Aw just read about the babies in FB, how lovely for her (totally did pick up on her being gay though).

I'm lapsed shredder, I got to level 3 day 5 and has a couple of days off that turned into 6 weeks. I'm so annoyed with myself because I has a really good routine going and it all went to pot. Need a JM style kick up the bum to get me going again. I Will get to day 30 and move onto the more advanced forms of torture.

RedBlanket · 24/05/2012 15:53

Meant to say i Totally didnt pick up on the gay thing!

threestepsforward · 24/05/2012 15:57

Go on Redblanket, you know you want to!

I didn't know either...I think my DP will be rather upset to know ;)

Threestep I will stick at it. I think that's why I like 6w6p best 'cos there's only 2 circuits.

I really wish that I had measured myself when I first started shredding. I know I am getting stronger and am smaller all over but don't change see at all on the scales. I wish I could have a numerical visual clue to keep me motivated :)

Happypiglet · 24/05/2012 20:36

Hi everyone and welcome Redblanket....get back on the Jillian wagon! You know you want to...
They look like a cute family and Jillian doesn't look like she has missed the gym for two weeks. I guess she needs to fit in some work outs to her own DVDs in her own lounge like the rest of us have to!!!
Rest day for me today and I feel like I need it. Got out linen trousers due to lovely sun but they are too big.... Shopping required....oh well never mind! Wink

threestepsforward · 24/05/2012 21:28

Gypsy could you use clothes? I didn't get round to measuring myself at the start either but a pair of jeans / fitted top that I'd used to squeeze myself into before was/is a good marker

(Warning: Not Next jeans!!! The waistband of my pair was getting baggier and baggier and I was thinking, oh my, go me... turns out they're just terrible jeans and they all bag after a few wears Grin)

Downgraded myself to L1 Ripped this afternoon. Was so hot and listless I just didn't feel up to anything more hardcore! I did use 2.5 kg throughout though (apart from the side lunge and arm raise at the end - used 1.5 kg for those).

Shopping trip on the cards for you Happypiglet!

p.s. Thought Jillian looked fab in those photos! Loved her partner's jeans too - I am such a scruff bag lol

Would second the clothes thing. I went through a stage of my life where I didn't have a healthy relationship with my body/weight so I try and stay clear of weighing myself in case I get too caught up again. I have a pair of jeans that I have had for 20 years that are my 'barometer.' If they fit comfortably then I know my body is in good shape. There have been times I couoldn't egt into them at all!

gypsyfloss · 24/05/2012 22:50

The clothes thing is pretty much how I have been measuring it . Whereas before I fluctuated between sizes now I am resolutely the smaller size, which is great. But it doesn't stop me wanting to see a few pounds off on the scales ( I actually typed cakes there - Fruedian slip!) . I get a bit Envy when I read thread where posters are my height & weigh less , which is bonkers really as I'm the fittest I've ever been ... albeit with the sweetest tooth:)

NeitherShreddedNorSmug · 25/05/2012 12:06

I don't gave scales ATM, so have to go by clothes. We're having a clothing drive at work this month for a charity which helps women back into the workplace by giving them interview and work clothes. I've had to think long and hard before giving away some of the stuff that briefly fitted me 3 or 4 years ago, when I was at my smallest (8-10). i'm now back in a 12-14, and given my advancing years am not sure I'll ever get back there.

On a more positive note, I remembered to wear my heart rate monitor when I 6W6P'd earlier in the week. It came out as 212 cals burned, compared to 186 for the 30DS (though I don't have note of which level that was) and 118 for Jillian's power yoga DVD. So whoever said that 6W6P was faster upthread was right!

Happypiglet · 25/05/2012 13:17

I only bought scales recently as I hadn't really weighed myself in years...but everything was feeling a bit tighter and TBH I was interested. Thats when I found out I was just under a stone heavier than my 'usual' weight although bear in mind that that usual weight was from before having three kids.... I feel fine at half a stone lighter...like Neither I don't think on the wrong side of forty I am going to loose the other half stone....not sure I want to either...
But getting into clothes more easily is great and I assume that even if weight loss in pounds is elusive the better toned shape will help in that regard.
Well Level1 Ripped again for me today. We are off on our first camping trip of the new season later today and I have a steel poled 7 man bungalow tent to erect.... So need my energy.
No Jillianing for me for the rest of the weekend just al fresco living, good food, good company and maybe a leisurely bike ride round Graffham Water with the kids! Hope every one enjoys the sunny weekend ...

threestepsforward · 25/05/2012 14:40

Remember too - (only speaking from what I've read from people who've weighed and measured, which I didn't do) - that you can be substantially lower on measurements without being much lighter, if at all lighter, on the scales...

Oh my it's so hot!!! Thanks to Jillian I am wearing a vest top and feeling happy in it...

Really going to have to give myself a boot up the backside to do any exercise today! Am going to leave it til evening so I don't melt into a puddle....

Hope everyone has a great weekend Smile

gypsyfloss · 25/05/2012 15:48

You are all right, I am going to stop thinking about the scales and just enjoy being stronger and leaner.

Today I got my legs out for the first time ever in my nearby town ( normally a holidays only occurence). Thanks to Jillian and St Tropez gradual tanner I rocked white shorts and toned thighs... but sticking to the tits or legs adage I kept my top firmly covered up :)

Hope you have a good camping trip Happy and hope everyone else has an enjoyable weekend in the sunshine .

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 25/05/2012 21:19

Haven't had scales for about 6 months, no idea how much I weigh and don't care. I measure once a month and know the numbers are going down so that's good enough for me.
Did killer l3 yesterday evening, I don't think I've sweated so much in my life, at the end when you do that grab your ankles and pull them towards your shoulders the sweat was dripping off my face. Nothing tonight, think I will get up at the crack of doom tomorrow and do something before it gets to hot.

Have a great weekend!

gingercat12 · 25/05/2012 22:02

I need to use scales. This week however one of my little grey dresses fitted me which were too tight last year. Yay! And my calf is so nice. Even I can see that. Thanks, Jillian. Also even if I do not lose tonnes of weight each week, I have abs again. I can feel them.

gypsyfloss · 26/05/2012 09:14

:) @ gingercat's nice calf...It made me think of you in a Jane Austen novel demurely flashing a little bit of leg ...

Thisis have you managed to exercise yet? I've off to 6w6p now before it gets any warmer.

ThisisaSignofthetimes · 27/05/2012 00:32

Hi gipsy went for a cycle at 9, nice temperature then, can't sleep now though too hot!

notyummy · 27/05/2012 10:21

Dh still struggling with tendinitis so we did NMTZ together yesterday. We added some stuff to circuit 6, which can feel quite easy- did press-up into row, rather than just plank row, and added weights for the dorsal raise thingies. Managed 5kg for the surrenders- and the hard pressups with one leg off the floor in circuit 2. Overall quite pleased with all my efforts.

8 mile run on Friday. Legs a bit sore today! Did pilates and one circuit of Matt Roberts this morning.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!

gingercat12 · 27/05/2012 16:32

gypsy I wish Grin I am wearing my knee-length skirts this weekend, and they do not look so bad on me now. Also shirts are tucked in. Am so pleased.

notyummy I do not know how you two can do it. I am just so hot today, and we live in the North. I did Killer L3, and sweated buckets.

jellibelli · 27/05/2012 19:18

I haven't jillianed for a few days as I was a bit lazy Shock and then the weather has been too glorious to miss so have run yesterday (7 miler) and today (3miler) so not altogether phoning it in.....

Notyummy tell me about Matt Roberts, of you would be kind, what's the DVD(s) like? Hats off to 5kg surrenders, yikes!

threestepsforward · 27/05/2012 20:36

gingercat, I hear you! I did L3 Killer early evening and was a total sweat mess by the end!

Notyummy I am honestly in awe that you don't find any of the Killer levels too hard going. They are definitely (L2 and L3) my hardest JM DVD.

Managed L1 Shred with 3kg weights yesterday and think tomorrow will be a rest day.

Hope you all had a great weekend. Loving being in the garden at the mo... Smile

notyummy · 27/05/2012 20:50

This is the Matt Roberts stuff I have. He doesn't do DVDs! His books are good though. I have another one of his called 'I can make you fit fast.'

Killer is quite tough for me but not that bad. It just must be different things being hard for different people though- I find L2 6W6P nearly finishes me off!!

Nothing tomorrow (phew!) Run planned on Tuesday.

Gherkinsmummy · 28/05/2012 12:04

Day 2 Level 2 Ripped this morning. Aching all over as also did week 4 of the couch 2 5k yesterday, but feeling quite positive though the scales aren't moving. Sweat literally dripping off my chin. Anyone else find it hard to do tables? My bottom gets in the way of the ab hold!

CHST · 28/05/2012 12:48

oh it's hard working out in this heat...am sweating so much more. Workout 7 of phase 2 BR for me today...lovely Jillian has been making us do "supersets" which means for each circuit, the same muscles get a hammering. Crow push ups, (I did one circuit of full yippee, had to move down to knees half way second time around) One legged push ups...after your arms have had a huge hammering, this is hard!! I did as many proper as I could before going down to hands and knees. Down dog push ups, forearm push ups. I seem to like rock star jumps now! I hated them in shred. I love how this is varied. You don't get the same two days in a row and you only do each workout 4 times over two weeks (cardio workouts are more though) Still hate tricep dips in crab though ugh

Happypiglet · 28/05/2012 14:52

I agree CHST so much harder in the heat! I only managed L1 of Ripped today but worked hard no phoning it in! After a weekend away camping with little sleep and in that heat I am up for nothing harder!
