Back from visiting friends. Was bad, but not as bad as it could have been! There was no way I was missing amazing indian spice roasted chicken and Bombay potatoes, and roast pork belly yesterday, but managed to hold back on excessive crisps and alcohol. Hope the scales are not too mean to me tomorrow Smile.

Saffron I had to work really hard to get out of eating when tired instead of resting more. Now I feel much more in touch with my body, and I know when I need more sleep, more fuel or just a bit of exercise to perk me up. I forced myself to get a good 8 hours sleep a night (which for me means about 9 hours in bed, as I take ages to fall asleep and I wake early regardless of what the DCs do) for a long time until I was a bit more in tune.

Hi MABS and welcome!

Back to running tomorrow, think I will be on the first run of week 4 of couch to 5k. Week 3 pissed me off with too much walking (I was recovered from the longer runs before the walk was up), so hoping to be a bit more challenged this week!

MABS · 15/04/2012 22:12

Thanks HopefullySmile good luck with run tmro

sassytheFIRST · 16/04/2012 06:34

Hi all, hope you are all feeling motivated today ...Smile

Good news and bad here. Bad - back to work after 2 lovely weeks off. Although I usually love my job it is tough at the mo and I'm not looking forward to it. Good - am 2 lbs lighter this morning, so that's 4lbs in a week Grin 11 st6 today. Under 11st4 is my "acceptable" zone (though I'd like to be under 10.10 really) so def heading in right direction.

Hopefully · 16/04/2012 06:53

Morning everyone! Had a lovely run this morning, an scales still have me at the same weight as Friday, so I am Grin Grin

Sassy well done, fab weight loss!

Sparklingbrook · 16/04/2012 07:23

Morning all. The exercising starts in earnest today once I have seen the boys off to school.

If I can do 4lbs off this week Sassy I will be so happy. Well done. Smile

glenthebattleostrich · 16/04/2012 07:53

Morning,

Well done Sassy, I'm off to weigh myself tomorrow if I i'm feeling brave.

Had a really rough night with DD (got a whole 4 hours sleep) so not feeling great this morning, normally that would mean chocolate for breakfast and bad snacking all day but today I've started as I mean to go on. Big bowl of porridge for breakfast with a 1.5 plums (got mugged for the other half, guess the toddler has her uses!) and a couple of mugs of tea. Tuna salad wrap planned for lunch or if I'm late back some oxtail soup.

And I'm continuing my cleaning mission, I will no longer be queen of the slatterns!

Have a fab day everyone :)

puds11 · 16/04/2012 08:06

Morning!
Well done guys you're doing really well! I'm watching what i eat, and going to the gym today, but am extremely bloated from period, so i feel the size of a house at the mminute!
Hoping to have lost a couple of pounds by the wednesday weigh in!

I am a bit of a left over from another thread, but am still on a mission to lose a few more pounds. My methods are this: I know I will not do any more activity than I do now. So I want to change my eating habits so that I can sustain a healthier weight. I realised that I was eating to my D h 's regime and he eats way more than I do. So I need to pay attention to when I am hungry rather than eating because is dinner time. So far I have lost half a stone , very slowly. I avoid wheat, sugar and chips. Hope this is not too long. I need encouragement.Smile

megabored · 16/04/2012 10:02

Puds, great idea re. Weighing in date. End May sounds good.

saffronwblue · 16/04/2012 12:29

Feeling more focused today and enjoyed the lemon water start. Even managed grilled chicken at a pizza/pasta restaurant with DCs.

Minimammoth agree about the trap of eating to keep up with a man!

MABS · 16/04/2012 12:58

didnt get to gym, bloody jetlag, but tennis and boxfit session tomorrow

puds11 · 16/04/2012 17:33

Never mind MABS you'll make up for it tomorrow!
I went to the gym today, now both my feet are bleeding Sad Obviously was a shock to the system!
Caved at the supermarket though and ate a cream filled muffin Blush

Poached eggs on toast for breakfast. Tasty and completely rammed now.

Will eat from canteen at lunchtime - and just a bowl of cereal this evening I think. There is only me to feed as the dc are having tea at grannies and dh is away.

Still surprisingly well-motivated!

Hopefully · 17/04/2012 07:04

Sassy I'm all about eggs for breakfast when I have time - the high protein really keeps me full.

Weight down a whopping 0.2lbs today compared to last week, but I'll take that after a weekend of indulgence and a bit of a chocolate disaster yesterday in the face of miserable clingy DCs for no apparent reason. Hoping it will fall later in the week - haven't had time for shredding so far since last week either, although did manage a run yesterday. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

MABS · 17/04/2012 08:13

poached eggs re great for brek, if i have time to do them that is... off for short run and tennis this am, then boxfit class tomight, i will collapse am sure. good with food yesterdy, no wine, will try same tody.

glenthebattleostrich · 17/04/2012 09:34

Morning all,

Porridge for breakfast today, hopefully that will see me through to lunch, although off to soft play with the littlies so I'm going to have to try to avoid the cake! The rest of the day depends on that.

I must get shredding, really need to tone up the middle podge so will try to do that today and get out for a walk if it doesn't rain.

DoUntoOtters · 17/04/2012 09:39

Morning, all. Very, very pleased with 4lbs off! Especially as last week we were still on holiday.

It has been a struggle though. DD made choc chip cookies last night and was most upset that I only had the tiniest nibble. And my period started today - ok so far, but may have me craving sweet stuff soon. Must be strong. Grin

I'm not very keen on eggs at any time, and couldn't eat them in the mornings. Shame because most low-carb breakfasts are eggs, eggs and eggs.

PinkCustard · 17/04/2012 14:26

Hello can I tentatively join you please? I know I'm a bit late, but have been gearing myself up to do something positive about the half stone I want to shift, and stumbled upon you lovely ladies.

Well done on the weight losses so far.

I've gotten into a bad snacking habit - we always seem to have lots of nice chocolate/biscuit treats in, so although my meals are ok, I always end up adding extra cals with lots of snacking, oh and a glass of wine most evenings too.

So plan of action is: limit wine to 1 glass on a Friday, 2 on a Saturday MAX; cut out the snacks; keep an eye on calories; and keep up the exercise. I currently ice skate at least once a week (although am very much a novice), and have recently started walking everyday. Have got a whole collection of zumba dvds too which I had forgotten about, but will dig them out.

Not sure which day is best for me to weigh-in, still deciding. Am also thinking about getting myself a set of scales which shows body fat aswell as weight, as I find I get disheartened if weight doesn't shift, even if I feel more toned. Does anyone have a pair - would you recommend?

Sorry for such a long introductory post Blush

DoUntoOtters · 17/04/2012 14:57

Welcome. PinkCustard.

I am Envy at your ice-skating. I'm not even allowed to roller-skate these days without DD muttering about being an embarrassment. Grin

I don't know about scales - I have to weigh myself on the Wii board.

puds11 · 17/04/2012 15:20

Welcome pinkcustard definately dig out the zumba dvd's they are super fun!!

MABS · 17/04/2012 16:57

well done otters! short run this am then hour tennis lesson. 2 poached eggs on one slice wholemeal this am, nothing else, hope to go to boxfit tonight too

glenthebattleostrich · 17/04/2012 17:22

Well everyone else is doing so much better than me, I really must up my exercise

Quite a bad day, had a caramel shortbread at softplay and then we stayed for lunch so ended up having a bacon and brie panini, feel a bit guilty. Risotto for tea so going to do lots of ironing tonight to make up for it and scrub the bathroom again. DH thinks this is great, I'm cleaning like mad to stop myself snacking!

PuffPants · 17/04/2012 18:22

Damn Waitrose and their grab bags of Rolos for a £1 AngrySadGrin

That is all.
