So it's Friday. The start of the Dangerous Days, otherwise known as the weekend.

Can I remind everyone that there is to be no alcohol during bootcamp

Morning,

Happy Birthday Shirty!

Forgot to weigh in yesterday. Weight today is 9.7.7 so I've lost 5lbs since Monday! Got a night out tonight so don't know how that is going to go as I'm really not up for drinking but, you know how it is...

PostBellumBugsy · 20/04/2012 09:46

Happy Birthday Shirley.

Ledkr, sorry to hear you haven't lost anything. Hope this doesn't sound rude but are you still breast feeding?

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 20/04/2012 09:48

Catsmamma

THIS IS BOOTCAMP. CAKE IS NOT ALLOWED. UNLESS IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY. IS IT YOUR BIRTHDAY? NO. THOUGHT NOT

Happy birthday Shirleeeeeeeeeee Thanks

I'm sure we can turn a blind eye to bad behaviour a little drink tonight.

And on a more serious note - unless you've reached your goal weight, having a 'day off' low carbing is not a good idea. All you will do is pile the weight back on.

This, in turn, will make you feel more despondent about the whole thing, and then you'll turn up here next week moaning about how it's not working for you until I have to gently point out to you that you have been drinking whisky and eating cake and stuffing your face with bread and pasta and rice and sweets and chococlate and oh alright then I'll have another drink because after all I had one yesterday so what the hell and it will be fine and OH BLOODY HELL I'VE PUT 5LBS BACK ON Angry

Happy birthday Shirley

Shapejaper - a 5lb loss when you're already only a tiny 9 and half stone is brilliant!! Need your secrets

I've done a pound of poo this morning so now 10.5, which means 2lb off since Sunday. I think we should all agree that there is no such thing as tmi now so lets just embrace the toilet/bodily fluids talk Shock

PostBellumBugsy · 20/04/2012 10:01

Agree with BIWI that taking a day off is not a good idea

I took a day off last weekend (first day off since January I should add), when it was my birthday and it has taken me all of this bloody week to get back to where I was before my birthday!!! Admittedly, I am a particularly slow loser, think my veins must be coursing with neat insulin, but still days off in the first few weeks of low carb and specially in boot camp are not a good idea.

Gincognito · 20/04/2012 10:04

Arf at a pound of poo.

Happy Birthday Sirty, and good luck to all those interviewing/presentating today.

I am starving again. Going to eat some eggs.

Gincognito · 20/04/2012 10:04

Sirty? Shirty, of course

Jacaqueen · 20/04/2012 10:14

Happy Birthday Shirty.

Sure have the cake Catsmamma but dont be moaning when the scales show you have put on 5lbs of water weight, your out of ketosis and feeling crap.

BIWI get on with your work and good luck.

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 20/04/2012 10:16

Work finished! Grin

Now I'm going to explore the furthest depths of my wardrobe to see what I can fit into.

I haven't been this weight for a very long time. It is a lovely feeling - even if I have got a way to go.

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 10:25

Happy Birthday Shirl 21 again is it? Grin

Good luck with your presentation BIWI. I must say MN is the worst invention in the world for generalised pissing about and prevarication when you have something you need to do. When working from home I sometimes have to go and switch the boradband off to remove temptation.

I am a pound down this morning. Still a load of old BOLLOCKS though because it is just losing the weight I put on with my evil carby ways the past few days.

I am feeling a bit better but still in pain at night, still not sleeping and this still on tramadol. Hospital appointment showed kidney function is starting to reduce again (fuck arse bugger etc) so have to go back again next week to see if I need to go back on monster steroids - they wanted to put me back on them this week but I begged not to. I am on a small dose at the moment so we will see how it goes. I HOPE it is just a minor blip on the road to recovery.

mummyduff · 20/04/2012 10:30

Have to say Waitrose just arrived with so much meat, veg, eggs etc my fridge looks so healthy Grin

I have also managed to fit in a pair of size 10 Boden skinny jeans, this is the least I have weighed in roughly 10 years Smile

ShirtyKnot · 20/04/2012 10:33

God, I'd love to be 21 again. . I had a surprise party and all of my family came from Wales and it was BRILLIANT.

GetOrf - That is SHIT for you - try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Why don't you want to go back on the steroids?> I know they're shit (spent many years on and off the fuckers for my asthma when younger) but if they help the pain and get the old kidneys going again isn'#t it worth it petal?

Thanks for all the happy birthdays everyone Thanks

PostBellumBugsy · 20/04/2012 10:36

GetOrf, sorry to hear about the kidneys playing up again. Hopefully the docs can adjust your meds, without having to jack you up to the monster dose again.

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 20/04/2012 10:47

Oh buggery bollocks, KeepOrf. So sorry.

Is there not a type of steroid that they can give you that doesn't have weight gain as a side-effect?

OP posts:
KeepOrfThemCarbs · 20/04/2012 10:57

Thanks shirl. Smile

Horrible side effects with the steroids - I am trying to hold off and see if it gets better on its own (it did dip down once before then come back up by the following week, so it may not be all doom and gloom).

GreenEyesAndHam · 20/04/2012 11:05

Happy Birthdee to Shirley

Fingers crossed things improve for GetOrf

Good luck vibes to all who need it today

Chin up to those struggling

Thanks

It's some other buggers birthday today in my office, and they have chosen the spare desk next to me to pile up with cakes, biscuits and buns. Thanks for that Hmm

Oh and did I mention my office is in a confectionary factory? Grin

ilovemyteddy · 20/04/2012 11:06

Happy Birthday Shirley Thanks

And a big unMnetty hug to you GetOrf and your poorly kidneys Sad

Well I have FINALLY lost some weight this week - only half a pound but still... Grin Congrats on the great weight-losses to you other low-carbers!

vnmum · 20/04/2012 11:33

happy birthday shirty

Still no loss for me this morning, getting pissed off, I am so close to the 9's and really wanted to break into them during bootcamp but for some reason it's not happening. I have cut back on cheese, didn't have any yesterday, drinking loads and i'm not having any yoghurt and only a tablespoon if that of cream in my morning scrambled eggs. I so want to say fuck it and eat cake but to be honest I don't fancy cake or chocolate or carbs for that matter. I'll take that as a good sign Smile

ohforfoxsake · 20/04/2012 11:38

Happy Birthday Shirty Smile

Sorry about your kidneys Geroff, that's shit Sad

Hope it goes well Lackadaisy Smile

Very nearly fell off the wagon, having walked 3 miles in 3 hail storms, thunder, lightning, pissing rain. Took all my willpower not to have buttery toast. Opted for buttery mushrooms and scrambled eggs. I am SO OVER EGGS. But, I'm in the 11's now so the hard bit is about to begin. I find it relatively easy to dip into the 11's, but with DH being away AND it being the weekend I'm going to be on here a fair bit I suspect. Still, onwards and upwards and all that. Smile

greygirl · 20/04/2012 11:39

happy birthday shirty! enjoy your cake for me (but i would have a toasted teacake if it were my birthday!)

i am 9st5 - so have lost 4 pounds. (I also have a little bit that is ahem waiting to leave my body, so i am probably really about 8st1) go me!

Keeporf - consider adding in some more fruit and veg to look after your kidneys, please, do look out for them.

i am fed up of chicken salad and omlette now though. might have some fish for tea....

actually i am thrilled it is coming off because everything fits better and i can't wait to buy a bikini (secret ambition for summer!)

ohforfoxsake · 20/04/2012 11:59

hmm I'm not noticing my jeans feeling loser. However my bra straps keep slipping. So I am losing it from my shoulders. FFS.
