Just thought I'd start a new thread before the old one filled up. Looking forward to seeing everyone on here before too long....

Thanks Debs75 : it's good to hear about other peep's experiences. I had a Skinny Glorious soup today - the Goan Tomato Soup - 5pp for 1/2 pot which was surprisingly filling and managed to eek out toast and the tiniest spread of light Philly. Have lost weight this week but was wondering if I should expect some static weeks. If I stick to daily PP allowance , will weight continue to come off I wonder...

hellsbells76 · 27/06/2012 16:34

Hi all - sunam I think you'll get used to it, I really don't miss things like bread and cheese anymore and they were real staples of my diet behore, hence me now needing to shift quite a lot of weight! Hang on in there.

I was pleasantly surprised to lose another pound this week, despite throwing tracking to the wind at the weekend (drunken hen night on Saturday and carb-loading with hangover on Sunday so was convinced I'd have gained!) only another pound to go and I'll have lost my first stone Grin

CiderwithBuda · 27/06/2012 22:11

Hi all.

I stayed the same this week. Surprising in a good way as I had my 49, your 49, and the woman down the road's 49!!!

Annoyed with myself though as I go on holiday on 8 July and I wanted to be 14 stone then. Not a chance now. I seem to be back in the zone though so hoping for a good loss this week which will be my last WW weigh in before the holiday.

I am also now a helper at the meeting I go to which will make sure I keep going. Esp after the holiday when it will be easy to not go back.

Welcome newbies! Stick around. We seem to get quite a few newbies who never come back! We are not that scary really!

sunam - I miss lots of things too. But you can find things that replace the things you miss. I love biscuits after my lunch. Now I have a pack of two WW biscuits which is 2 points. Instead of the 6 I would have had before. I also always have a snack after I get back from picking DS up from school. Now it is usually something like a crumpet (2 points) with a teaspoon of peanut butter of some extra light Philly. Or a piece of fruit and a yoghurt.

I love cheese on toast. Now I have the WW Malted Danish bread toasted and I spread a little HP sauce on and sprinkle on some WW grated cheese and pop that under the grill. I like that for breakfast sometimes or with some soup for lunch.

Look out for filling and healthy foods - their points values are highlighted in green - they will help keep you feeling satisfied. Once you get into the plan and get used to the portion sizes you can do filling and healthy days.

My Dad is coming tomorrow for the weekend. He is coming over from Dublin to babysit DS while DH and I go to a Ball on Friday night. Have just been menu planning from some WW cookbooks. Am determined to be good. Obv I won't be at the Ball! But I think I have enough of my 49 left that it should be ok.

Then it will be a really struck week before we go away. I want to shift as much as I can. Although i am realistic! Will be very happy with 4 pounds over the two weeks from last weigh in.

Gooseysgirl · 28/06/2012 20:31

Hello all, am heading back to WW next Monday evening... Lost around 20lb with WW in time for my wedding early 2011. Now have a gorgeous DD who is almost 4 months old :-) Baby weight fell off for first few weeks but have been static ever since.. Am determined to get back to wedding day weight by my return to work in Sept!! PP was just starting when I was finishing last time so it'll be all new to me... I probably have about 20lb to lose but am feeling motivated as I know I can do it if I've done it before...

Debs75 · 29/06/2012 18:02

Stayed the same, again, I think this is the 3rd or 4th week I have stuck. I really need to try something different to get back on track.

crazynell · 29/06/2012 21:04

hi all i'm thinking of coming back to ww for the 2/3rd time and i used to do the filling foods plan i.e. not count points - i think i had 21 points to use up each week as long as i stuck to eating from the filling foods list. I'm wondering what ww does now - is it still this or is it something different - can anyone let me know what the latest approach - i don't want to sign up and then find i don't like the latest plans

HecateHarshPants · 01/07/2012 09:41

Hi guys. Can I join this thread? I want to pick up again and just rejoined WW online today.

Gooseysgirl · 03/07/2012 08:37

Joined up last night and now on Day 1... here goes! First big challenge is lunch out with friends today but bought the eating out guide so I know what to choose so will hopefully avert any disasters!!

CiderwithBuda · 03/07/2012 14:33

Hi all

Welcome to newbies!

Debs - that is frustrating. Our leader suggested Filling and Healthy days when people get stuck. It works for some.

There is also a way to shake up your points allowance over the week. You have low points one day and higher the next. Tricks the body into loosing again. Sometimes the body gets used to a way of eating and needs a kick up the bum!

Crazynell - there is something called Filling and Healthy which sounds similar.

Hecate - course you can!

Goooseysgirl - nothing like starting with a challenge!

Well I weighed in today and have lost 1.5 this week. Quite good considering.

Total loss now 33.

A bit annoyed as have missed my goal for my holiday. Wanted to be 14 stone 2 pounds by this coming Sunday. Was 14 10.5 today so that won't happen!

My home scales are crap too so struggling to figure out what I need to be on scales here to see if I have lost any more before we go away on Sunday.

Debs75 · 03/07/2012 19:26

Thanks Cider, I will check out filing and healthy foods. I think I get in a rut when I try and diet and I know I tend to try and eat like I usually do and just point it up.
I want to be under 14 stone for my holiday in august, it sounds doable.

wizzler · 03/07/2012 22:29

1 lb off tonight.. which I was Smile about.
I was deparate for a Brew at 5pm and thought it might scupper my 6:30om weigh in !!.
Littlefish are you still on this thread.. do you still weigh in on tuesdays ?

MyNameIsInigoMontoya · 04/07/2012 00:21

Hello all! Not been around for a while, had a funny old month... see what you make of this!

Well we went off on our holiday and I had already decided I would NOT track or worry about points etc while we were away. So we did some cooking but several meals out, seafood, chips, wine pretty much every night (though not loads)... Then came back and the scales had a flat battery (obscure sort not easy to find in the shops), so it was nearly 3 weeks before I managed to weigh in again.

Then found instead of putting on a lb or two as I'd expected, I had gone down more than 2 lb over that time Shock

I couldn't quite work out how that happened - had been a bit "stuck" before that, gaining and losing a bit but overall not really changing much for several weeks. So that was a bit of a surprise and I couldn't really work out what I'd "done right".

So, I kept on not tracking for another couple of weeks - and lo and behold, have lost even more weight and finally reached my 10% goal, without really trying Confused But I have been eating fairly unrestrained-ly, exercising no more than normal,... really not sure what's made the difference! Maybe I was eating too little before?

So I am pretty chuffed of course, but not very motivated to get back on WW and start tracking properly again! I only hope the effect, whatever it is, lasts and is not a fluke Grin Will have to see how things go from here! I do wish I knew what had made the difference though, so I could make sure to keep doing/not doing it!

CiderwithBuda · 04/07/2012 10:03

Well Inigo I wouldnt knock it! Maybe you were not eating enough before. And maybe doing WW has shrunk your appetite and/or educated you about portion sizes and you are not eating as much as you were before.

Debs75 · 06/07/2012 11:57

Another sodding week where I haven't lost anythingSad
I haven't put any on thoughSmile
Am putting my weight on the online site so will be avidly checking out healthy and filling and trying to lose some bloody weight

muffintop · 09/07/2012 18:53

Hi Can anyone help please I have just eaten Asda Chosen by you tomato and basil chicken - 410g. I have just worked out the points and it came in at 7 points per chicken breast which I am Shock as I ate both because they were quite small.

Can anyone work out if this is correct - info needed below

Per half pack

protein 27.3
carbs 3.1
fat 2.6
fibre 3.8

would someone kindly check if this is correct for me. This is my first week of following this new plan and am still quite surprised at how many points are in everything (especially as I am a greedy cow Grin. I have just swopped from slimming world but can't get on with the eating plan.

thanks Smile

Debs75 · 09/07/2012 19:36

muffintop I have just worked it out at 4 points per half pack so 8 for the whole pack. were you using the above amounts but putting them in as a 100g and timesing by 4 to get a 410g pack

muffintop · 09/07/2012 20:06

Hi, thanx for replying - I worked it out by half and pack and then worked it out at 100grm and got a different result for both - 8 points I can live with 14 was a bit of a shock thanx again - not what shall I eat for my 5 points!!

Gooseysgirl · 10/07/2012 06:03

3lb off after my first week Grin Am finding the iPhone app brilliant for tracking. Although there are supposedly no points in fruit I'm not convinced and limiting myself to two pieces a day. Have been digging out some old favourite recipes from the last time I did WW and converting to PP. have got a great gnocchi recipe which l'll post later if anyone's interested Smile

HollyGoHeavily · 10/07/2012 15:29

hello all - can I join you please as I went back to WW on Sunday after losing a stone last year and then my efforts petering out. I've got about 5 stones to lose which is quite intimidating...

ilovesooty · 10/07/2012 21:15

Well done Gooseysgirl

Holly I'm hoping to lose at least that so I'm just looking at the here and now and small steps. I lost 3.5lb tonight. I have lost 33.5lb so far and only have 1.5lb to go to my 2.5 stones.

muffintop · 11/07/2012 15:45

First weigh in and only lost a pound but was out on Friday and had a few voddies so maybe that made a different but used the points correctly or so I thought. I like the points system and count on line which is good but am not sure if my portion sizes are too big ie I eat lots of veg and big salads with chicken or fish - is this ok or should I be weighing my free food portions? Any advice pls - did SW for a while but find it really hard to follow although lost 12 pounds but over a few months - friends have been on it and lost sheds loads but didn't work for me and like meat and veg together and bread, oh I love bread Grin

Gooseysgirl · 11/07/2012 21:00

Hi muffin.. salad and veg should be fine but check the weight of your chicken and fish portions!
Here's my gnocchi recipe if anyone's interested...
Dry fry 2 chopped and deseeded peppers until slightly charred, put aside. Mist a large saucepan with low cal spray and gently soften 1 clove garlic chopped and 1 small onion chopped. Next add a tin of chopped tomatoes and half can again of water. Bring to simmer and add 500g pack of gnocchi and add the peppers, season with S&P. Simmer for 10 mins stirring occasionally, and add in some torn basil leaves just before serving. Makes 4 portions of 5 pro points each. I have 1 portion myself, give DH 2 portions and save the final portion for lunch next day. Add some grated Parmesan for an extra point.

Kladdkaka · 12/07/2012 00:19

Oops, I missed this thread and started another. I joined tonight, got totally overwelmed with info so went to Mcdonalds on the way home :(

ornellaia · 29/07/2012 11:22

Thought I'd bump this thread as maybe a few of us could do with some support Smile

I've had a rubbish few weeks and have been over eating due to stress, so one week when I gained and a few where I've stayed the same or just lost 1lb. I'm finally getting back on track though and have lost 2lbs this week. That means I've finally got to my 10% target, I've lost 1 stone 3 lbs overall and have another 9lbs to go to my target weight.

I got some WW biscuits this week with my online shop - they are truly vile and are 2pp each, which is the same as a dairy milk chocolate biccy Hmm

kladdkaka how are you getting on? I hope the points are making more sense to you now.

ParsleyTheLioness · 29/07/2012 15:18

Hi all, can I join you? Went back to WW a couple of months ago, have lost 9llbs so far, but a lot to go...
