How can I have gained 1.5 lb overbloodynight?

I had lost 3 lb in a week and was feeling pretty good. Decided to have a day off yesterday and had wine, chocolate, pasta - the works. Didn't exactly pig out, just indulged a bit.

Today? 1.5lb back on! Not fair Angry

megabored · 22/04/2012 15:28

puff it's probably water. 1litre of water weighs 1kg.

megabored · 22/04/2012 15:31

puds the shred is great. Really effective no none sense. Play.com had the DVD for Gbp 5 inc delivery. It has made a real difference to my post pregnancy tummy. It hurts after the first day u do it but a week later I was on level 2.

Hopefully · 22/04/2012 19:33

Puff it is probably 2/3 water (although possibly 1/3 real weight gain. Sorry). Drink plenty of water and it will go in a day or two!

Mini boot camp curtailed 1 Shred short of the finish line as AF appeared a day early and I have terrible cramps. Pleased with what i've done though. On the plus side, I haven't really had any pre-AF weight gain, so I'm hoping that I've actually lost once the bloating goes.

puds11 · 22/04/2012 21:39

sounds like an option! Thanks mega
Dont be disheartend puff i had a day like this and have decided not to weigh myself, just to observe the results.

Well after a positive start last week, it all went a bit pear shaped towards the end of the week, with 2 busy days at work and then a weekend of boozing and snacking Blush

BUT I'm starting afresh tomorrow. I've reactivated my Food Focus account, am booked in for an exercise class in the morning, and have dug out my (unused) Zumba dvds. So I'm all set! Won't know my exact calorie allowance until I weigh-in and enter it into FF in the morn, but it's been around 1300 in the past, with the option to 'earn' more from exercise, so that should be ok.

I've got the 30 Day Shred dvd but really don't enjoy it at all so will leave that for now.

Here's to a new week everyone!!

Hopefully · 23/04/2012 11:44

Right, I would like AF-bloating to go away now so I can see if I've actually lost anything.

Have my sister down this week so I'm going to try to fit in an extra workout some days while she does a bit of babysitting - an so sick of fighting with these lat few lbs. can't believe I weigh exactly the same as a month ago (even if I know some if it is - fingers crossed - water weight). I so want to get under the magic 10st barrier!

Pink good luck with your fresh start!

PinkCustard · 23/04/2012 13:35

Thanks Hopefully. It's hard work with the last bit isn't it - I only want to lose 7lb so I know it'll take a lot of effort. I'm sure the scales will start to shift for you soon - 3lb will probably vanish overnight!

Weighed in this morn and am pleased that I've actually lost 1lb overall in the first week - which I know isn't much but my goal is only 1lb a week anyway. Did my exercise class this morning, so feeling good. FF is telling me the 90 min class burnt 491 cals, which is definitely over-generous, but I'm not planning on eating the extra exercise cals today anyway.

Hope everyone's Monday is going well x

DoUntoOtters · 24/04/2012 07:39

Morning all.

I have stuck to low carbing for a full 2 weeks and I have lost 7lbs. Grin Another 8 to go before the summer. I know that the loss will slow right down now (as it should), but such a big start has spurred me on to keep with it.

Good luck to everyone this week.

Hopefully · 24/04/2012 09:56

Otters Envy Envy of your 7lb loss!

I bloody hate low carbing, because I cannot survive without my sweet tooth hit, so end up having too much sweetener etc and feeling like I'm not exactly nurturing my body with whole foods. However, if I don't start to shift some weight after AF finally disappears this week I am going to have to take drastic action.

Pink well done on the loss! I think I need to stop eating back so many of my exercise calories - I know that MFP over-estimates, so I don't eat back all my calories, but I think that actually I need to eat even fewer. Which is depressing, as the only reason I exercise is to allow me to eat more.

Grr, feeling really irritated with the whole diet thing today - feel like I'm working so hard just to stay still, and (even ignoring the fact that I'd like to lose a bit more) as soon as I let up at all, I'll start gaining. Argh.

Minimammoth · 24/04/2012 20:21

AmEnvy. After the babies party I weighed 10. 11. Poooh. Far too many fairy cakes.
Feels like back to square one. Will get weighed tomorrow and start again.

Minimammoth · 25/04/2012 10:29

Scales say 10. 9. this morning. So nearly back to where I was 2 weeks ago.
Get thee behind me sugar.

puds11 · 25/04/2012 10:34

Ok ive order the 30 day shread. It hasnt arrived yet. I'm a little bit nervous for its arrival, as it may very well kill me.
What are your experiences with it?
I'm not weighing myself anymore mini as its just depressing!

Minimammoth · 25/04/2012 11:06

I am not looking forward to tomorrow!
She is very bossy!

OP posts:
Hopefully · 25/04/2012 12:59

Puds well done! Keep it up for a few days and you'll really notice a difference in how hard it is. The first 3-4 days are a bit unpleasant as you're still stiff from the day before, but after the first 5 mins you warm up and the stiffness goes.

I am back to my pre-AF weight (i.e. what I weighed a week ago), so I'm hoping that I'll actually get a bit lower this week or next.

I swear, I am never going to crack the 10st barrier.

Hopefully · 25/04/2012 13:00

By which I mean, you'll notice a difference in how hard it is because it will get easier. Didn't mean to sound so un-motivating!

megabored · 25/04/2012 13:25

Well done Puds. Keep it up. Such a shame I can't go walking in this crazy weather. Angry. I find that the day I stay home and don't do the shred or walk, I eat much more...Hmm.
