The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Welcome Mama I have no advice really as I know nowt about vegetarianism. You are very welcome on here though. :)
The thread is a bit quiet right now, but I reckon we can kick start it and give it some positivity soon.

I've been quiet recently as I really don't want to bring my troubles onto the thread as make it negative, but I am going away to Norfolk for a week in August and I've piled on a lot again and am uncomfortable, so want to sort it out.

Hi all. I've not stopped at work hence no posts! perhaps how it should be?!
fab that's brilliant! Definitely sounds like the lack of protein was leaving you hungry! Fwiw the Curves book said one portion of egg was two medium eggs but bear in mind with that I'd have one portion protein (so two eggs) and 1 carb for breakfast and even on the lowest calorie diet would have another protein as a mid morning snack so you effectively rolled them into one?!

Welcome to Emily! I would say my first recommendation would be to stay on this thread and post regularly. I've been Pauling 6 months and would have stuck with it this long without the support. It's like a slimming club support principle without the guilt-trip! It's really important to listen to the CD regularly too.
I'm no expert on vegetarian food I'm afraid. Have you tried a variety of nuts? I didn't think I liked any but I've found I really like pistachios so I snack on them - I portion = 20 pistachios. I'll have a look in my book about other protein rich snacks. My DH is on the large side but likes treats. I buy stuff I don't like or can't eat I eat a GF diet but hey if I fancy a cheeky snack and I'm hungry then I have it and eat it consciously. That's the key. When I first started Pauling I did eat a lot of sugary snacks because I had permission to for the first time in years. That desire settled and now I am snacking on more fruit of I fancy something sweet!
Meal size wise - why don't you try getting a smaller plate out for you? Have you read the book again?

MamaEmily · 28/06/2012 14:46

Hi HaveALittleFaith - I never had the book, just the CD, managed to dig it out of iTunes and have had a listen and feel a bit more motivated now. Thanks for the tips - I could try and make sure that he usually buys snacks with gelatine so I can't eat them lol.

Hopefully it works this time round! Has anyone tried the couch 2 5k course? I'm a bit wary as my hips/back haven't been the same since having had PGP quite badly with DD2 - did anyone else have this and how did they find it getting into exercise?

I think remembering the when I'm hungry and until I'm full bits will be the hardest to remember - often I only notice I'm eating & full when the plate's nearly empty lol!

MardyBra · 28/06/2012 16:51

Hello Mama - nice to have you along especially as you are an old hand at this Pauling lark. You can probably teach me a thing or two!Smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/06/2012 17:13

Hello ladies :)

I'm finding that the weather isn't helping. I buy salad and then its cold so I want mashed potato, and vice versa.

I listened to the CD last night for the first time in a month - I can tell today, it has really helped.

JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 17:34

Solo - look at all my moaning Blush. I might be presumptious but I think this is our thread and we can use it for any kind of support so if you need an ear we are here.

Solo · 28/06/2012 17:37

Oh I know Fab, but I would hate to put people off joining in to lose weight when we are all moaning about our troubles and woes etc :) so I do try not to.

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 17:40

Oops Blush.

Solo · 28/06/2012 17:52

Maybe we should have a PMK members troubles thread...?

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 18:12

Good idea.

Solo · 28/06/2012 18:13

Do you think? anyone else want a moans and groans type separate thread for us Paulettes?

OP posts:
Solo · 28/06/2012 18:15

And I think I'm being called prejudiced (racist?) on another thread right now!

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 18:27

Which one??

Solo · 28/06/2012 18:42

It's gone quiet atm, but I'm a bit Hmm about being called that from what I said. Take a LOOK and see whether I was or not.

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 18:51

No, you weren't.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 28/06/2012 19:15

Solo ignore. That poster (IMO) is of the 'hand-wringing on everyone else's behalf' brigade.

I think a moans and groans would be great.

arfur · 28/06/2012 19:29

Hahahaha you lot have really made me laugh! I love that ali and justfab went and waded in on another thread to back you up solo! We are like a proper gang and everything - NO ONE MESSES WITH OUR PAULETTES!! Brilliant! btw I agree deffo not racist solo - silly woman!

Grin
JustFabulous · 28/06/2012 19:47

GrinBlushGrin.

HaveALittleFaith · 28/06/2012 19:48

Yup she's a hand wringer for sure. What's the best PC term to use? 'parents of a non-British origin'?! She needs to get over herself. You never said where they were from just that they might be travelling with the bear and picking up bugs! Hmm

Emily I would recommend buying the book. I found it an enlightening read and that it reinforced why the rules were important. Especially the 'eat consciously' - he points out overweight people think about food sits all the time, except when they're eating. That was a lightbulb moment for me! I would zone out watching tv and stuff myself. Concentrating on my food is the biggest challenge for me but I think I'm winning that battle. Speaking of the rules, I must go and eat. I've barely stopped since I got - cleaning and unpacking!- and I need some dinner!

ppeatfruit · 28/06/2012 20:00

Brilliant idea solo Grin and waves at arfur how's it going? NO I TOTALLY AGREE NO ONE MESSES WITH US AND GETS AWAY WITH iT!! We could ourselves the Paul Posse yeah m'bluds y'know?
