slowlyburningcalories · 20/04/2012 14:30

mrsrinky I am so pleased I had eaten my lunch lol

< considering a name change>

ledkr · 20/04/2012 14:31

post I think id be enthused if i had lost some bloody weight, I just keep thinking im doing it all for nothing.

I have not lost any weight for the last year even though i have tried a few,its odd,i had my thyroid checked but all ok.
On sw and ww i could have been accused of small cheats but on this i have stuck to it rigidly.

Maybe the gym will help.

Creamtea1 · 20/04/2012 14:34

Checking in to confirm foot weight loss (foot loss?)
Just tried sandals in wardrobe from last summer which at that point had to undo straps and squeeze in, with blisters being created after 1 hour
Now can get on with straps still done up (lazy) and much more room to manoeuvre.
Lunch couldn't really be bothered do few prawns, bit of cheese and lettuce, coleslaw
Dinner is salmon/prawn/mackerel/salad and spinning class tonight
On litre 2 of water and 4 teas done

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 14:35

Shirty I think there must be a period where you have used up all your gycogen supplies and you body is starting to switch to fat burning mode - and maybe this process takes a wee while to get going in an fullon way in some people, causing a lack of energy for a prolonged period compared to others.

Sounds a like a good theory - and diet people are always making stuff up - thought I join in!

Seriously though hope the energy return soon - I advise lots of sleep, I'm certainly needing more atm.

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 14:37

Ledr - you take packed lunch? - what about soup?

ledkr · 20/04/2012 14:40

Yes i will try soup, trouble is i always fancy some crusty bread Grin

I dont think an oopsie roll would stand up to a dip in the bowl haha.

MNP · 20/04/2012 14:45

:( GerOff

Thanks Shirty

Scales said 1lb less this morning but after stopping my poop meds I have restarted as zip yesterday and then today...wow so hoping come Sunday a better loss.

GreenEyesAndHam · 20/04/2012 14:45

FourThousandHoles yy- every day this week I've had chocolates and sweets dumped on my desk for sensory sampling. I haven't once said 'not me I'm afraid, I'm low carbing' or similar. I've just offloaded them on to someone else. For some reason I feel shy Blush

ledkr if it's any consolation I feel a bit the same at the moment. I just don't fancy eating anything, opening the fridge makes me feel a bit sick. I'm not craving any carbs, I just don't know what I want.

But it sure as hell ain't more eggs

greygirl · 20/04/2012 14:45

oh ledkr it is soul-destroying when things don't seem to be going your way. I have had chicken thighs and celery all week and i think i will be ill if i eat anymore. next week is smoked salmon (and i hate that so that will be a joy).

I do agree that it is hard when you are on the move a lot. I would suggest (in defiance of our great and glorious leader) you buy some packs of cooked chicken,. some salami and posh ham. buy some celery sticks. take these out with you for lunch. I think if you having trouble consider cutting cheese out altogether, and reduce your veg - no tomatoes, no carrots. you have this weekend (and i hope you're not working) to drink lots of water. maybe for breakfast have some ham and philadelphia or a cold boiled egg.

the other option is to come slightly off the bootcamp and accept your weightloss will be slower - and in some sensible carbs - like a proper salad with your chicken at lunchtime, maybe porridge for breakfast and maybe a fw nuts and some berries. that's what all of us will probably move too after this bootcamp is over.

are you taking vitamin tablets?
big supportive hug because these things are hard.

PostBellumBugsy · 20/04/2012 14:47

Another person with foot weightloss. I have a pair of slip on loafer shoes & they swim on me like boats now. Like GetOrf, I completely walked out of one the other day - obviously a pissing down, puddley day - and not one of the long drought filled days when it wouldn't have mattered as much!

ledkr, it is possible if you have been doing slimming world & weight watchers for quite some time, that your metabolism has shut down a bit. SW & WW are both calorie controlled diets, which basically involve - to a greater or lesser degree - starving yourself. Would it be a bonkers idea to completely take a week off from dieting and then start low carbing? hopes someone else will chip in and give better advice Also, if you are already quite slim, it can be a real bugger trying to shift the last few pounds.

MNP · 20/04/2012 14:47

Keep at it Ledkr but I know how you feel am quite Envy of those loosing 4-5lbs this week already.

greygirl · 20/04/2012 14:47

and for my own trauma

SOMEONE ELSE HAS BOUGHT CAKE IN TO WORK!!

(AND FRUIT FOR THE DIETERS!!!!)

Schnarkle · 20/04/2012 14:50

Grin MsRinky

Happy Birthday Shirtyknot

The fog has finally lifted today. I couldn't be around anyone yesterday without wanting to do them damage with a hard boiled egg. Woke this morning and felt fantastic.

Another pound and a bit down today. 3.2 pounds gone. Grin

greygirl · 20/04/2012 14:50

Also Ledkr, are you getting any exercise?
if not, and you are travelling a lot, start parking at the back of carpark, so you at least get a bit of walking from one end to the other.

oh and sugar free mints have sorbitol so they act as a laxative, for those of you who might need to know this.

greygirl · 20/04/2012 14:58

and what is a MiM?

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 15:00

Add lots of chilli to your soup - the pain endorphins will give you a lift. Can you take a chilli stew to work? I love very spicy food - it always feels like a great big hug and a smack in the face at the same time - perverse pleasure.

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 15:01

Sorry that last post was for Ledr

WizzyBizzy · 20/04/2012 15:08

Hi all. Have a total 'mare of a day today. Dealing with 2 very young children being difficult is not something I am genetically predisposed to do (even though they are my own....). Feeling quite stressed out. Added to it, my DH poured himself a glass of white wine last night and then decided he didn't want it so put it back, in its glass, in the fridge. Honestly, after the morning I've had, I desperately want to just have a teeny tiny sip. The thought is making me hallucinate.... Of course I won't, but bleeding hell it's not making my day any easier!

So far:
B: scrambled egg and an avocado
L: was out so Ended up having a chicken and goats cheese salad. I've given up avoiding dairy but if I'm not happy with my weight loss this fortnight I will try again but with a dairy ban.
No snacks at all yet and I had lunch really early so I'm doing well, but DH has just informed me that he's going to be late home again. No idea what we'll have, maybe prawn stir fry.

I'm no longer thirsty, or have icky mouth. Does that mean I'm not in ketosis?

ohforfoxsake · 20/04/2012 15:09

Ledkr, it might be helpful to look at The Harcombe Diet. Essentially a low-carb diet, but underlying it is that you don't eat fat and carbs together. So for one meal a day you could have say, a jacket potato with cottage cheese, a pitta with houmous or porridge with skimmed milk or water, or a pepper stuffed with brown rice and veg. I really liked it, and it worked well for me - about the same as this time.

WizzyBizzy · 20/04/2012 15:31

Happy birthday Shirty btw!

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/04/2012 15:56

Happy Birthday Shirty knot!

B: 3 fried eggs with a few plum toms
L: (just had as just got home) mackerel salad with lettuce and coleslaw
Not enough water.

Another coached swimming session this morning.

Don't give up Ledkr!!!!!

MrsNouveauRichards · 20/04/2012 16:34

MsRinky :o

B - slice of ham and 3 cashew nuts, 1 tea, 1 hot water and lemon.
L - yoghurt and 1/4 tin tomato soup (felt rubbish and it was leftover from kids lunch) tea, 2 glasses of water
S - piece of cheese, 2 glasses of water
D (will be) - sausages, homemade ratatouille, mountain of cabbage and more fecking water :o

SharonGless · 20/04/2012 16:49
