The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

I had quiche last night! Two kinds actually: quiche Lorraine and a pest and roast tomato one. Was delish.

Do I count as a member? I'm definitely Pauling (although I haven't lost any weight yet) - well, I fall asleep to listen to the CD every night.

Never been in a quiche either. I've joined in at the beginning of a couple, but usually fade away once I realise everyone lse is funnier/more interesting/busier/etc than me. Tragic really smile.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 29/06/2012 07:27

Oops that should have been Smile.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/06/2012 07:37

Kinky in no way do you drag things down. How you even function is amazing to me - and I know you will say 'because I have no choice', but you are still amazing. I think about your DD often and pray for all of you.

I have Shredded this morning - feel fabulous! Grin

JustFabulous · 29/06/2012 07:46

I feel a traitor to abandon you for today but tbh all I can think about is Expat's DD so not sure what I will do today.

Have put a bit of weight on too after 2 days of healthy eating. must hve been those few pretzels last night.

HaveALittleFaith · 29/06/2012 08:23

I feel we are all taking a positive step forward! kinky I agree you are incredible. I think even if you can just find 20 minutes a day to listen to the CD it'll help.

I feel pretty good overall. Had a bit of trouble last night health wise where for a while I desperately needed to wee but couldn't Hmm the sooner I get fixed, the better! But it settled after a couple of pints of water - course I was up 3 times in the night! I managed to listen to the CD, I feel I'm eating better. I got round to weighing myself and I've lost 1lb. Not a huge amount but given how little activity I can manage I'm really pleased! Better than gaining :)

IMO anyone who has been battling with weight issues for a long time and turns to Pauling is likely to have more issues than just fat! But we should try having a woe's thread/quiche to give a support network and keep this focused on the Pauling. That way if anyone is struggling they could keep in touch and get that support without worrying about dragging the thread down too.

BigBoobiedBertha · 29/06/2012 09:34

I think we should have Kinky fan club but I think you are bloody marvellous too. (Was going to say a Kinky quiche but that sounded a bit risque for a Friday morningGrin). You aren't bringing anybody down and when we don't hear from you we worry so don't think you can't come and tell us what is going on.

Had to have a childish giggle at what I presume was a typo Shotgun 'pest and roast tomato quiche'. I pondered the type of pest that would make a good quiche - I suppose the meatier the better so I am thinking rat?

I'm sitting here hopeful that sports day (well, afternoon) will be cancelled. It has just started peeing it down. I have to go and get my haircut in a mo and I could really do with a couple of hours at home this afternoon rather than stood on a damp field wondering who is going to be first to slip and break a leg whilst wondering why I bothered to spend all that money on a blow dry. Come on email, let me off the hook!!!

On a Pauling note, I am pleased to report that the weight rise of a lb or 2 was entirely AF related as it has gone back down again this morning. Lets hope I can shift another couple of lb before the next AF rolls into town.

Solo · 29/06/2012 09:36

Hello Kinky :) really lovely to see you! How is Dd and how are you? I have been thinking of you every day actually, thinking that I must PM you to check up on you etc... Everyone is rooting for Expats Dd (and I am too), but I am very aware that little Aillidh is not the only child and their family suffering cancer and its effects. So dearest Kinky, my thoughts and prayers are in your corner; I do hope they are helping.x

I do think that a separate thread is a good idea, but I think through the course of each 30 days it/they will run, we all have to post something and or check that one of us isn't ranting/moaning or otherwise to an empty arena...even just something like 'no woes today' or something similarly relevant to check in. Does everyone agree?

BBB Dd had her sports day yesterday morning. It was lovely, but I have blooming bites everywhere!!!

I think I'm going to start the OTBT thread now and Kinky it is for you too :) I will post a link of course!

Solo · 29/06/2012 09:42

Oh and I have had 3lbs off since yesterday (AF not arriving related I think).

Bless you all. I'm off to have a look at the other one.

I'm very worried for expat's DD too, Just. We have quite a community as parents of patients, and I have followed her facebook for months now. I am so sad that they are going through what they are going through, just as I am sad and praying for Olivia Downie, who is FarloRigel (on MNs) DD's friend. We've recently lost yet another little girl on our ward. It seems endless, and so very, very tragic. All these little people having to cope with so much Sad. DD is 13, so is a bit better at understanding, but it is still tough to see what she has to go through.

Ali I function with carb overload, hence the need for bigger trousers Grin. I am trying very hard to focus on PM today though. Except, this time, I'm trying to do it properly. I combined with WW last time, and I think that's what led to my downfall. It's like I have to be forced to step away from the diets...

I'm not very incredible though, Have, more a bit unhinged!

Trust you BBB with your kinky fan club. You'll have all the ladies of chat swarming in, thinking its about fifty shades of grey... Grin Grin Grin

Thank you Solo and thank you for your messages and thoughts. I do really appreciate them. I think, now that DD looks more normal, and tried to get to school every now and then, people forget that we are still very much going through it. I am actually very worried about her at the moment as she has iron overload in her blood, and they have recently MRI'd her to have a look to see whether it has got into her major organs. We get the results next week. Anyway, she's not too bad in herself. Her immunity is very low and she's on a load of antibiotics to stop infection, but apart from that, she's her normal self. She spends hours on the internet... a bit like her mother Grin. Thank you though, and I hope that everything is okay with you too.

Thanks Thanks Thanks all of you Smile.

Just saying hello.

Met a friend for lunch and had a superfood salad in Leon but just don't feel like eating.

ppeatfruit · 29/06/2012 18:12

WOW !!!!! you lot have made me laugh and cry today just reading through the posts from when i posted yesterday. Sorry to sound be totally higerant but what is OB thingy?

I was thinking like you Mardy we could stay as we are a bit of moaning etc. is not so bad if we can lighten it with the opposite like just now IYSWIM and others seem a bit frightened of us anyway and esp. now we is bluds and a quiche innit!! It's just that I'm trying to keep my compooter time to a minimum and another thread will do the opposite. Grin Agree about the fan club for Kinky though Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 29/06/2012 18:21

ppeat OTBT is off the beaten track. Hidden threads :) vanishes every 30 days.

I'm doing ok food wise. I'm looking forward to having gluten free pie and chips for dinner! Grin

Solo · 29/06/2012 18:24

Have PM'd you pp :)

FFS. I have put weight on again.

I have been only eating food on the lovely nurse's healthy eating list except for a few pretzels and some chocolte popcorn but not a lot. I have done 2-3 hours on the rowing machine over 3 days. I can't do this any more. I can't even lose 1/2 a pound. Something is wrong, surely. SadSadSadSadSad

ppeatfruit · 30/06/2012 09:15

Morning All Smile Thanks for the info have but HOW do you find a HIDDEN thread???

Thanks Sols i have replied Smile

justfab Are you strictly following Paul Mc's rules? remember it's not a few pretzels or whatever because you have to eat until satisfied; IMO the medics know very little (if anything) about proper nutrition because from what you say you have an intolerance to wheat which is quite normal but not recognised by many of the medics at all. if you're an O blood type then a high protein, veg and fruit, whole rice, no wheat diet would suit you best and would probably help yr weight loss. Smile

ppeatfruit · 30/06/2012 09:18

arfur Are actually on yr blood type? i'll def, help if you need it!

HaveALittleFaith · 30/06/2012 09:43

Click here for the link to the new Fred ppeat!

Fab maybe you've gained muscle? Weighs more than fat. Long term having more muscle burns more calories, even at rest so stick with it! I did wonder if you're intolerant to wheat - my first sign was bloating when I ate pie or a big pizza and weetabix and ready brek going straight through me! Probably worth asking your GP to test you for coeliac - simple blood test- if it's negative have a trial without wheat to see if it helps. It also helped me feel better - I have more energy and I'm less snappy.definitely worth investigating.

JustFabulous · 30/06/2012 10:31

I did have a coeliac test a while ago but got confused with what to eat and not eat before but it came back fine.

I have done 60 minutes on the rowing machine. Ran/walked to Asda in 15 minutes (normally takes 20 at normal walking speed), 25 minutes walking around Asda. 20 minutes walk home with 2 heavyish bags and partly uphill. Not feeling hungry yet but DH is making me some porridge.

I have had DH measure relevant bits of me and 1 1/2inches have gone on my tummy Hmm. All my other measurements sound horrific. Yet I bought a size 12 skirt yesterday in Fat Face but my new jacket in Timberland was XL. I am not a 12. DP has vanity sizing too as my jeans from there are a 12. I am XL. Weigh 13 stone 1lb and am 5 foot 6. Can't remember blood group though O positive sounds familiar.

Have bought lots of salad, a granary baguette, some cooked steak and smoked salmon. Feel like I am doing it all wrong though.

ppeatfruit · 30/06/2012 13:29

JF You can be wheat intolerant without being coeliac; DH is, he's a different (much nicer) person without it Grin Like Havea (thanks for the link!! BTW) says why don't you try going wheat free for a week or so and see how it goes? sorry to say but whole wheat is the worst. Salad and steak and salmon are fine just cut the bread (I eat ryvita and spelt and kamut bread ).

ppeatfruit · 30/06/2012 13:35

Also sizing ATM is rubbish isn't it? Like weighing all the time ; I don't bother looking at the sizes just get what fits Grin.

JustFabulous · 30/06/2012 13:35

So no toast? I bought a lovely seeded granary loaf the other day as well Sad. Just had a satsuma.

So no bread or cereal? No pasta too I assume? Is it basically nothing with flour? [thick emoticon]

JustFabulous · 30/06/2012 13:38

I wish sizing was standard. Last 2 tops have been 18's. Last 3 bottoms (jeans, jeans and a skirt) have been 12's. I have big boobs but a big tummy too. Waiting for DH to finally choose somewhere for us to go for a walk but if he doesn't pick soon I am not going.

ppeatfruit · 30/06/2012 14:05

JF We don't touch wheat (it exhausts me and stops my digestion dead) I have toasted ryvita (BTW you have to read the label 'cos they put it in nearly everything!) and spelt\rye and kamut bread so yes we do have toast but without protein with it.

The H.F. shops have a good variety of wheat free pasta, made with rice or whatever and i use rice flour for cooking (it makes better pancakes than wheat !!) They also sell the W.F. bread (the G.F. free stuff is not nice though).

I agree about sizing BTW.
