So it's Friday. The start of the Dangerous Days, otherwise known as the weekend.

Can I remind everyone that there is to be no alcohol during bootcamp

We need someone in to crack the whip at you lot! All these goodies nasties are making my mouth water.

WizzyBizzy · 21/04/2012 23:48

Still no wine here

However I had lunch with friends today and few iffy items crept in. But no wine do you hear me!

B: scrambled egg
L: hmmmm.... Chicken salad...which may have had some edamame in it. And a falafel. And a teeny tiny bit of hummus. wonders whether to mention the tiny piece of cheesecake
D- bolognese made with cauliflower, kale and leeks, side of lettuce

Still no bleeding wine. If any of you winos have lost weight tomorrow and I haven't I shall down a bottle of red instantly be very miffed indeed.

FauxFox · 22/04/2012 07:27

I felt I had a good day yesterday - weekends are always harder (as we can see by all the confessions!!).

I had scrambled eggs and fried mushrooms for breakfast, curried cauli soup for lunch, blue cheese on celery sticks as a snack and then went out for dinner where i ate king prawns in garlic, chorizo and olives followed by fillet steak with melted cheese and mushroom sauce with a bit of salad and veg....and 2 x 250ml glasses red wine....and a coffee with cream...so not too bad?

I promise to stay off the vino 'til next Friday now BIWI, Brownie's honour (salutes).

Today I'm planning on
B: chorizo and cheese
L: omelette and salad
D: Out to see relatives for buffet tea, will stick to ham/cheese/prawns/salads, should be OK, although I am going to make and take chocolate cake that I won't be able to eat...

I'm not missing sweet stuff at all, or carbs, really into this WOE thanks BIWI this is really working for me! In fact I have eaten nicer food this last week than I usually would! It's like i've been given permission to take a bit more time and effort to make myself proper meals where i'd previously just pick at chocs, biscuits and toast all day...I like it Smile

SharonGless · 22/04/2012 07:48

Morning all have woken up with a headache but was on lates last night and didn't sleep well so putting it down to that.
Good day food wise yesterday but out for lunch today so no quite sure how will manage. If its a carvery lunch I will be fine but at least I will have control over my food choice.
Having kippers and boiled eggs for breakfast - yum!
Weighed myself and have lost 4lbs so happy with that

MrsNouveauRichards · 22/04/2012 08:03

My name is is MrsNR and I have a confession......

Yesterday I went to a child's birthday party and had a handful of egg sandwiches and a piece of cake Blush

In my defence, I had been rushed off my feet all day and was unprepared so got to the party having only had a piece of ham all day. I tried to claw it back with 2 lots of exercise and being good at the Indian restaurant. Should have drunk more water though.

My penance shall be cooking an enormous roast dinner for my friends and family and not touching the potatoes or yorkshire puds.

Weigh in shortly.....

noddyholder · 22/04/2012 08:46

Weight back down today so very happy! Feel motivated to keep going Have lost 3 lbs in total so happy would have been 4 but the wine def scuppered me Friday. Making a huge fry up brunch for everyone at 11 so will just leave out the toast and hash browns.well done everyone x

Thegoddessblossom · 22/04/2012 09:05

B: 3 egg, 3 bacon fried in butter. Yum Yum. DH thought he'd died and gone to heaven. Grin

ohforfoxsake · 22/04/2012 10:00

I feel great today. Grin

I feel like I could take on the World.

(Well, the ironing at least.)

Two poached eggs, 3 bacon for Brekkie
Chicken Sunday roast for lunch,
Left over steak and veggies for dinner.

LackaDAILYcarb · 22/04/2012 10:14

Morning :)
My cheat yesterday consisted of a handful of tropical mix, the shame Blush
But...still no wine!
Weighed myself, and have gone back to lbs as I was weighing in kilos then checking is stones and lbs as well :o
So, starting weight in lbs was 12st 11.5 and today I weighed in at 12st 8. I'm happy :) but need to eat more fat and drink more water.

ohforfoxsake · 22/04/2012 10:17

Can we have another boot-camp after this one?

LackaDAILYcarb · 22/04/2012 10:35

Just had courgette & leek frittata for brunch....yummy :o

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 22/04/2012 10:38

Well we're only in week 1, ohforfoxsake! Still week 2 to go. We can - and I think it would be a good idea to - continue after that. But less strictly. For those who have been being strict, anyway!

(and I include myself in that Blush)

OP posts:
LackaDAILYcarb · 22/04/2012 10:38

foxy, I'm going to keep on with the bootcamp woe until I have reached 10% loss and I'm sure someone else mentioned they would keep this up till they reached their target, but can't remember who.

TherapeuticVino · 22/04/2012 11:01

I've had a mixed week! First few days I had a funeral with wake afterwards. It went on for a few hours over lunch and there was NOTHING I could eat (all sandwiches cakes etc) so I stuck to my black decaf coffee.....then nearly passed out in the car park!! Ate a bag of nuts and a big block of cheese and got home, but then gave into a glass of wine. Next 2 days I did great with food but DH was off work and we hit the wine in the evening....BUT I am now ON IT and will do AMAZINGLY in the second week to make up for the iffy first week.....

Thegoddessblossom · 22/04/2012 11:03

agree with whoever said they are eating more interesting thought out meals. I always ate the same things day in day out. I am eating more fish, more meat, more and difference veg on this WOE. Much better.

Bought some pork belly strips in Sainsbos yesterday, so they are on the menu for this week.....something I would not have touched with a barge pole before....

slowlyburningcalories · 22/04/2012 12:41

Don't know if this will help anyone, but this is my end result of meal planning for the last hour. The fridge is empty and so it is time for a visit to sainsburys.

Breakfasts - scrambled egg, slice bacon, mushrooms (DH and DD have beans and toast as well)

Sunday D salmon fillet with cauliflower and avocado or king prawn stir fry with courgettes and those noodles if I can find them
Monday D home made burgers with broccoli
Tuesday and Wednesday D BIWIs shepherds pie and cauliflower
Thursday D chicken breast rolled in Parma ham and broccoli
Friday D steak with cauliflower

DH will take ham rolls for his lunches, I will have mackerel, smoked salmon and salads.

MNP · 22/04/2012 12:45

Up late so

L:roast duck, cauli mash with butter and cream, leeks and mushrooms fire in butter and oil
D:
S:

Thegoddessblossom · 22/04/2012 12:59

L: big bowl of homemade onion soup. Then googled carbs in onions. Sad Oh well, should make me fly at the gym later.

smokinaces · 22/04/2012 14:04

Just had my homemade broccoli and stilton soup. Yum.

And a mim. This time will a small amount of cheese crumbled in and one less spoonful of flaxseed. Hell of a lot nicer. Little bit eggy, but getting better.

And Lo and behold one week of low carbing and my period comes. Every bloody time. That mirena doesn't manage to stop the carb withdrawal bleeds!! Feeling sorry for myself now, but will not give into crisps and chocolate.

MariaCallous · 22/04/2012 14:24

Right fellow worshippers of the LC, what shall I do with some chicken thighs to make them way yummy? Skin and bone is involved

WizzyBizzy · 22/04/2012 14:30

Phrrrrr. Bought flax seed instead of flax seed meal. Feel a right plonked and can't make MiMs. Buggeration.

Today so far:
B: 2 scrambled eggs and an avocado
L: soup made with lots of veg, a bit of chicken some butter and creme fraiche
D: will be salmon in a creamy sauce, asparagus fried in butter

Off to weigh in. Toodle pip

P.s. yy to continued shouting from BIWI and others after this fortnight.

WizzyBizzy · 22/04/2012 14:30

Support. That was meant to say support!

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 22/04/2012 14:31

Remove the bones, but keep the skin on.

Marinade for about 30 minutes in olive oil, juice of a lemon and crush 1-2 cloves of garlic into it all. Black pepper and oregano.

Then heat a griddle/large frying pan until it's smoking hot, and cook the thighs, skin side down first, till lovely and golden brown. Turn over once or twice so that the flesh side also browns a little.

Sprinkle with sea salt before serving.

Oh, I had chicken thighs last night. I fried them in butter to make the skins crispy then roasted them in the oven covered with mushrooms and a tin of chopped tomatoes, sprinkled with basil. The tomotoes were quite carby but fine when split into 4 portions.
