Yes, it is cushion plumping time again Grin

Pull up your favourite chair (I'm bagging the one in the corner thanks Grin) stick your feet up and join in with the nattering.

Plenty of room for everyone Grin

Evening Smile

Seems very quiet around here ATM, is everyone still there?

kid Envy of your siesta and also your takeaway, I slaved over a hot stove (actually that's a bit of an exaggeration, I made a chilli Grin) to make a family meal as FIL was visiting and he just left without thanking me Shock, maybe he didn't like it.

bee I was amazed that the speed curry didn't have more of an effect but it really didn't seem to cause any challenge to my cast iron constitution, even DP who can be a bit prone to a little wind farting like a trooper didn't seem to fare too badly. Maybe give it a couple of days given your current situation.

Managed a good day until dinner pudding time when it went a bit awry:

BF: Muesli, FF yog, blackberries
L: Courgette soup
D: Chilli, rice, cucumber raita (made with FF yog), tsp mango chutney (2 syns)
Apple strudel and custard (14 syns) red wine (5 syns)
S: Grapes, cottage cheese + pineapple

Need to plan tomorrow's food properly if I'm to be on target for another loss this week, would love to get a swim in too but don't think it'll be possible as DP is busy laying a patio and my snotty DC have infected my poor Mum, so need to be either leaving her in peace and quiet or pampering her rather than asking for babysitting.

kid · 04/05/2012 23:02

I really needed the nap Lake, I've had a couple of rough days at work this week and by the time I got home, I could barely keep my eyes open. I did do all the washing up and cleaned the kitchen first though so not a complete lazy bones.

Dinner was so nice, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't even have any other snacks after, well it was a bit pointless seeing as we didn't eat until nearly 8pm.

Not sure what we're doing over the bank holiday weekend. I was trying to talk DH into swimming with the kids but he isn't keen. Probably because I'll go for a relaxing swim and leave him to look after them. They can both swim so don't really need much looking after.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/05/2012 23:34

Quick food diary before I crash out for the night. Green day.
B. eggs and toast
L. Baked spud, baked beans, cheese (hea). Strawberries.
D. Butternut squash risotto, broccoli, asparagus. Watermelon. 2 ikea meatballs (did for kids) - 4 syns??
Snacks hi fi light (balance of hebs after toast for brekkie), graze box bread stick and dip thing - 5 syns

Night all!

grinningbee · 05/05/2012 09:47

Morning everyone,

Here's the food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Not sure yet - might be travelling to look at a car
Sweet chilli chicken (0.5 syn) and roasted veggies

If I end up eating nothing at lunch, then I'll have 2 alpen lights tonight for a snack. Yum yum Smile

FairhairedandFrustrated · 05/05/2012 11:27

Today might be a challenge for me... Out with my beautiful big sister and her lovely lot today, have picnic in car (for selfish reasons, kids ways want to eat out). Grin

Have packed salad and fruit...

kid · 05/05/2012 16:47

I've blown today so I'll take it as flexi syns and keep them to a minimum for the rest of the week.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 05/05/2012 20:18

How do you think you've blown it?

Flexible syns are usually when you've allowed yourself so many, a set amount.

But, one bad day will not ruin your week :) That's what I totally love about slimming world!! At the beginning I had a take away every weekend and had lovely losses, I continued it all the way through and just found the closer to target I got, the fewer syns I could get away with.

As they say over here, kepp 'er lit Kid and it'll be grand :)

Today was ok (so far)!! Had the salad and fruit salad and chicken I took with me for the picnic, sis had baps and wraps with her but I avoided them great!

Dinner was a chinese take-away, beef & green pepper with black bean sauce and boiled rice. 5.5syns I think, though I didn't have the whole portion.
So have used syns for that, and will have fruit & yog later or else my two hifi lights as a heB.

I bought more pink & whites today so might have two of them (2.5syns each)

kid · 05/05/2012 21:02

I know I blew it today as I had weetabix for breakfast (HEb), no problemo.
We went shopping and up in KFC on our way home. We were an hour or so away from home and it was nearly 3pm so we decided DC needed feeding and me too. So, I had a fillet tower meal.

I've since eaten more than I care to admit tonight too.
But, like you say, one bad day won't ruin the week so I do think I'll be okay still. I don't feel like I've totally blown the diet, but I do feel I need to make an extra effort for the rest of the week.

I had shopping delivered tonight so the fridge is full of healthy food again which helps. I've got people coming for dinner tomorrow. I've got a beef joint out of the freezer so I'll be making that tomorrow. I'll have omelette for bf so no HEb used and I'll have jacket potato instead of roast potatoes with the beef.
Plus lots of veg too of course.

Well done on your picnic food. It can be hard when others around you are munching on things you want.

I've got so much to do this weekend yet not enough time. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will my decorating be done for next weekend. Not to worry, it will all work out well in the end.

LakeFlyPie · 05/05/2012 23:30

Hi all Smile

Well done on such control on your day out FHF. Keep meaning to ask, what are 'pink and whites'?

Tomorrow's another day for decorating Kid

Don't think I've done too badly today and it was a rare red one (planned to accomodate indian takeaway meat feast Grin

BF: Cinnamon porridge + banana, 1 hobbit toast + marmalade (1 syn)
L: Courgette soup
D: Mixed (meat) tikka and some chicken shashlick (loads of onion + peppers) + salad.
Made some of the syn free custard tarts and not that keen (sorry kid), wonder if I did them right as they are a bit chewy and cheesy all at the same time and not a hint of custard-ness really, just a faint after taste of Splenda Hmm
S: Apple, grapes, slice of malt loaf (don't know about the syns but can't be enough to take me over daily limit surely)

Managed to get a 30 min DC free swim in (and 15 mins in steam room which was lovely)

kid · 05/05/2012 23:34

I've not perfected the custard tarts yet, mine are a bit eggy. The bottom part of them are just like the real custard tart texture (a bit jelly like) but then its more of an omelette at the top. I didn't want to whisk them too much incase that made them worse but apparently, you're meant to whisk them well.

I bought some cake decorating bits today and wanted to test them out. So, I made some unfriendly sw fruit ones with pink buttercream icing. I don't actually like buttercream so not too much temptation for me. They look lovely though.

Best get to bed now so I don't spend the whole morning in bed. Got in-laws coming for dinner so had better make the house look lovely and tidy for their arrival (and pretend our house always look spotless all the time!)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 06/05/2012 00:09

Lakeflypie, pink and whites are mallows with wafers on them to make a mallow sandwich. They're quite big and I peel the wafers off and eat the mallows, all verrryyy slowly haha, they last a good bit longer than biscuits which are way higher in syns and last no length of time.

Not sure what tomorrow's plans are - def start with a cooked breakfast, maybe a walk or something (maybe cinema if wet), have two lovely steaks in fridge so perhaps steak & sw chips/salad for dinner tomorrow.

Huffpot · 06/05/2012 11:19

Hi all.
Have been very absent due to my parents arriving. Was lovely to see them again and of course the DC have them wrapped around their little fingers
Got a bit of a shock with my dad though as he can't walk very well (he had a bad accident last year when a sheep attacked him and smashed his knee apart)so all the plans I had of things to do with them kinda fell apart

Didn't weigh in last Wednesday but it was quite an impressive list!

I havent been all that good this week but I'm fine with that and know I'll get back on track

Just over a week now till my surgery so very excited and nervous about the pain afterwards!

Parents have gone to Liverpool then to Ireland after that and come back to look after DC when I have the surgery

Am quite curious to see whether having the cyst out will have effect on my weight loss too

grinningbee · 06/05/2012 19:18

Hello everyone!

Huff Glad the visit went well, and yes, I shall be watching your progress after surgery too. Bet you can't wait for it to be done now.

Kid One day won't hurt not with how good you are the rest of the time.

FHF Hope the picnic was lovely! We certainly had nice weather today.

Lake I am Envy of any sort of dc free time! How lovely Smile

Here's the old food list for the day:

Breakfast was a banana (bad me)
Lunch 4 x ryvita with 4 tsp jam (2 syns), mullerlight with choc sprinkles
Tea will be left over sweet chilli chicken (0.5 syn) with lots of roasted veggies, 2 slices of hobbit bread

I have to admit to eating a fun size milky way today (from the dc's easter eggs Blush). That was another 3.5 syns, so still only 6 for the day.

Oh, and speaking of Muller Lights - the ones with the dark choc sprinkled on are currently £3.59 in Sainsbos for the 6 pack, or two 6 packs for £4! Bargain. I love the one with the cherry layer best, and it's still not bad at 1.5 syns a pot. At least the other two flavours in it are free.

I may have another treat later, but no more than another 6 syns. I might have to get some pink and whites now I know they're so low in syns. Trouble is the rest of the household would eat them before me!

OP posts:
FairhairedandFrustrated · 06/05/2012 23:30

Mmmm I love Milkyways!

Today was a good day I reckon.

We ended up not going anywhere, the kids wanted to relax at home, so they just played outside whilst I sorted out & put away some washing!

B: Bacon, beans, scrambled egg, tomato & mushrooms (followed by grapes)
mid morning snack: chopped fruit & ff yog.
L: didn't really have lunch as brunch was so late.
Dinner: Steak, sw chips & a lovely big salad with leaves, mixed peppers & red onion. Followed by more mixed fruit salad.

Syns: a few dorito type crisps the kids shared while watching a dvd, a pink & white and a tablespoon of pepper sauce on my steak :)

Feeling kind of happy, dh opened a box of Lindt balls, I totally love them, but they've been open all day & I've not had any!

HEA: Skimmed milk
HEB: didn't have one today... Hmm and I'm in bed now so not going searching for one....

kid · 06/05/2012 23:45

Oh no, I have a new hobby brewing. I am going to try my piping bag out on cupcakes. I just hope I can resist eating them!
I'll have to send them home with my dad so they can all eat them while I continue to make and practice decorating them.

Maybe I need a different hobby that doesn't involve cakes? But they look so cool and so many people are into cake making I'd like to give it a go too.

SW didn't go too badly today. I could have had wine but didn't and I could have had crisps but also chose not to. Instead, I chopped up 4 pieces of fruit and stuffed my face with that. Funny how my kids want fruit when I've chopped some up but wouldn't dream of taking some out of the fruit bowl.

LakeFlyPie · 07/05/2012 00:08

Sounds like a day of good choices and control, good work folks Smile

Think I might have managed to just about stay on plan although it didn't feel as controlled as it could have done.

Need some firm planning and a large bowl of fruit salad available to munch on I think.

Food today was (green):
BF: FF yog, berries, 1 hobbit toast + marmalade (2 syns)
L: Scrambled egg, grilled tomatoes, bacon (HEb), beans, 1 hobbit toast (HEb), black pudding Blush I did pick the fatty looking bits out, but still 4 syns
D: Courgette soup, egg fried rice with peas, stewed rhubarb + FF yog (4 syns)
S: Pear, couple of new potatoes and some sugar snap peas at DC teatime

HEa was milk in coffees

Think I'll roast a chicken tomorrow and do some planning around that.
Am being very lazy ATM and defaulting to jacket potato green days at the drop of a hat, need to work on my superfree input I think.

TMI alert: after surviving the potential 'repercussions' of the speed curry and brown rice menu choice, I appear to have 'had a reaction' to the custard tarts, possibly the combination of eggs and the artificial sweetener (which I should have learned by now to avoid and just syn the sugar instead). God I'm it's awful, but on the bright side it might persuade DS2 that co sleeping isn't all it's cracked up to be, reckon he'll be begging for his own room by the morning and he can't even speak yet Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/05/2012 00:29

Great choices kid!! I have a friend who bakes a lot and gives away a lot Grin

Lake, sorry but am lol @ your windy problems......

Am going grocery shopping in morning... Hope there's plenty of fresh fruit & not half rotten like the last time!!

Have the day off which is great, dh doesn't, which isn't so great!

MadeInScotlandFromGirders · 07/05/2012 07:17

Morning all, everyone seems to be have had a successfull weekend.

Just been for a run and i must say it was torture peeling myself out of bed at 5.45am but feel better for it now.

Had a binge night with some friends and our kids which involved lots of yummy food and San Miguel (not for the kids i hasten to add!), yesterday was not much better!

Im not going to divulge this weeks loss as im going to join your dod on wednesday if thats ok?

Food today is;

B - FF yog, banana and satsuma
L - Hobbit bread ham salad sandwich and fruit
D - Maybe pasta and sauce, not sure as going to go shopping and see what i fancy (its to eat at work).

Hope you all enjoy the bank holiday monday.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/05/2012 15:49

Hiya MIS :) Hope you're having a good day.

I had a nice lie in! Up at 10.30am planning on going food shopping, could NOT find my car keys anywhere!! Had to hoke round the whole house before I found a spare key! And even then I had no back door key, had to use a french doors and go all round the house with bags of groceries lol

Anyway, food so far today has been good:

B; grapefruit & ff yog
L: 2 hobbit bread with lighter than light mayo (1 syn), tomatoes, lettuce and ham followed by a bunch of grapes, a pink lady apple and a kiwi.
Snack: mullerlight and a handful of blueberries.

Dinner will be speed curry with rice & sw chips :)

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/05/2012 23:00

Oh dear, did I kill this thread? :( I hope not.

LakeFlyPie · 07/05/2012 23:03

Evening Smile

Hope you found your keys FHF

I take my hat off to you girders, up at 0545 for a run Shock

Another OK day here foodwise although do feel I need to step it up a gear, not feeling much leaner although maybe I'm being impatient.

Food today was:
BF: FF yog, strawberries + passion fruit
L: Prawn and avocado (I know, couldn't resist) salad (5 syns)
D: Roast chicken, JP and ratatouille, rhubarb + sk milk custard (8 syns)
S: Pear, Muller yog
Not sure if that qualifies for EE day, if not suppose it could be a red one with JP as HEb (I think)

Managed to get another swim (and steam) in this evening as we ate with DC Smile

Am going to write down some daily meal plans before bed now to try and make this week a bit tighter.
Am out for dinner on thursday, have checked the restaurants website for menu options and it's apparent that the chef isn't a SWer. Not sure even flexible syns will save me but damage limitation for the rest of the week is my plan.

LakeFlyPie · 07/05/2012 23:05

FHF it'll take more than the threat of speed curry for dinner to kill this thread Grin

It is rather quiet around here recently isn't it?

kid · 07/05/2012 23:33

I've been about but keep getting distracted with those games on FB. All it takes is someone to send me the message 'can you beat X at Y' and I'm all for the challenge Grin

I made some pretty cool cakes tonight, trouble is they are totally full of sugar, butter and chocolate. I am pretty sure my kids will be happy to eat all of them so I only need to resist for a day or two. I wish I enjoyed cooking dinner as much as I like baking cakes.

I am finding that the longer I do SW for, the less I crave junk food. I'd still happily stuff my face with all sorts of syn packed food, but even though I decided to relax a bit with SW this weekend as I was too busy to meal plan and to spend loads of time cooking, I've just gone with it.

Today, I had
B- small bowl of shreddies, milk, tea
L- 50/50 bread with chicken and cucumber
D- Pasta, tuna, onions, cucumber, tomatoes and mayo

2 homemade banana cupcakes
I have also had a couple of glasses of water and no fizzy drinks.

I can't believe that I can only eat that on a day that I have decided to not worry about sticking to SW. I know its not perfect but it can't really have done much damage. I should have had some fruit, I doubt the bananas in the cake count do they? lol

I also managed to paint all of the woodwork and now just have the doors to paint. Its all coming together nicely. Our next big job will be to get the flooring up and emptying my bedroom which I'm trying not to think about too much as there is a lot of furniture to move.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 07/05/2012 23:45

I've spent most of the day titting about online, so tomorrow will be a heavy workload. Am exhausted....doing nothing!! Grin

Food for today was good, speed curry for dinner with rice and sw chips. Dessert was fruit, whilst dh ha choc brownie and ice cream Shock

Syns were mayo, small glass wine and a pink and white wafer.

Will have sw curry and rice for lunch tomorrow

Kid your buns looked gorgeous!

kid · 07/05/2012 23:51

I'm so impressed with how they turned out. My next trick would be to produce a SW cupcake that looks and tastes as nice.

4 day week this week, hooray. I should have been in bed by now but I have to hang up washing (kids uniforms are in there somewhere), iron DH a shirt and I have to dry my hair.
Looks like I'll be up early to sort lunch and iron uniforms. Looks like an early night for me tomorrow seeing as that went out of the window tonight.

Tomorrow is a green day, thats as much as I know at the moment.
