So it's Friday. The start of the Dangerous Days, otherwise known as the weekend.

Can I remind everyone that there is to be no alcohol during bootcamp

1lb loss

Bleurrgh

FauxFox · 20/04/2012 12:27

Curried cauliflower soup....Mmmmmmm! Who knew? Grin

ilovemyteddy · 20/04/2012 12:29

Ohforfoxsake - my bra keeps coming undone because it is too loose Blush DH is a bit Hmm about me losing weight from my norkage!

As for being so over eggs - I know what you mean. Have you tried oopsie rolls - recipe on the recipe thread? They are eggs, but not as we know them!

There are some lovely muffin recipes in the IPD cookbook - not sure if they are on the recipe thread but will look and add them tonight (am at work atm.) They are basically an eggy batter poured over red onions and feta in a muffin tin, and are a good alternative to Just Eggs.

ilovemyteddy · 20/04/2012 12:31

FauxFox (there is an epidemic of foxes on this thread Grin) That soup is lovely, isn't it? Had some for dinner last night. It's so filling and DH likes it, which stops him moaning about "this faddy diet"!

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 12:33

hmm I'm not noticing my jeans feeling loser. However my bra straps keep slipping. So I am losing it from my shoulders. FFS

That just really made me laugh. Grin

I was in London for a meeting last week with some ballet shoes on, ran across the street in Westminster and promptly left both shoes behind. Hmm. I presume that 3 months low carbing has made me lose weight off my insteps. All my shoes are too big. Either that or dd (aka 'clown feet') has been borrowing my shoes, but that is unlikely as according to her all my shoes are 'shite'.

Thansk everyone for the kind messages. I am on low dose of steroids at the mo, just want to avoid the strong ones which give me permo-diahorrea (actually, that will be great for low carbing Grin) and the shakes. Plus I end up looking like Moon Face. I am being good though - I eat a lot of veg and nuts and don't go into ketosis as it wouldn't be good obviously.

noddyholder · 20/04/2012 12:46

keeporf have you ever been on any other immunosuppression like eg azathioprine?

FauxFox · 20/04/2012 12:48

Yes ilove I feel quite full up and i didn't expect to, think it's the spiciness that helps?

Well it looks like i'm going to a Spanish restaurant tomorrow night...i'm thinking picky olives then grilled garlicky big prawns in shells to start then steak with green salad - that will be OK surely?

I have also been googling to see how many carbs are in a bottle of red wine and have come up with answers ranging between 5 and 15 per bottle Confused does anyone have a proper answer??

noddyholder · 20/04/2012 12:51

I ate some sushi yesterday completely without thinking and am back to weds weight today Angry so am super strict today. Had boiled egg and black coffee and have just had some chicken slices with a tiny green salad and 3 olives. Glugging water by the gallon! Need a poo!!!!!(sorry) Am going out tonight to cote for dinner and am going to ask for steak and salad. Will have one glass of wine though as I think I won't be able to resist!

teaandthorazine · 20/04/2012 12:53

Hello all! Feel good today, though the weekend is looming. Dp and I are going away for a night of unbridled passion in a b&b (he'll fall asleep at 9.30, more likely Grin) so am a leetle bit concerned about food this weekend... Oh well, will do my very best (not sure about booze ban though!)

Had the mint choc protein shake for breakfast - pretty good actually! And has kept me full all morning - had it at 6.45am and am only just now considering lunch, so not bad. Am deffo in ketosis though as my mouth tastes gross. Only a litre of water so far as am out and about with work (ledkr I know where you're coming from, it's so hard when work involves being in the car the whole time)

Am hopelessly disorganised today so am going to see what I can scrounge from the clinic cafe. Dinner - who knows?!

teaandthorazine · 20/04/2012 13:15

Well, that'll teach me not to make my own lunch. Scored a cheese and tuna salad from the cafe, only to find it's tuna and sweetcorn Angry Hopefully a few kernels won't make too much difference. Quite a lot of tomato too and the dressing tastes sweet ... Could be a disaster!

Oh well, it beats succumbing to the mountain of fresh pastries they were unloading as I ordered. This time last month I would've had a baguette and a pastry and probably a bottle of fruit juice... now I know better!

Jacaqueen · 20/04/2012 13:15

I've just had roasted pork belly with garlic cauliflower mash and sauted leeks for lunch on a week day.

Who needs bread!

slowlyburningcalories · 20/04/2012 13:33

Breakfast - egg + bacon.
Coffee @ 11 avoided biscuits
Lunch - Green salad, mackerel (double wrapped in bag - learnt that lesson) and rather a lot some mathersons pork sausage as i was really hungry.
Dinner - Unsure, some sort of chicken and cauliflower with spices affair. DH is having curry and naan. And beer.

2 litres of water and just finishing another 1/2, 2 coffees, 1 tea.

FourThousandHoles · 20/04/2012 13:41

hello hello hello

Feeling a bit better today but still not quite right. Struggled to get to sleep last night too, but once I was asleep I slept really well and whilst I didn't exactly leap out of bed at sparrow fart o'clock, I did feel more awake than usual.

Protein shakes? I have some lurking in the back of a cupboard somewhere from another diet I was on and failed so will have that for workday breakfasts. Fab.

I felt so crappy last night that I was massively disorganised and failed to make myself any lunch to bring to work today. This morning I chopped up some celery and chucked a tub of philly in my bag... then stopped at the co-op on the way in and got some Gorgonzola for 75p from the reduced bit. Was v nice with my celery. But no wonder I feel sick.

I had a small piece of toast last night, piled up with peanut butter and it didn't help with the nausea at all so I must be fighting a bug. It was bloody lovely though and I'm sad that it didn't help so I can justify doing it again.

So
B - corned beef
L - celery & gorgonzola

GreenEyesAndHam My office is in a food factory too. Three times a day samples are brought up from the factory for a taste panel, everyone is supposed to taste them and comment on appearance/texture/taste etc. We make pasta salads, dips, pasta sauces, sandwiches. Tis hard to turn away.

Getorf - sorry you're feeling rough, hope it's just a blip

*Shirl" - you don't look a day over 38 my dear, happy birhtday.

Hope BIWI and Daisy have successful days.

Laterz peeps

MrsNouveauRichards · 20/04/2012 13:44

Bugger, just lost my post!

KeepOrf, hope it is just a blip and you feel better soon.

Happy Birthday Shirty!

My wee also smells funny and I have a funny taste in my mouth and not very hungry, reminds me of being on some horrid antibiotics - not pleasant. I imagine I need to drink more water.....

My friend thinks I have lost weight round my face and DH thinks my tummy is smaller. Tbh, I am amazed I've lost 3lbs as I don't think I look any smaller at all.

MrsNouveauRichards · 20/04/2012 13:49

Ok, maybe DH is right, just measured my waist and I have lost 2inches Shock

Hepsibaaah · 20/04/2012 13:49

Happy birthday Shirty!

Not doing well today, have THE worst carb cravings and have taken to sniffing DS hobnob bikkies...and have succumbed to some stevia sweetener to stop me cheating, may have a go at the mim as well.

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 13:51

Feeling great today - in ketosis and buzzing with energy. Did a pretty hardcore Bootcamp session in the park and it was great. I thought I'd suffer without the glycogen supplies but my body seems to be pretty good at burning fat for energy - who'd have thought it!

ShirtyKnot · 20/04/2012 14:08

Oh Betty, I'm finding exercise to be REALLY hard - I seem to have lost my endurance and THE PAIN! Shock

I'm going to keep pushing through - sorry body, you're just going to have to get used to it!

ledkr · 20/04/2012 14:11

I just feel bored with food, dont even crave sweets or anything just bored bored bored.I had ahorrible lunch of mackrel salad it was about my 5th this week, oopsie rolls make me feel sick im all out of ideas.
Am having a stir fry for dinner but i forgot to get those shitty noodles and i was in town too!
Im not bf no so no excuse. It was hard to be up at 6 wihout a ginger biscuit though haha.

getorf Sorry you are ill,you probably know but my ds is on the transplant waiting list so i have every sympathy.

My poor loss could be due to m,y scales but on a brighter note it has prompted me to admit i need to exercise so i have re joined the gym woop!

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 14:14

Shirty Wednesday was like for me - slightly spacey, energy was really low - so low I needed a nap. I went for a run yesterday but I took it easy, as I was worried my energy would crash half way though - but mostly I was fine. I would say keep at it - everyone's different and your body may just need longer to adjust.

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 14:17

Ledr have you had a look at the recipe thread? What kind of food do you normally eat?

ShirtyKnot · 20/04/2012 14:20

ledkr - you really must try and have something different every day. Can you make extra of your evening meals and take it to work for lunch (this is working well for me)?

Betty - I'm on a full week of LC today and I think I have finally used ALLLLLLLL my glycogen stores. My run last night was just - horrible. Just absolutely horrible - but then again I am doing the C25K and was on a huge leap run from 8 minutes to 20 continuous. It might be that as well.

MsRinky · 20/04/2012 14:22

TMI alert

I haven't touched those shiritaki noodles since the time they came through my system entirely undigested. Perhaps I had been guilty of slurping rather than chewing, but I never want to shit noodles again.

ledkr · 20/04/2012 14:26

Normally toast for brekkie and sarnie or pasta or potato for lunch and normal dinner, maybe a biscuit in the morning and fruit mid morning too.As you can see very carby.
Im ok with brekkie and dinner its the day i struggle.
I dont really feel very interested in food maybe that is ketosis. I havent cheated at all, only had milk in tea about 3 a day and not drunk enough water cos i cant keep peeing when working you see.

PostBellumBugsy · 20/04/2012 14:26

Need a boot up the bum emoticon for ledkr! Stop eating bloody mackerel salad if you don't like it. There are lots of really delicious things you can eat & it doesn't have to cost the earth. Tell us what stuff you like normally & I bet we can find low carb versions (please don't just put gingersnaps, cos that will be a struggle!).
