Just thought I'd start a new thread before the old one filled up. Looking forward to seeing everyone on here before too long....

5lb off, yippee! Very pleased with that for first WI.

This week is going to be a struggle though. Girls night in with wine tonight, bbq tomorrow and then family visiting and sight-seeing etc. Aaaargh!

CiderwithBuda · 10/08/2012 13:56

Well done you! That's a brilliant result.

Yesterday went well. Till lunchtime than it all went horrible wrong.

Have just booked myself a weekend back in Budapest next weekend seeing friends so need to be super good tis week. Flipping hard. Off to nephews birthday this afternoon and night out with my sisters tomorrow.

Going to start walking everyday.

And I need to cut right down on carbs. The more I have the more I want.

Debs75 · 10/08/2012 14:08

lost half a lb this week. Not surprised as Prezzo and cinema popcorn probably put on 1lb. Off to get some salad and veg so I don't derail this weekend.

Well done JoJo

Lepreporn · 10/08/2012 21:36

Well done jojo. Had a total breakout this evening. 3 course meal with wine. Not even sure how to begin pointing it. Will put it down as a bad day. Start again Tom.

CiderwithBuda · 11/08/2012 10:03

Nightmare trying to stick to it at the moment.

Breakfast was fine.
Lunch was fine.

Then went to my nephew's birthday party and had two slices of pizza and a piece of birthday cake. Was ok a out that as planned an omelette for dinner. Dropped into my other sister to collect DS just as sis arrived home with chips and insisted we stay as she had bought lots so had egg and chips there. Then came home and had wine.

It's so hard being away as I am in holiday mode.

I did go for a walk last night so probably walked off about a point!

JoJoBaldwin · 11/08/2012 20:55

Well done on half a pound off Debs, remember that would be 26lb over a year!

Sounds like it has been a bad weekend for the rest of us. I have been a massive piggy today and yesterday. Burgers, cheesecake, wine, beer, everything.

Going for a 5k run tomorrow for damage limitation but just need to put reigns on the eating after that blowout.

ornellaia · 12/08/2012 15:30

Well done Jojo on 5lbs off Grin and Debs 1/2 a lb off is still moving in the right direction.

I've lost 2lbs this week, but I've had to be really strict with food to do that and have only used a few weekly points - I think at some point I'm going to have to give in and do some exercise. I'm 6lbs off my target weight now but still feel fat, I'm worried that I'll feel fat even when I get to target.

Lepreporn · 14/08/2012 19:58

Well done everyone. I am down another 4 lbs. got my first silver 7. Hope everyone has a good week.

CiderwithBuda · 15/08/2012 09:34

Hi all.

Well done on losses. 4lb is great Lwpreporn.

Ornellaia - 2lb is good too. Exercise will help you tone up for sure.

Well I weighed in at meeting yesterday. Was dreading it after 2 weeks of wine, junk food, tonnes of bread, cake etc etc. Gained HALF a pound! Was well pleased.

Back in mindset now so planning a good week. Although going to Budapest for weekend to see friends. There will be lots of eating out and drinking champagne.

Life makes it hard!

TigerFeet · 16/08/2012 15:34

Oh lovely a WW thread :)

I got a prescription from my GP for 12 weeks' membership as I've started piling on pounds due to some medication upping my already considerable appetite. Went to my first meeting on Tuesday. I'm on 35 points a day.

I've never been particularly slim and my weight has really yo-yo'd over the past few years, when I was pg with dd2 I had hyperemesis and lost 1.5 stone over the course of the pregnancy and another 1.5 stone in the six weeks afterwards - I've spent the almost 3 years since then piling it all back on again and more. Definitely need to do something about it as I'm bursting out of my fat clothes and can't afford an entire wardrobe. I've got loads of lovely stuff that I bought after dd2 was born (and I was determined I wasn't going to put the weight back on Blush) that will fit me if I can shift a couple of stone. That will do for a start, although ultimately I need to lose about 6 stone.

I'm hoping to couple WW with cutting Diet Coke out of my diet - I think there's definitely something in DC making it hard to lose weight as it messes about with your response to sugar.

Wish me luck!

Debs75 · 17/08/2012 13:34

Lost again this week, 2lbs so only 2 more to go for my little 7lb goalSmile.
Quite excited as we also go away next Friday so it is an extra incentive.

Has anyone been watching the Hairy Bikers new series where they cook their favourites but a diet version? Only caught the last half last night but I will definitely be trying their recipes

Debs75 · 17/08/2012 13:36

Tiger apparently diet coke primes your body for a sugar fix so you are more likely to want chocolate or sweet stuff quite quickly after drinking it

Tattyhead78 · 18/08/2012 11:09

Please can I join in? I have 9lbs to go to goal but am struggling a bit and have stayed the same for the past few weeks (not surprisingly though, I have been on hols and eaten all my weekly and all my activity points!).

JoJoBaldwin · 19/08/2012 08:43

Welcome Tattyhead, hope that 9lb is off soon :-)

Well done on your losses Debs, Ornellaia, and lepreporn!

Had a week of constant socialising, alcohol, bbqs etc and really over-eaten to the point of being uncomfortable on several occasions so haven't dared face up to the scales this week.

Back on track for this week with no alcohol-fuelled things on the horizon so that's a relief. Will try to be good and get off whatever mystery poundage I've gained last week.

ornellaia · 19/08/2012 20:25

Hi Tigerfeet - good luck - hope cutting out diet coke helps you.

Well done on the loss Debs. I haven't seen the hairy bikers show but my mum was telling me about it, she said the recipes seem really good.

Hi Tattyhead, hope the 9lbs is gone soon.

Jojo it's difficult being sociable and sticking to points, so much revolves around food and drink.

I haven't had a great week - STBX moved out on Tuesday and the DC spent their first night there on Friday, I ate a lot of biscuits and ice cream, washed down with lots of red wine that night. And then finished what was left last night Blush. I managed to lose 1lb this week despite my very large slip up. I need to try and be good this week because my planned holiday with my (very skinny) Dsis has been brought forward by a few weeks and I'd like to lose another couple of pounds before I go.

FutTheShuckUp · 19/08/2012 21:36

Hi just joining the thread hope nobody minds! Been doing WW a while- had success and regained when I didn't go to class. Restarted last week- taking it seriously this time as am off on holiday in six weeks tommorow and want to feel lighter. First weigh in tommorow

TigerFeet · 20/08/2012 12:40

Afternoon all, thanks for the welcome.

Day 6 now, and I'm finding it all fairly straightforward. I've got a fair bit to lose which means I get plenty of points at the moment so more than enough not to feel hungry. I suppose the trick is to vary the food a bit so I don't get bored, I do find myself eating a lot of the same stuff every day for breakfast and lunch. I find that I don't feel as bloated as I did before I started. Eating loads of fruit & veg.

I've been watching the hairy bikers (Si King is my secret inexplicable crush), love the idea of leeks for pasta in lasagne and pizza dough for pastry, not sure how it all translates into propoints though. I may have to buy the book.

Ornellaia don't be too hard on yourself, that sounds like a difficult and stressful week, I think most people would have done exactly the same.

Good luck to all of you getting back on track this week :)

Debs75 · 20/08/2012 16:32

I have had a bread nightmare this weekend. 20 points on bread on saturday. I had toast for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, garlic bread with tea and 2 mini granary rolls for supper!
Bread has been one of the things I have cut right down on this time and I think I was bread deprived. I still managed to stay within points but it did leave me bloated.

TigerFeet · 22/08/2012 14:13

mmmm bread....
first weigh in last night - 4lbs off Grin

ornellaia · 22/08/2012 19:38

Now I want bread too, preferably with lots of butter.
Well done TigerFeet, that's brilliant Grin

StormBird · 25/08/2012 22:16

Hello All,

May I join in please?

I joined WW on Monday, I'm using the monthly pass as my lifestyle (job / family) doesn't always mean I have the chance to get to a meeting.

I was a WW member back in 2006 and lost 3.5stone - I've put it all back on since then (and more) for various reasons. There have been a few close family member who have lost incredible amounts of weight over the past year and I'm starting to feel a bit jel, so I've decided to use my jelousy to spur me on and get my weight under control, for good!!!

So I've set myself a goal, and that is that I cannot go back up north to visit my family until I've lost 2 stone and my time limit is 14 weeks (23rd November) an average of 2lbs a week.

I think joining a tread like this might also help my motivation!

Smile
StormBird · 25/08/2012 22:18

*thread Blush

Debs75 · 01/09/2012 22:28

Had a lovely holiday but now back to reality.
Wi in this morning and I have reached my first goal and am now 13st12Grin almost 2 stone off. Yes it has taken me all year but people are noticing now and I feel loads better for it. reset my goal to 12st7 and I hope to be there by Christmas

kilmuir · 03/09/2012 17:05

Started weightwatchers today, 2 and a half stone to go. Will be spending evening working out meals and getting head round propoints.
Do people with children cook same for everyone? If so any recipes that are favourite with the children.? Thanks

StormBird · 04/09/2012 11:56

1st weigh in last night - I think I could've lost around 5lb's in the first 2 weeks of WW but it's hard to tell as they are different scales to the ones at home so I'm starting over this week and am treating this as week 1!! Fingers crossed I start to see progress.

Kilmuir Welcome, I'd be interested to hear of family favorite WW recipes too.
