Just thought I'd start a new thread before the old one filled up. Looking forward to seeing everyone on here before too long....

OP posts:
JoJoBaldwin · 31/07/2012 13:36

Hello everyone, went awol for a bit trying MFP but got fed up with the slowness of the app lol. Then achieved the objective of my healthy eating etc - got pregnant. But sadly it turned out to be ectopic so back to square one.

Long and short is since getting preggers then having to have surgery to remove fallopian tube it has been 3 months with no exercise and not really watching what I've been eating. Too scared to look at the scales but imagine I have put on about a stone, and would like to stop the upward trend. Will be trying to get pregnant again in a month or so and it would be great to be in good health for it to minimise risk of complications.

Already had 22 points today so not started off too well!

wizzler · 31/07/2012 22:26

JoJo... sorry to read your thread. I remember you on this thread from last year, when i was more of a regular. If I recall you were v successful on PP. Take it steady, Jojo.. it seems as if you have had a rough 3 months

JoJoBaldwin · 01/08/2012 07:50

Thanks wizzler, really hoping I can stick to it for a bit. All my new size 16 tops are suddenly tight again and can't bear the thought of suddenly being in a size 20 again so i reckon a good push for a couple of weeks will have me feeling "comfortable" again.

Going to head out at 9 to the park with DD then takling her to a storytelling session and then picnic on the beach so plenty of time away from the fridge!

I was doing so well with exercise and running fairly regularly but feel so unfit now after the surgery. Did Race for Life on sunday, only walking, but was good to get moving again so must start easing back into it now. Got a goodie bag after the race with a dorset cereals sample in it which i had for brekkie, more pointy at 7pp than i would like to start the day but at least it was wholesome.

Yesterday managed 30pp so a reasonable start.

Looking forward to reading back on the thread and seeing everyones journeys. Did I see someone lost 6 stone???!!!!!

JoJoBaldwin · 03/08/2012 08:16

Well I braved the wii fit weigh in today to give me my starting marker and ..... 12st 1lb.

Which is a relief as it is a gain of 4lb rather than the 10 or so I was estimating. Annoying to be in the 12s again after soooooo long trying to bash through that particular barrier, but must keep reminding myself that one good week will put me under again.

Totm as well today so hopefully that's accounting for a bit too!

Lepreporn · 03/08/2012 20:08

Hi I'm new to ww. Have plenty of baby weight 7 week dd to lose. And the bit that was still there since last baby. 4 year old dd. Smile
Can anyone tell me the pro points in battered cod from a chip shop. Without the batter. Can only find points for batter on. Thanks

JoJoBaldwin · 05/08/2012 13:31

Hi Parsley and Lepreporn, how are you getting on? Feel liked I've killed this thread stone dead since joining lol.
I would have guessed 6pp for cod without batter btw.

Managed to stay between 29 and 33 points since thursday and neatly sidestepped the suggestion of a beer garden and icecream yesterday, so feeling okish. Not being able to do much exercise is annoying me though and wondering if I'll lose even if i'm good with points as I'm pretty sedentary at the moment.

Debs75 · 05/08/2012 13:49

Just lost a huge post so will start again.
Have broken my deadlock and actually lost weight this week. I am hoping to lose 7lbs in 4 weeks and lost 3 this week so should make that. I had slipped and stopped tracking and letting bad habits slip back in so started tracking again and was good, I think I can keep it up for 3 weeks, have promised myself a KFC treat for after our holiday if I make it. I will be under 14 stone for the first time in 4 years so feel I will have deserved it.

JoJo I hardly ever exercise as I never have the time or opportunity. I do walk loads and come September I will be aiming to walk the 2 miles to college twice a week, plus we will be on the 7th floor so I am going to attempt to make that by June, I can currently get to floor 3 before collapsing.

Leproporn When I get chip shop I use the recipe pp on the website and then doubled it so mine cost 23 points, I get a large and share with dd3. Some days I don't have any chips or batter but I do usually give in to some chips and batter. It only leaves me with 16 points for the rest of the day but it is now a once in a while treat

Lepreporn · 05/08/2012 22:02

Hi jo jo and debs.
I thought I had killed this thread. I am getting on ok considering it's my first week. Can't get over the portion sizes.
I used to have 3 times the amount of cereal you are meant to have.
I had a real full fat coke addiction so I am suffering terrible headaches now without it.
I had pointed the fish as 10.
Thanks for the advice.

JoJoBaldwin · 06/08/2012 08:50

Good luck with giving up the black stuff Lepreporn, there's no chance of being healthy or slim while addicted to it ao you're doing the right thing. I'm really trying to cutdown on tea and coffee for the same reasons. Cant manage coffee with less than 2 sugars, but had one and a half in my tea this morning in an effort to gradually wean myself off. Sugar is my drug unfortunately.

Debs, I'll join you in losing 7lb over 4 weeks, sounds v doable. Next week will be tricky as have relatives visiting who love their food and will want a few nights out with alcohol. I have exactly a week before they arrive to make maximum impact on the scales!

JoJoBaldwin · 06/08/2012 08:55

Just wondering, what low point must-haves do you keep in the house? I'm always looking for new ideas being something of a grazer lol.

I'm finding it helpful to have mini milks (1pp) ice pops (0) bananas apples and grapes to help my sugar cravings. And low cal cupasoups.

Lepreporn · 06/08/2012 14:08

I have my baby's christening in sept as my first weight loss goal. I am stocking up on
Eggs, grapes and strawberries. I am also using the virtual gastric band weight loss app. Which is def helping with my sugar cravings. There is a big thread about it somewhere. Not sure how to link Blush.

JoJoBaldwin · 06/08/2012 19:59

The gastric band app sounds interesting, was reading the thread yesterday. Managed another okish day today, around 35 points. Find it so hard to have a 29 point day! But even so I can tell I am eating a lot less than I was and making better choices.

JoJoBaldwin · 06/08/2012 20:05

Breakfast: soya linseed bread toast with clover lighter and tiny bit of jam, tea, banana 7pp

Lunch: pasta pesto 8 cupasoup 1 rich tea biscuit and minimilk 2

Dinner: frylight mushrooms wih philly garlic and herbs on soya linseed toast with frylight egg 6pp
apple
plus a few nibbles and cup of coffee

Lepreporn · 06/08/2012 21:22

The app is very good so far jojo. I
am only on section 2 . Haven't had the op yet.

JoJoBaldwin · 07/08/2012 09:57

Are you aiming to have a real gastric band at some stage Lepreporn? With a bit of luck the weight will start shifting with the WW plan and you won't have to. How much are you looking at losing? And what is you WI day? I'll be very happy to get to 10.5 stone as i actually can't remember being that weight. I look pretty good at 11 stone but still have belly being an apple shape so it would be nice not to have that.

I was naughty this morning and weighed myself to see if 4 days of being good had actually had any results.

4lb off!!!!!!!!!! I know I shouldn't count it just yet, but it's nice to see things are taking effect and things feel looser already which is such a boost. Must try and sustain till proper WI day on friday.

Lepreporn · 07/08/2012 11:08

No real gastric band. Grin just part 3 of the app makes you think you have the operation.
I'm getting weighed Tom so nervous . Start weight is 13 stone. 5 lbs. I would love to be 10 stone 7 lbs.

Debs75 · 07/08/2012 20:13

JoJo I weigh myself most days, I know you shouldn't but I can't help it, especially if the weight is coming off.

JoJoBaldwin · 07/08/2012 20:45

I know Debs, it's a terrible habit, though I only feel the urge if I've been behaving ;-)

I will try and hold off weighing again till friday. Pleased that the loss is good so far while eating more than 29 points though, it always feels like you shouldn't be eating your weeklies but I find 29 points so difficult.

JoJoBaldwin · 07/08/2012 20:53

Todays menu:
Breakfast: soya linseed toast with clover lighter, banana, apple, blueberries, coffee 6pp
Lunch: scotch pancake, blueberries, Cupasoup, Minimilk 6pp
Dinner: risotto made with rice, quinoa, bns and philly 12 pp ( i had loads)

Plus teas and prob have a snack later aiming for around 32 pp today.

Lepreporn · 08/08/2012 12:13

Had first weigh in. Im down 4 and 1/2 pounds. GrinSmileGrinSmileGrinSmile
Know I've a long way to go still. But it's a great kick start for me.

JoJoBaldwin · 08/08/2012 13:28

Woop woop! Fantastic loss lepreporn! Hope that gives you a boost, couple more pounds and you'll be in the 12s which will be a great feeling. My start weight was 13st 8, bit heavier than you now x

Went down to the beach and forgot to take a sandwich or anything so lunchtime was tricky with the smell of fish and chips in the air. Managed to hang on till I got home for a less pointy lunch of fish and salad, phew.

Debs75 · 09/08/2012 09:11

Went to pictures with dp last night then to Prezzo.
Total day points at just over 50 which wasnt too bad as i had a pudding. It will be the last treat before our holiday so still on track to lose that 7lbs

JoJoBaldwin · 09/08/2012 11:44

Derailed by beer and pizza last night, not good. I will be very cross with myself if it means my first week wi goes tits up tomorrow.

CiderwithBuda · 09/08/2012 12:27

Hi all. I lost the thread. Glad to see some action back on here as it seemed a bit dead.

Right. Am struggling. Big time. Was determined to get to 14 stone for our holiday. Failed. Had a bad week before we went. Was not too bad on holiday which was two weeks in Greece. Only gained 1.5 pounds. But have not been able to get into right mindset since. Gained another 1.5 pounds the following week. Then last week had my niece and nephews over which meant lots of eating out and wine. Didn't go to WW this week but determined to get back on track. Am now in Dublin till Monday. Had MacDonalds last night plus wine and cake. Aargh!!!

Have a 40th on 15 Sept and that is my next big goal. Want to be a size 16.

So thank you for posting and helping me find the thread again!

Haven't been tracking so will start that again today. So far have had granola, blueberries and skim milk plus some brown soda bread. Lunch will be salmon and salad. Dinner roast veg and something.

JoJoBaldwin · 09/08/2012 17:18

Well done on getting back to it Cider it is really hard trying to stay on track when you have holidays and lots of social things on. Have family visiting too next week and alcohol will be on the agenda so don't hold out much hope of losing.
