sanuk, I didn't eat it, instead I got the kids wrapped up, wellies on and took the dog out for an hour (I reckoned it up to be 3 activity points, is that right?)

I have planned something lovely for tea in about an hour

and I'm drinking lots of no sugar squash Smile

hello oldbag (I feel v rude calling you that; what nickname would you like?)

trinity - ooh, get you with your exercise and no sugar squash. well done on the turnaround Wink

And yes, 3 activity points sounds right.

Hello!
I've just started WW (a week and a half ago) and I've lost 2lb so far so very happy but wondering what do other people do for lunch?
If I'm at home I have a salad which is fine I've bought stuff that makes it vaguely exciting but I'll probably get bored soon and what about on the go? If I have a sandwich I then don't have enough points for a decent evening meal.
Evening meals are tricky because DH is doing it too which is kind and helpful but he has almost twice as many points as me and a similar appetite so we stuggle to find something that we can both happily eat.

Plus I miss cheese Envy

75g of rice is a piddling amount

Report
Vajazzler · 15/02/2012 18:30

I agree trinity! Ive given up on rice and tend to go for new potatoes instead. 250g for 5pp.
Ginger if im at home i usually have HM 0pp soup with a mini pitta. Or an omelette with lots of mushrooms.

TrinityRhino · 15/02/2012 18:33

oooh omlettes with lots of veg in

thats an idea I hadn't thought of

Hmm, rice, my WW nemesis

We eat a lot of rice in this house

I never know how many PP to record, as they only give a value for UNcooked basmati rice, which is f-all use as it's much easier to cook a batch for the 4 of us, then measure out a portion

Does anyone know what PP values a portion (any size, I'll work from there!) of cooked basmati rice is?

Hello all would like to join the thread please, have been on we since the 5 th feb and have lost 9 lb! Can't believe it but I am going at it full on.
No wine at all, lots of gym time and sticking strictly to points.
I have 3 stone to loose so need to continue this long term.
I know I have had a good start but know that when I am usually loosing a pound or two a week I will feel impatient.

LolaLadybird · 15/02/2012 22:41

You see Trinity, you'll be a pro in no time! (and yes, bananas a WW essential I find).

As for the rice, I am finding that whilst you can eat carbs on WW, cutting down on carbs and upping the lean protein makes the points go a lot further and the protein is filling. Eggs are particularly good.

Ginger - would feta cheese do it for you? I buy the low-fat stuff as it really makes no difference with feta and works well on salads with a few sundried tomatoes.

And welcome to Oldbag (agree with Sanuk that is does sound derogatory!)

Vajazzler · 15/02/2012 22:46

Sanuk the WW tracker gives white, easy cook rice, boiled a pp value of 6pp for 150g. There is isn't an option for cooked basmati.

well that was a yummy omelette

2 eggs with half a red onion, half a green pepper, 5 chestnut mushrooms

Thanks Vajazz

Last night I made a vegetarian dinner for the first time in YEARS. A stirfry with cashew nuts and edamame beans and loads of veg, with fresh egg noodles. Was nice. I feel v virtuous now. I eat too much red meat, and as I have slightly high choloesteral, I am working on eating less. I've decided we will have one vegetarian dinner per work. I've also eaten 3 portions of fish already this week.

Hi, can I join you all, started WW before christmas (but then gave myself christmas and new year 'off') Blush Back on track since and have lost 13 pounds altogether with just over a stone and a half to go. Generally find it not too bad, sometimes have a bit of a grump when feeling deprived (if I stopped spending all my weekly points on wine I might get a bit more grub!) Grin

I'm huuuungry grrr
cept, I dont think I am, I'm just used to eating all the time and crap shit

its harder to organise, point and think of meals, then cook them

than it is to just love on crisps, oven pizzas, takeaway, choc bars, ready meals, massive portions of chilli and rice, curry and rice, leftover chilloi on huge baked pots, leftover curry on huge baked pots, toast slathered in butter (4 slices at a time), chunks of cheese eaten straight from the fridge

fucking hell, thats awful written down Blush

TrinityRhino · 16/02/2012 19:52

I had 2 plums and cup of decaf tea with sweeteners

I've also had my tea WW beef hotpot with tons of cabbage and cauli

does anyone else seem to be farting like they are in a competition? Blush

LolaLadybird · 16/02/2012 21:11

I don't fart, I'm a laydee (and also a liar)! Wink

2 lbs off today making it 6 lbs in 2 weeks. Happy with that as I was 22 points in the red by the end of the week. Am exercising a lot tho' which will be making the difference I'm sure.

Am hungry now which is ridiculous as I've had a bowl of wholemeal pasta, chicken breast, stir-fried veg with a bit of chilli philadelphia stirred through. Was yummy but I feel like I could eat again, the trouble with running I think as it does up the appetite. Am going to go and eat some fruit (and pretend it's chocolate).

Welcome Clare8 and Fanny.

Chilli Philly????? Where does one purchase something so scrummy? And is it ok point wise?

Report
LolaLadybird · 16/02/2012 21:29

Oh yeah. Low fat sweet chilli philly. I get mine in Sainsbury's but I think any decent supermarket would stock it. Only 1 PP per tbsp and it makes a fab pasta sauce - just mix a bit of the pasta water in to make the sauce the right consistency.

Last year someone posted a great recipe for it on here - basically king prawns, mange tout and linguine with the sweet chilli philly stirred in and a pinch of dried chilli flakes. It is divine - low points but makes you feel like you are having a real spoil (creamy pasta dishes are my all time favourite).

thanks Lola and furball

it's my birthday in about 6 wks so I've decided to ask for a fold up exercise bike. i figure that as I can use it while watching tv at home, I'm more likely to use it, plus I don't need to worry about childcare or cold weather or any other excuse Wink

welcome to the new starters/returners

ginger I've discovered that lunch is my downfall too. I return to work from ML next week and I'm really going to have to give some thought to what the hell I'll eat at work to make sure I can actually eat dinner without using up all my weekly points - if you come up with a magic answer, do let me know! Smile
