kid I usually only follow a loose diary, ie: I know what's in the fridge and what we're having with it, but not sure of what night. :)

kid · 13/05/2012 19:46

I find that if I don't know what I'm cooking for the week, I never know if we have everything I need for it. As it happens, I have everything for the whole week as I managed to get all that we needed at shopping. I need to know in advance so I can get the meat out of the freezer as if I don't, it tends to make the diet go out of the window.

I saw Avengers yesterday too, but not in 3D. I thought it was good, DS loved it.

I'm just making some lemon drizzle cupcakes. They are 2.5 syns but they aren't ready yet so I can't give my verdict. They seem quite heavy for sponge cupcakes but I'll see how they taste once I've put the lemon drizzle on. Need to let them cool down completely first.

Chocolategirl3 · 13/05/2012 22:08

ooo please post the receipe Kid I love lemon drizzle cakes x

kid · 13/05/2012 22:18

They are so nice Smile A little on the small side but hits the sweet craving.
Let me go and grab the recipe so you can try them out for yourself.

kid · 13/05/2012 22:26

Lemon Drizzle Fairy cakes

Makes 16 cakes (apparently)
Suitable for freezing and vegetarians
Ready in about 40 minutes

1 lemon
2 eggs
2oz/57g low-fat spread suitable for baking (such as anchor light spreadable)
6 tbsp artificial sweetener
3 1/2 oz/100g self raising flour
2-3 drops vanilla essence

for the drizzle
8 level tsp icing sugar
a few drops of lemon juice
a couple of drops of yellow food colouring
silver balls to decorate (optional)
1tsp icing sugar to dust

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees/gas mark 4.
Finally grate the zest of lemon then squeeze the juice and reserve for the drizzle.
  1. whisk together the eggs, low-fat spread and artificial sweetener.
  1. sieve in the flour and fold into the mixture with the lemon zest and vanilla essence. Carefully sppon into the paper cases and bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.
Remove, place on a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
  1. To make the lemon drizzle, mix together the icing sugar in a small bowl with the lemon juice and food colouring to make a spoonable mixture. Carefully drizzle over the tops of the fairy cakes.
Decorate with silver balls if desired (add 1 syn per level tsp) and dust over with the icing sugar.

Syns per serving: 2.5 syns on Original and Green days.

LakeFlyPie · 13/05/2012 22:39

Cakes sound lovely but think I need to lay off the cake for the next few days Blush.
Went to friend's DS's 1st birthday party today and whilst being restrained at the party tea didn't say no to the delicious birthday cake.

Otherwise food today was OK (another green day):
BF: Berries, passion fruit + FF yog
L: Scrambled egg, baked beans + hobbit toast (HEb)
D: Pea risotto (parmesan HEa), Muller and stewed rhubarb (2 syns)
S: Birthday cake (6 syns), grapes
Milk in coffee (HEa)
Not much superfree I realise reading that back, need to have a couple of veg / salad biased days if I'm to see results on DOD this week.

Need to dig out the dress I'm hoping to wear to friend's wedding in a couple of weeks and see if it's going to be a go-er.
Actually saw a picture on someone's FB page this evening of me wearing said dress at another wedding 3 years ago, I do find it very weird how many photos there are of me (and DC) on FB considering I have never posted a single one!

kid · 13/05/2012 22:41

I intended to make tomorrows lunch, but I got distracted with work and still haven't made it.
I haven't taken DS's uniform out of the washing machine either or ironed anyones uniform for tomorrow either.

Guess its time to turn the laptop off and get a move on if I'm to get to bed at a decent time tonight.

grinningbee · 14/05/2012 07:39

Morning all!

Kid Those cakes sound really nice Smile

Hope you all had good weekends. We went for a mooch around Skeggy yesterday, but once again dd was a monster (does this happen when they're 3?) so I can't say I enjoyed it as much as I should have.

Anyway, at least I didn't eat anything bad.

Food yesterday was:

Weetabix and a banana
Banana
Meat free meat balls (1.5 syns) with passata, onion and garlic and wholemeal spaghetti, 2 x alpen lights for afters

The meat free meatballs are from Asda, and as meat free stuff goes they're not bad. Next time I'll bung some spices on the while cooking and they should be fine.

Today will be:

Ready brek, 1 x ryvita with 1 tsp jam (0.5 syn), banana
Savoury rice with cherry tomatoes and cucumber, apple and a yogurt
Stir fry with loads of veggies, soy sauce and garlic, noodles, quorn pieces, 1 syn for sweet chilli sauce
2 x alpen lights

Right. Better go and wake the dc or someone won't be up in time for playgroup today... wish me luck!

mmmmmmmmmm those cakes sound yummy, will have a go later in the week x

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 14/05/2012 10:18

kid im going to make these cakes on sat as a wee treat i think, i love lemon drizzle.

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend, i was a lazy mare and lay about like a lord yesterday while dh cooked sunday lunch and done the dishes!

food today and prob tomorrow untill lunch (will have todays dinner as tomorrows lunch) time will look like this;

B - wheat a bix, banana and honey HA and HB 1 syn for honey
L - baked potato and beans
D - roasted veg cous cous and feta cheese HA

Snacks will be fruit, ff yog and a kelloggs fiber plus bar.

I have been soooo out of the exercise loop the past couple of weeks with only a couple of runs in there and feel very sluggish, going to shred i think and do some weights as way to windy to run today.

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 14/05/2012 11:48

omg just done level 2 of shred and i feel like im going to die! Its way harder than level 2.

grinningbee · 14/05/2012 12:49

Hee hee hee - is the pain subsiding yet Girders?

Ok, I know it's Monday and everyone is busy, but where did everyone go? We're missing loads of people now Sad

Even if you're just lurking, please pop on and say howdy so we know you're still there. I need motivation!

Looks like I'm on for a gain or sts this week. Lordy knows why .

OP posts:
MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 14/05/2012 13:33

Recovered now bee thanks, will take a few goes to master all the moves.

I weighed in on sat and sts so I'm def 100% on it this week, the scales will go below the 13lb mark. Eating lots of superfree!

brafullofcrumbs · 14/05/2012 13:54

I'm here lurking too. Really crossing everything for a big loss this week, have gone right back to weighing hes and counting everything so if this doesn't pay off I'm going to be grumpy tomorrow!

Chocolategirl3 · 14/05/2012 17:28

Hoping for another loss this week, I feel slimmer iykwim, but as it was star week last week chances are i'll either gain or maintain, roll on Wednesday!

Bra I will understand if you are grumpy, look back on last thread for my tantrum! BUT and its only a little but, if you do maintain or gain, stay on it, be perfect and you will lose Smile

brafullofcrumbs · 14/05/2012 18:18

I have "stayed on it" all this week so am really hoping for a loss. 1.5lb would get me my next sticker, but I'm hoping for more like 2.5-3. 3.5 would mean I'm within 1/2 stone of target but I think that's too optimistic for this week

Chocolategirl3 · 14/05/2012 19:50

Cant see why you wouldn't lose then, fingers crossed for at least a 1.5lb loss Smile

I am 3lbs off my Club 10 target as long as I reach it before the Whit holiday I will be happy x
