Pull up your favourite chair (I'm bagging the one in the corner thanks Grin) stick your feet up and join in with the nattering.

Plenty of room for everyone Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 22/07/2012 11:04

Sweet mother of mercy, I shouldn't post on my iPod as its far too handy to grab, particularly when a tad on the intoxicated side!!

Funnily enough head is fine today - stomach def not! Am hoping for a bacon buttie and a mug of strong tea!

Best of it is, I have no idea what the hell I meant in the post below. Apart from cosmos!! Dh bought a cocktail shaker and was practising, I was a keen assistant! :)

Way too many syns and didn't get shred done, feel lazy about that, but today is a new day!

And shall be a sober one!

Enjoy the beach bee! Don't know what my day will involve!

grinningbee · 22/07/2012 20:12

Hello all. Back from the seaside, and rather crispy to boot! Didn't realise at the time, but boy have I caught the sun. My face is very sore, ha ha. Finger still numb at the end. If it doesn't right itself in a week I'll maybe mention it. Not sure what you could do anyway. Squash it again and hope the feeling comes back?

Slightly didn't go quite to plan with the food, but I feel in good company with all the syn quaffage that's been going on. not been bad to that extent (for a change) but bad considering I meant to be good. If you see what I mean.

Anyway, the dc had a fab time, icecream, rides, and a nice long walk along the seafront. Ds was walking, and saying hello and waving to everyone sat on the benches. To their credit, 99% of them said hello back. He was sooo excited Grin I do like that place, and it was nice to see it busy today.

Clodaghdragonfly · 22/07/2012 22:13

shameful and sunburnt here too.

car boot sale this morning (in a jumper), then to the seaside for lifeboat day without changing. ended up taking off jumper and walking round in vest top as v hot. also v sunny. oops. shared chips with DS3 and had half a donut, but walked home along the beach.

more walking tomorrow though, and will make proper food choices.

arf at fhf post from last night!

OUCH for finger bee.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 23/07/2012 00:04

Oh for one that is meant to be a role model for members, I am totally shameful :(

Food today has been pure shite!! As have the amount of hobnobs consumed with nutella tomorrow is a new day, a new start, though my work clothes will most likely be tight on me tomorrow....

I'd need to wise up! Holidays is less than 2wks away and I've been fucking about for weeks - what's stopping me???

Chocolatemakesmefat · 23/07/2012 06:42

Off to France now ladies so see you in a couple of weeks, its safe to safe diet on back burner for now x

grinningbee · 23/07/2012 09:21

Morning all!

Chocolate Have a fab time in France. Hope you enjoy all the lovely food. Mmmmm cheese Grin

FHF Please don't feel bad. 8 weeks tomorrow I'll be laying out cold with my flab for all to see, being sliced and diced, and yet yesterday I STILL bloody well ate something I knew I shouldn't. I blame being at the seaside. If we found it easy to diet, none of us would be on this thread would we? We'd all be prancing around with our perfect bodies munching carrot and celery sticks hoiking our judgy pants up at anyone who dared enjoy a bit of chocolate, an icecream, or God forbid a Gregg's sausage roll.

I used to work on a mobile bank. Every Friday we had a cream cake (naughty, but nice). I was mid bite on a particularly scrumptious fresh cream apple turnover when a customer walked in. She looked at me and said "a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips".

I hope I'm never that mean spirited. The fact that that happened a minimum of 17 years ago and I can still remember it tells you that it got to me. I'd still rather be like me though, than cruel like that and skinny.

Anyway Blush

Food for the day:

4 x ryvita with 4 x tsp reduced sugar marmalade (2 syns), most of a banana
Omelette with cherry tomatoes, apple and a yogurt
Either quorn lasagne, or quorn chilli and rice (depends if I can be arsed to go to the shops for some quark and carrots)

Enjoy the sunshine everyone - I'm going to attempt to use a petrol lawnmower for the first time, and try and keep the dc from bolting out of the garden at the same time. Should be fun!

Clodaghdragonfly · 23/07/2012 10:32

morning all.

FHF, I think there are a few lines drawn and fresh start today .

I am dreading my holiday in 3 weeks because we are going on a combined family holiday again and my sister has lost loads. And I haven't. (not that she likes to draw attention to that every time we speak, oh no...) I really don't want to go (adding that to the "clash of personalities" between all the DC)

DH has gone off to his new job. I have told him if he comes home without a job I will kill him! I hope it works out. If we get into a proper routine of him working and having a regular income, I may find it easier to get into a SW routine, and we won't feel the need to eat crap as a treat if we have an unexpected few quid.Hmm

had a lovely breakfast, which I hope is free on EE - bacon and mushroom rice, kind of like a risotto I suppose. It is a recipe out of an '80s cookbook. I cut all the fat off the bacon and missed out the butter. I only made half the recipe and it should last for 3 breakfasts. I had a big chunk of pineapple afterwards to boost the superfree element.

chicken and couscous salad for lunch, and mum is doing us all cottage pie and veg for tea.

have a good day everyone - it's looking a bit like summer out there!

grinningbee · 23/07/2012 13:33

Clodagh Just ignore her if she starts (easier said than done I know). I hope dh still has a job later, for his sake! I'm sure everything will be fine. If not, I've been eyeing up a very nice cast iron frying pan which would be perfect for a bit of husband reconditioning Grin

My hands are covered in blisters now (I know, poor diddums). I've been out with a very heavy petrol lawnmower and cut our back garden. OMG! I can now fully appreciate just how big it is. It took the best part of 2 hours, including stopping for the dc every so often to fill a watering can for them to play and dispense icecream.

It is sooooo hot!

There's been a change to the menu today. We're going meaty instead at H's request - so lunch was some ham and salad and a couple of muller light yogurts. Dinner will be sausages (0.5 syn each) bacon and tomatoes with a couple of slices of hobbit bread.

I wonder how many calories I used up mowing the grass...

Cheers Bee just on the ferry on the hunt for a socket before my phone dies. Made the ferry this time so no dramas as compared to junes disaster!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 23/07/2012 18:17

Choc have a fab holiday!!!! 9 days til portugal!! Can't wait :)

What part of France are you for?

Well done bee on the gardening, my dh would have a fit if he found me with the lawn mower, that's totally 'his' domain not to mention the fact I'd probably break it Blush

Am finally home from work, dh is cooking curry for dinner and then I'm going to run a bath! Have to be in early in morning so will be having an early night tonight.

My period arrived yesterday and I'm as bloated as hell, not to mention piles ugh they're horrendous.

Face, boo on the night shifts, dh was working shifts last week, plays havoc with our sex whole lives!

Clodagh, we all have a sister like that, I could actually write a novel, but would be sued to hell and back, and god knows I've had enough of solicitors letter this week to last me a lifetime Grin
You just take pride in the fact that you work hard for your losses.

grinningbee · 23/07/2012 19:49

Yes, boo to the night shifts Face Sad

FHF If I waited for H to do anything, the grass would be like a jungle. Best to do it myself!

Speaking of which, he still isn't home yet. I want to call him a rude word. The dinner is on, and if he isn't home when it's ready, tough. I'll have kept to 4 syns for the day, so yay for that. I will even stick to it if someone rolls home smelling of pub.

OP posts:
SlimJimBra · 23/07/2012 20:44

Haha my garden is like a jungle at the moment , I'm hoping my dad will get the mower out for me when they next visit. I would do it myself but would need another adult here to watch ds and if another adult is here then they can mow the grass :o
Have been really busy and lazy at the same time this week. Been busy with ds so have been lazy with food! Also feeling the pinch financially this month as dh going away has incurred us more expense than usual so I'm trying to eek out what's in the cupboards to last til payday.

pixiestix · 23/07/2012 21:59

Very Envy of all these foreign hols. We are feeling the pinch too Jim so it will be sunbathing in the back garden with a glass of squash for me, rather than sitting by the pool somewhere with a cosmo!

In other news - I might actually be on for an alright loss this week! Grin

FairhairedandFrustrated · 23/07/2012 22:37

mmm I love cosmos :)

Could definitely be persuaded to have one or six when on holidays.. Grin

Hedgepig · 24/07/2012 07:06

I've never tried a Cosmo and since I'm never drinking again after 2 day hang over I have finally got over I will never know Grin

FaceCrack · 24/07/2012 08:33

Still at work zzzz

FaceCrack · 24/07/2012 08:33

Damn pressed send to soon.
Please can some one do the list tomorrow? Thanking you!

pixiestix · 24/07/2012 08:35
Grin

Mmmm, this weather is so lovely. Whats everyone up to today?

pixiestix · 24/07/2012 08:38

Ughh, Face Sad That sucks. You definitely need a cosmo. How is the knitting coming along?

Sorry, I can't do the list as my internet connection is so bad that quite often it packs up for days at a time with no warning at all. Angry Its only obsession dogged perserverance that lets me be a MNetter at all.

FaceCrack · 24/07/2012 10:47

Post nights hunger has hit. I've scoffed scrambled egg on toast, plus a brioche and jam. Blush
Well done pixie for being good. I do need to get my skates on with my knitting. How is yours coming along?
Anyway I'm off to bed. Night all!

Ps - next door have just started drilling. Angry

Clodaghdragonfly · 24/07/2012 12:35

helloooo. Am ill Sad

four mile walk yesterday. decluttering the garage today. the kids are sat on the front lawn trying to sell our crap to passers-by!

grinningbee · 24/07/2012 14:36

I'll do the list tomorrow Face. Hope you have a good sleep. I always found it weird sleeping in the day when I worked nights.

Not doing too bad here foodwise today.

4 x ryvita with 4 x tsp reduced sugar marmalade (2 syns), banana
Omelette with cherry tomatoes, yogurt
Quorn lasagne

2 x alpen lights for later

Not sure if anyone wanted it, but if you do, here's my lasagne recipe:

1 x 300g bag quorn
2 x tins tomatoes
1 x chicken oxo cube
1 pepper
Few carrots
Few stalks of celery
1 x onion
Squirt of tomato puree
1 tsp mixed herbs
2 cloves crushed garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp (or more) chilli flakes
1/4 pint boiling water
Lasagne sheets

For the top:
1 x tub quark
6 oz reduced fat cheddar grated

Chop the onion and crush the garlic and soften in a pan with frylight for a few minutes.

Bung in the chopped carrots, celery and pepper along with the herbs and spices, stock cube and the boiling water. Let the veggies cook for about 10 minutes.

Next, bung in the quorn, tomatoes and tomato puree and let it all cook together for about 10/15 minutes.

Layer it up in a dish with the lasagne sheets, and then spread the quark over the top, and finish off with the grated cheese.

Pop in the oven at 200c for 30 minutes.

It serves 4, and if you count the cheese as a HEA it is syn free on green and extra easy - otherwise count 6 syns per portion. Alternatively, you could leave the grated cheese off, or maybe use cottage cheese instead. You can also use whatever other veggies you like too.

I'm just making one now ready for later. Yum yum!
